I was just looking at the results for the 1996 European Track Championships and saw that an athlete named Vladislav Dologodin defeated Linford Christie to win first place in the 100 meters. His time was 10.02. Christie tied for second with another athlete named Konstantin Rurak at 10.03.

This is the closest I could find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_European_Cup_(athletics). But the results were far different. Vlad was just another 10.2 sprinter.
