Back to the Titans.. Good move by them. They were pretty much the most white team starters wise, and I sure hope they don't take Vince Young as a QB.. Hawk would be a much better pick

Congrats to Kyle on a great season and hopefully he continues to be a pro bowl caliber player.

A couple of days ago a column in a akron newpaper qouted a source high up with the Cleveland Browns said that alot of fans were emailing and pushing for a AJ Hawk selection with their 12th overall pick. The source said that if he slipped that far, they would most likely take him and he would be a "immediate starter".

I'd love to see him on the Browns too, as they are also one of the teams with more white players and Hawk would be a great anchor for Crennel's defense.

Vanden Bosch is a prototype defensive end. You would think that the defensive lines would be around 65% white(would fit the demographics of the nation's athletic generation(ages 20-40). The media supposedly says blacks only athletic advantage is speed. Well, some of the nose tackles run 5.3 and are fat as heck.

We need some of those world strongest man guys.Edited by: Freedom

The Titans are mulling over what to do with Steve McNair after signing Vanden Bosch. McNair's base salary for '06 is $9 million so he's going to have to restructure his contract to stay with the team. He could end up being released. This article talks about McNair and then further down has a lot of nice things to say about Vanden Bosch. Kyle has the talent and work ethic to be a dominant end for a while now.

Wow I can't believe they didn't include the "high motor" line in that article as I thought that that was mandatory when speaking highly of a white defensive lineman. lol

That was a great move re-signing Kyle. The Titans have a lot of young, talented white players on defense, the most any NFL team has had in a number of years, but a lot of them need to take the next step. Vanden Bosch is their leader, by his actions on the field. All-out effort all the time is the white way. Rien Long, Travis LaBoy, Bo Schobel, Jared Clauss, are all talented d-linemen; in fact five of the 8 down lineman on the current roster are white. LBs Peter Sirmon, Rocky Boiman, Brad Kassell, Robert Reynolds, and Cody Spencer make up five of the team's six linebackers. Back up safety Donnie Nickey is the only d-back. This is a very rare opportunity for white players to play a strong role on a team's defense. If it doesn't pan out who knows how long it will be before another such opportunity presents itself? Vanden Bosch came back from injuries that would have finished just about anyone else, to play at an elite level. Surely the White Titans don't want to fail. But they will have to work very hard and who better to lead them than Kyle Vanden Bosch.Edited by: Don Wassall

You gotta love the Titans coaching staff for not being afraid of what people might think by them having alot of whites on defense. It takes guts to be different and lead the way. Jeff Fisher has all my respect when it comes to coaching.

KVB, the face of underachieving in the AFC South?

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/10360/afc-south-underachiever-kyle-vanden-bosch

Vanden Bosch still is playing very hard and his famous motor still is running hot, but the production is not matching the effort.

At 30 years old, this nine year veteran's physical skills could be diminishing. He was terrific in 2007, but his production began to slip last season. Then, the slippage was thought to be due to injuries.

He was never the strongest, fastest or most athletic edge rusher in the league, so Vanden Bosch could not afford to lose a step. Technique and hustle only goes so far. But Big Al is gone and the remaining players needed to step up to fill the void.

Of course, this a sham piece from a lil' biatch. Bo Scaife, among other "Titans" - or the wildly-overrated Mario Williams or Okoye - would have made more sense.

This turd "writer" would crap his pants if KVB put his big hands on this geek's pencil-neck. "Is that enough strength -- KVB roars?" WE dominated World's Strongest Man again this year, but this "writer" sees his own little, undeveloped body, and just can't fathom White physical dominance at it's purest/rawest level. Questioning KVB's strength?.. What planet do you live on, just WOW!

KVB is one of the STRONGEST DE's in the league. That distinction sure wouldn't go to bums like Gaines Adams or Marcus Spears or Jarvis Moss, etc etc etc. A D-Linemen's worse enemy is a non-existant secondary, so you are a boy, Matt. Just imagine if Tennessee had 11 beasts like KVB on DEFENSE.. yeah, he's really the problem.

"Technique and hustle only goes so far."

This sentence was copied word-for-word from the casteon bible. KVB being singled out for his "hustle" on an atrocious team of quitters is too rich. Hmm, I wonder why this dork writer didnt question the recently signed "freak," Jovan Kearse, who is having his tenth consecutive generic season.

Great post Deadlift! This is consummate pick on the whitey for a team full of Afrolete's problems. KVB is one of the strongest links on the team! It's the Titan's WRs and secondary that should be getting attacked by the media.
