Good practice fight for Adamek as he needs some more work on the heavy bag, and Aunt Jemima will make a good moving heavy bag.

As long as Toney doesn't flop Tomasz with one of his man boobs we should be okay.

Kathy Duva, Main Events CEO: "As we were not able to come to terms with Toney by the time the IBF unexpectedly ordered Tomasz to participate in a four-man eliminator, we have decided to explore that option and move on."

"And we were horrified when mumbling, slurring Toney threatened to go to ESPN and beat up Dan Rafael, too!"

Looks like Adamek will be fighting Travis Walker next.

[h=1]Adamek to face Walker next[/h] By Przemek Garczarczyk
“It’s official – on September 8 I will fight Travis Walker in the always friendly to Prudential Center in Newark,†heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (46-2, 28 KOs) told Fightnews.com. Adamek has never lost in the arena just a five minutes drive from his home. “We were ready to fight Alexander Ustinov in an IBF eliminator but his visa problems prohibited him to arrive in US. Travis Walker (39-7, 31 KOs) proved his worth knocking out Kali Meehan in his last fight. He’s ranked #12 by IBF and has full eight weeks to get into best possible shape before facing me on September 8. I hope he will be 100 percent ready,†said “Góral.†The fight at the Prudential Center will be an afternoon affair because Adamek-Walker will be broadcast live on PPV in Poland.

Finally watched the last round of the fight and Tomasz looked sensational with the TKO. Walker would have been down within 10 seconds if Cotton didn't step in.

I saw the Polish network broadcast. Is it true that Adamek is 5'11"? I always thought he was over 6' tall. It could explain his total inability to land on Vitali last September. At that height with a normal reach he will always have to fight tooth and nail to beat a large heavyweight. He's just spotting too much size. Ps that was an awesome comeback and eventhough the hook was quick Walker was geting ktfo within a few rounds.

He's listed at 6'1. I think that is his legit height.

It says that Adamek refused to take a blood alcohol test - and then they released him on $1,000 bail.

If I am Arrested for DWI in New York, am I Required to Take a Chemical Test?

Technically, no. If you are arrested and charged with a DWI in New York, you may choose not to take a breath or blood BAC (blood alcohol content) test. However, a refusal to do so will have serious consequences due to New York's implied consent laws...

Kathy Duva on Adamek-Grano: Adamek knows the stakes

By Przemek Garczarczyk

Everybody who will fight at “Three To See” event at the Mohegan Sun Casino is available for interviews except Tony. Problem?

Kathy Duva: I don’t think so, not for me. For Grano this is a very important, maybe career defining, fight. He wants’ to use Adamek to make a jump in the rankings by beating him. For Adamek this bout has to prove his worth as one of the top five heavyweight fighters in the world. There are big fight opportunities in front of him. A lot in stake for both fighters, no doubt.

Styles always make the fight. It will be hard to find more different ones than Grano and Adamek. Tony always steps into the ring thinking knockout – as fast as possible. Tomek wants to beat the other guy up, break him up.

In two of his last three fights in 2012, Tomek fought technically skilled, pure boxers in Steve Cunningham and Eddie Chambers. You will not find better ones than them. Adamek was frustrated, not rested enough to fight the way we know he can. Now, after long break, he has Tony Grano who wants to knock him out, who likes to exchange punches. Everybody knows that. You add Tony’s style with aggressive Adamek fighting ways of old and you have great fight for fans. People watching them on NBC Sports Network or in the Mohegan Sun Casino will get an all action fight. Adamek knows the stakes in fighting Grano. There are big fights in front of him. We are currently exploring couple of possibilities. They are there for him, but only if he beats Tony Grano.

For many boxing supporters, waiting for “what’s next” is the worst part…

We all understand that, but in boxing there’s no other way to do business – everything has to fit perfectly. If Adamek proves his superiority, waiting will not be so long. We hope, that at end of August, maybe start of September, Main Events will be ready to make an announcement.

Adamek before the fight with Guinn

adamek_gladysz_lead.jpg

- I have already had the last friendly match - on Friday, three quick rounds of Głazkowem. It is well, now I just relax. On Thursday, I move to the Mohegan Sun casino - said Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs), which has six days, August 3 , Connecticut, waiting for the fight against Dominick Guinn (34-9, 23 KOs) shown in the U.S. on NBC Sports Network and aired on Polsat, Poland. - How much I weigh? The car balance is not wożę, those days are over. I am, after breakfast, you just jump in on the scale, so for the curious ... is less than 220 pounds - says being in good humor "Goral", who added that "if the time and duties permit, we will be glad to come back again in August 16 Chicago cheer our boxers" .

- Training camp successful, the energy is - it can be heard even over the phone ...
Tomasz Adamek:

Energy is. I would like to go into the ring, because a lot of time has passed and December. It is easy, I have already had the last friendly match - on Friday there were three quick rounds of Głazkowem. Planned are three light training with Roger, on Thursday I move to the casino in Connecticut.Never in this state, not fighting. There are quite a few Poles, interest in fighting a large, perhaps even added some places. As always, you have to show you this important fight for me. I hope that Dominick is also not hiding behind a double garde.

