The curious case of Chivas USA

Chivas USA is the secondary MLS team in the Los Angeles market. They share the soccer-specific stadium Home Depot Center in the adjacent suburb of Carson with the much more popular and prolific LA Galaxy. While the Galaxy sell out their home games (perhaps) by virtue of success (multiple MLS Cups) and fame (David Beckham until this year, Landon Donovan, etc), Chivas USA plays a lot of home games in front of an echo chamber of empty seats. No grassroots fans from Los Angeles have taken up the cause of this upstart squad despite the familiar brand name.

Chivas de Guadelajara is maybe the most renowned and prolific Mexican club team. The owner, Jorge Vergara, who is technically a celebrated drug smuggler, bought into an MLS franchise with the expectation of grabbing the "American" market-share of hispanic fans. The team has been abysmal, and attendance reflects that.

Vergara, a Mexican big-wig, saw an untapped market. He purchased full holding control of the MLS team this year and quickly declared a new strategy to bring this team "up to speed", if you will:

"They tried to imitate the MLS style, which is more physical," Vergara said of the team. "They forgot to use the technical advantage and the speed of the Mexican and the Hispanic players. We didn't play like the U.S.; we didn't play like the Mexicans. We didn't play like nothing."

This is a toned-down level of ethno-centricity and HBD on behalf of the "victims" of such crimethink. The mexican hundred-millionaire believes that hispanics have a faster speed and superior skill-set against individual non-mexican players. So, he seeks a team full of mexicans (hispanic-Americans) that embody his desired "style" of play. He speaks outrightly for it.

Chivas USA is now down to maybe 8 out of 20 roster players that are "non-hispanic", and they have exclusively jettisoned their previous starters who were not so mountain-gnomadically inclined. This is under the pretense that the Mexicans in Los Angeles will flock to a team of their own. The team's three MLS draft picks were hispanic.

I don't fundamentally disagree with this idea, but I wish the racially-charged motivation could hold true with any other club (or sport). I wish that a basketball team could publicly pine for a "White" style of game, or soccer for that matter could idealize a "White" fashion of play. I also wish that an invasive foreign culture would not impose itself on my country.

Here is how fat turd Ives Galarcep, professional sports journalist, summarizes the policy:

The difference is Chivas USA can make the argument that their preference of Mexican players is tied into a stylistic preference, with Mexican players playing soccer differently than non-Mexicans in general and Americans specifically. Not sure an MLS team could make same argument for fielding all-white roster.

It is impossible to look this Janus-face straight in the eyes.

It's culture not race, they tell us. This particular culture, however, can only be possessed by Mexicans. Whites are disqualified from possessing a unique culture because White countries are for everyone, we're all the same, etc.

The way this country is now, which is ruined, I wouldn't mind having teams of our own people.

It shouldn't have even come to this, but that's the way it is.

The crazy thing is that was the way Europe used to be up until the late 90's. You had the English, Italians, Germans supporting their own people in their very own country. Now that is being ruined.

It's a disgrace that Mexicans can get away with this though. We know whites couldn't.

They can come into this country illegally and some legally and then get their own team, but white Americans can't. It show what a joke this country is.

i guess that in the US it's forbidden to have ethincally based teams too
in france and in most of europe it's forbidden
there are ethnically based teams but everyone can play in them
for example in my city there is a gipsy team, a portuguese team, an arab-italian team (the fusion between an arab club and an italian club)
but you can play for those teams even if you're not of those ethnicities
but ofcourse whites wouldn't want to play in non-white teams
but if a white team was created, non-whites would want to play in it, and nobody could prevent them from entering the club, otherwise it would be discrimination, and in europe you can't do that

Ex-Chivas USA coaches file suit

chivas-hdc-attendance.png

Caption: Typical Chivas Crowd in Los Angeles?

Arch Wigger Marxist, Alexi Lalas, was discussing this matter a few days ago when “Team Jew.S.A” was getting thumped by Belgium. Given that the Chivas USA lawsuit demonstrated open racism against whites, Lalas and his white co-anchor feigned indignation for a few seconds, simply uttering: “It’s a situation we’ll have to keep an eye on moving forward.” Yeah, right.

Like the NFL/NBA/MLB, MLS is littered with non-white players who, in a colorblind world, simply wouldn’t be professional athletes. This lawsuit is more proof of their illegitimacy.

How much would the MLS's average attendance go up without Chivas?

I assume a percentage of MLS's most rabid fans love the "Euro Centric" names, but the vast majority of American's simply can't relate to "Club Names" and this gives them another reason to tune out soccer and MLS. Evidence the last MLS Cup between Real Salt Lake and Sporting KC, which got putrid ratings -- TBS re-runs of that lame, old Ray Romano show got better rating than the league's championship game.

i feel the same about the local (european) US sports teams that have "american style" names, usually with animals in it
