Kind of a no win fight I think. He'll beat him and people will just say so what, yet Grant is still dangerous. He's won eight fights in a row. He's not just an "opponent". What I'd really like to see him fight is that Afro-British Gaye boy.

I do not want to see Adamek fight Haye! Davey boy wanted to be a heavyweight! SO! He need's to fight a big heavyweight! Haye said he's the best in the world, I say he's not even the best " cruiser!" that moved up to heavyweight! Adamek is....Edited by: lost

I agree 100%. Adamkek would've beaten Haye at CW and has at least a 50/50 (I'd make TA a 60/40 favorite) chance of winning IMO and his chances of beating Haye go up with each round. TA really only needs to avoid walking into something stupid (especially early) because he has the skills to win a decision or more likely to TKO Haye late.

Adamek-Haye would be a big fight. Adamek is very well respected in the Polish community and has a huge following. The only thing is that I doubt the fight would happen here at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Haye would probably only agree to fight in England.

Q&A: Tomasz Adamek

More than decade ago, Grant was considered one of the new wave of great American fighters. In 1999 he fought Andrew Golota, went down twice but won the fight when Golota inexplicably quit in the tenth round. Did you see this fight?

Yeah, and a couple more, when Grant fought my recent sparring partner Dominick Guinn or his latest KO win, barely weeks ago. Grant is tough to fight: unbelievable reach, close to 7 feet, around 250 pounds"¦

An American version of the Klitschko brothers"¦

Exactly, this is the idea behind this fight. We were seriously discussing other options: Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr, Hasim Rahman, but in reality none of those fights would prepare me better for the â€" I hope â€" inevitable war with one of Klitschkos. Maybe I could earn couple of dollars more using other guy's popularity, but I'm in this for the long haul, championship in 2011. I needed tests like Grant, because none of my previous heavyweight opponents was like him. It should not be a surprise for anyone that I'm not blindly jumping into any world championship opportunity. Even before Arreola fight, my trainers Roger Bloodworth and Ronnie Shields spoke publicly that I need two more additional fights to be a complete boxer, ready to fight the big guys. I trust my coaches.

What would happen if you will get a chance to fight for the title in December and both Bloodworth and Shields are saying "no,"Â￾ but there is a lot of money in stake?

Last decision is always the fighter's decision. Coaches are not wearing gloves in the ring. This will never change.

You start training in couple of weeks in Atlantic City, where Bloodworth will prepare his other fighter, David Tua. Sparring, just because height difference between David and Michael makes no sense. Maybe Golota?

I don't think so, there are better choices. This is Roger's and Ronnie's decision; they know what I need to be perfectly prepared. It's just the beginning, then again moving from my home in New Jersey for at least eight weeks to Houston. The hotter version of Texas, I only heard about from Ronnie when I was training there before Chris Arreola fight in March and April.

You mentioned that you want to become a "complete fighter"Â￾ in the next 6-8 months. What does it mean?

I have to utilize my speed and precision even more. Use my championship experience from light heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions, to move better, be an enigma for the opposite fighter. They should guess all the time where I'm and what punch is coming their way. If I can do this, I'm already half way to championship.

For the first time, you will be fighting on PPV"¦

It's a natural progression, extending my fan base even more. I have more and more fans around the world, not only Polish fans, but those guys you can find everywhere, so it works well for everybody. I'm of course looking forward for all those white and red wearing crazies in the Prudential Center, but this way, they can follow me on TV wherever they are.

For Michael Grant it will be great, and probably last chance, to be back in the elite of heavyweight division. He will be desperate and highly motivated. Dangerous?

I know this. I also know that he will not win by decision. He has to knock me out, no other choice for him. I like it this when somebody has to fight certain way. I always have a cool head in the ring; love to analyze what's going on and then strike. I don't predict I will knock him out; I never do this, but maybe I can try something extra for my fans.

In couple of days, you countryman Albert Sosnowski will fight overwhelming favorite, world title holder Vitali Klitschko. Your best advice?

I'm sure Albert has enough of that from his coaching staff. I read somewhere that he wants to use his ring generalship, some speed to beat Klitschko. Not sure it would work in his case, though. He should just make this a street fight, just risk everything and try to rattle Vitali. Just forget you are in the ring, make this something personal.

I love Adamek but he's just talking nonsense here. Michael Grant will prepare him for Klitscho? Grant is a slow plodding buffoon who can't fight his way out of a paper bag. He's not even half the fighter Klitscho is. I would have preferred he fought Roy Jones. Grant has a nice record with only 3 losses but who has he beaten that is legit. He got destroyed by Lennox Lewis and Jameel Mcline. Golota was dominating him until he inexplicably quit. Lou Savarese is probably Grant's biggest win and that's not saying much.

Just maybe inasmuch he's very large sized, like a large size sparring partner.

Good advice from Adamek. Corrie Sanders showed the way to fight the K brothers in round one, but Sosnowski isn't CS, and the K's are much better now besides. I think the bookies have Wlad a fantastic 50-1 favorite!

