Hard to argue with anything he said there, especially with his statement
about AIPAC having too much control over our foreign policy and
bringing the troops home from Iraq and putting them on our
southern border to stop the drugs and illegals...and this was back in
1990! Just think how better off this country would be now if that was
done back then!

Also, you don't see that kind of audience engagement much anymore. I
still remember watching another audience engagement on C-SPAN probably
around 1991 that took place at Ohio State University that was against
the whole Iraq invasion at that time and thinking how great some of the
questions were and how well-informed the audience was. Since then it seems like Americans have been stupefied. Whether it's all of the pharma drugs people are taking now, all of the chemicals in the food and water supply now compared to then, I don't know. Maybe they just had more time on their hands to think back then instead of trying to work 2-3 jobs now just to make ends meet, but the contrast is pretty stark between now and just 20 years ago. Makes me wonder how bad things will be in another 20 years...if we make it that far as a viable country.

Whatever one thinks of Traficant, it's nice to see a politician talk straight, without fear of being demonized or silenced, utilizing the First Amendment as it was intended.

I remember watching Traficant make thosre famous three-minute speeches on the House floor many years ago when I was a C-span junkie.

The guy is absolutely hilarious and truthful! That's why they railroaded him straight into the pen. He's one of the most courageous, straight to the point, politicians ever. Go on YouTube and watch his speeches, they're classic.

The political class had a deep seeded hatred for Mr. Traficant. He exposed their hypocrisy at every turn; therefore, they needed to get him out of congress. This they did with a vengeance.

I don't think many people took him seriously because of that crazy looking hair.

Mr. trafficant is Youngstown's finest!! We loved him here in NE Ohio. If he ran again tomorrow he would win in a landslide.

I saw interviews with him and Greta Van Sustern right after he was released from the pen. He said , if I recall correctly, that he may run again.

Wish he would. I'm sure that the PTB would begin in earnest to smear his name. He's definitely one man they don't want back on Capitol Hill. I'd love to see him back up there for entertainment, if nothing else.