- Guinn says he is a different fighter than the one with which sparowałeś in Houston in 2010. That will not be easy, as years ago.

And I'm a different fighter, so it will be a good fight. Dominic knows that the point of not being able to win, so I think I would want to risk it. Shorten the distance, jump to the left crescent, with a strong beat. I fight differently than when - less run around the ring, I ask powerful blows. I do not think he has changed, after a few minutes I will know what to do. Certainly thank him for the conference before the fight that he had accepted a proposal that will be ready to fight. At the courtesy to finish, but nothing I have to Guinn. I know it is hard, never lost by KO. We also had a common opponent - Michael Grant - but I do not know if my coach will prepare me to watch just that duel Dominica.

- In the past few hours had some interesting battles - your would-be rival Joe Hanks lost by KO with Andy Ruiz, Andre Berto was not able to Karassowi. Watched?

watched along with Roger entire fight Berto. His defeat of karass is an example of the strength, appearance does not have much to do with what you learned. Karass when it comes to muscle, with Berto looked like he was from a lower weight class, but to drive, Berto pulled in the exchange of blows. Andre instead control what happens in the ring straight punches, he wanted to fight in półdystansie, I do not know and it was over knockout. For this was too large gaps in the defense to such a fight. The head of the ring is more important than a few inches more in biceps. The Ruiz fight with Hanks saw only fragments.Like I said - Hanks also looks like a gladiator, but it is terribly hard, so mechanical. Ruiz is chubby but has a fairly quick hands and Hanks was very easy to hit. So hit

- Obligatory question about the importance of ...

How I weigh? The car balance is not wożę, those days are over, it's not light heavyweight. I am, after breakfast, you just jump in on the scale, so for all the curious and himself, for a few days in August ... It's not weighed less than 220 pounds.

Adamek did not want to publicly comment on the latest information that his promotional company, Main Events , tried on him already for next fight - with Bryant Jennings. According to our information, that are far more requests promoter Jennings, than real reality. Speculation may be due to the fact that - contrary to the oft-cited information - Bryant is not a player of Main Events, being represented by J. Russell Peltz of Philadelphia.

Adamek schools Guinn

By Mark Vaz at ringside

Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (49-2, 29 KOs) gave his former sparring partner Dominick Guinn (34-10-1, 23 KOs) a boxing demonstration en route to a one-sided unanimous decision.

Guinn had his best moments in round one, but it was all downhill from there as Adamek took over the fight from round two peppering Guinn with combinations.

Guinn was cut over the right eye by an unintentional head clash in round three and the rest of the bout resembled a sparring session as Adamek cruised to a 98-92, 99-91, 99-91 win.

And here's Dan Rafael's comments on the fight:

http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/9539511/curtis-stevens-stakes-claim-middleweight-title-shot

Tomasz Adamek W10 Dominick Guinn
Heavyweights
Scores: 99-91 (twice), 98-92
Records: Adamek (49-2, 29 KOs); Guinn (34-10-1, 23 KOs)
Rafael's remarks: Adamek, 36, a major star in his native Poland who fights out of Jersey City, N.J., has been one of the busiest heavyweight contenders in the past few years. But he was coming off an eight-month layoff following his controversial split decision victory against Steve Cunningham in their December rematch. Adamek was supposed to fight brawler Tony Grano, but when Grano suffered a disc problem in his neck and pulled out of the fight on two weeks' notice, Guinn, 38, of Hot Springs, Ark. -- whom Adamek had previously sparred with -- stepped in.

Guinn, a former heavyweight contender on the deep backside of his career, has now lost four of his past five fights and was never a serious threat to Adamek, but he hung in there. He has never been stopped, and although his right eye swelled and was cut by an accidental head-butt in the third round, Adamek never came close to knocking him out in what amounted to a glorified sparring session.

Adamek, the former cruiserweight champion and a former light heavyweight titlist, got in solid work and looked pretty good in winning his fifth fight in a row since being stopped in the 10th round by Vitali Klitschko in a 2011 heavyweight title fight in Poland. While Adamek jabbed nicely and picked his spots to attack the much slower Guinn, all Guinn could do was muster the occasional combination and follow Adamek around. CompuBox statistics illustrate just how one-sided the bout was: Adamek landed 167 of 705 punches (24 percent); Guinn landed only 59 of an anemic 203 blows (29 percent).

Adamek is hoping for one more title opportunity, but it looks like it could be a ways off. Wladimir Klitschko, with his various belts, is tied up with an Oct. 5 mandatory against Alexander Povetkin and Vitali Klitschko also has a fall mandatory coming, against Bermane Stiverne. Besides which, it's unlikely that Vitali would give Adamek another shot after blowing him out when they met in 2011. More likely, Adamek could be headed to a crossroads fight with the up-and-coming Bryant Jennings (17-0, 9 KOs).

Watched the fight Saturday night, Adamek fought a great fight. He came close to stopping Guinn in the last two rounds, Guinn had a badly swollen eye and was taking some big shots in the last round. Guinn is a tough guy, and in like 50 or so career fights, has never been stopped, so Adamek almost stopping him is quite impressive.

Great win for Adamek.