WW, I know what he means by that. Yes, Grant is a very big guy at 6'7 with an 86 inch reach. So what? If Adamek wanted a big guy to prepare him for the Klitschko fight there are much better options like Tony Thompson or Alexander Dimitrenko. Those guys are good fighters unlike Grant who is a bum. Have you ever watched Grant fight?

I don't think it's such a terrible fight, WA. Grant is 46-3 with 34 KO's. He's won eight in a row and 15 out of his last 16.

Yes but Grant beat bums. Alexander Dimitrenko or Alexander Ustinov would be better fights for Adamek if he wanted a big guy to fight. They are both superior fighters to Grant,. Adamek will get more respect for beating a black heavyweight. That's just the way it is.

But dose adamek want to set on his a** for six months? Ustinov and Dimitrenko are still top fighters, They will not put their names's on anything to fast, Grant is a big man, and a good fighter, Pluis, He's looking for a payday...

If he were to face Ustinov he would have to wait as he has a fight in July. Dimitrenko hasn't fought in almost a year when he lost to Chambers. He could have went that route.

Also i don't really want to see the top up and coming white fighters eliminating each other. I'd rather see them chasing the few remaining Great Black Dopes out of the heavyweight division.

There aren't many blacks that can compete with the Eastern Euro fighters. The best black heavyweight is probably Eddie Chambers. The best black cruiserweight is Steve Cunningham and that's about it. The only thing that disappoints me is that two blacks are fighting for the vacant cruiserweight title. Grigory Drozd, Alexander Alexeev, Pawel Kolodziej, and Denis Lebedev are just a few of the fighters that should have gotten a title shot against Steve Cunningham for the vacant title. Instead another black hope(Troy Ross) has that honor.

Grant is a good tuneup fight before facing either KlitschkO brother IMO, especially since TA can't get a title fight right now. Grant has similar size and power as the Klits so it will be interesting to see how TA adapts to fighting someone that big and powerful. The more Adamek fights at HW (allowing his body adjust to the extra weight) the better he will get, I've already noticed a difference in his strength against Arreola. TA's body is going to be a true HW when he gets his title shot (which he's earned unlike another CW who moved up to HW) which will give him a small chance against the Klits and at least a 50/50 chance against Haye IMO.

I would like to see him fight Haye and not the Klitschko's. The Haye fight is very winnable for him. There is some talk about Haye retiring in a year or two so he may take the coward way out. With so many good heavyweights like Povetkin, Adamek, Dimitrenko, and even Chagaev Haye wants to fight Audley Harrison.

The fight with Bell was the turning point in Adamek's career. After his loss to Dawson at light heavyweight he fought two guys at cruiser and beat them easily. Bell however was a real test at cruiserweight. He's a former champ and Adamek dominated him the entire fight.

Some news regarding Adamek. From Fightnews:

Integrated Sports
Media, North America's undisputed champion of major pay-per-view boxing
distribution, has announced that it will broadcast the IBF International
and NABO heavyweight titles fight on August 21st. "The Big Challenge"Â￾
main event clashes two-time light heavyweight and cruiserweight world
champion, and current The Ring Magazine number 5 heavyweight in the
world, Tomasz "Goral"Â￾ Adamek (41-1, 27 KO) against former heavyweight
contender "Big"Â￾ Michael Grant (46-3, 34 KO). Additionally, boxing fans
around the world will see always dangerous Columbian, Joel Julio (35-4,
31 KO), live from the Prudential Center "The Big Challenge"Â￾, presented
by Main Events, Ziggy Promotions and X-Cel Worldwide, is being
distributed in North America by Integrated Sports Media for live viewing
at 9PM EST / 6PM PST on both cable and satellite pay-per-view via iN
Demand, DIRECTV, Avail-TVN and DISH Network in the United States and
Viewer's Choice and Bell TV in Canada for a suggested retail price of
$29.95. </span>

This main event has more subplots than a James Bond movie. In 1999,
Michael Grant beat another Polish heavyweight hopeful, Andrew Golota. In
addition, Grant will have Eddie Mustafa Muhammad in his corner, the
same trainer who guided light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson to
dealing Adamek his only professional defeat. Asked if he was surprised
that Team Adamek offered to fight his fighter, Muhammad did not
hesitate: "Main Events and Adamek's manager just committed a grave
error. I was sure that while waiting for a championship fight for
Adamek, they would look for somebody easy, a guy who would not pose any
threat to their fighter. Michael is not one of those guys. I'm sorry to
say, my Polish friends, but Michael will badly beat up another one of
your boxing stars. Adamek should have never agreed to this fight"Â￾.</font>

I'm not sure what Grant has left but he isn't taking the Adamek fight for the pay cheque. Fightnews has some photos of the two posing and he looks reasonably fit. He also looks normal looking now. I think he lost his connection to the steroid dealer that fueled his first career as the terminator muscles are gone....
