It seems NFL draft day brings out a uniquely committed (and remedial) DWF. A lunatic, willing to take off work, sleep on a sidewalk & wait all night in line for his wristband to attend.. shamelessly going nuts over his team's latest unproven commodity. I understand optimism for your team's future, but screaming uninhibitedly for a guy who's never taken a snap in the NFL yet (?)
They remind me of the hard-core sci-fi/comic fans I used to see camping out in front of the Chinese Theater..

Good observation. I can sorta kinda understand someone getting caught up in the moment (and beer) at a game and getting weird but planning to attend a draft and be ready to cheer for whatever affalete the geniuses that run your team decide to gamble a few million dollars on? Idiocy and madness.

Unfortunately we live in a world where not only is such foolishness not frowned upon but is in fact encouraged. I wonder if these guys don't realize that many people look at them and think they are not cool but crazy? Maybe if you're young and want to get dressed up in a costume, like a child, and pretend you are something you are not, but shouldn't there be a point you grow out of that? The answer of course is no, you never have to grow up in amerika 2.0 where reality can be ignored with no negative consequences.

Unfortunately until people have to spend more time in important activities this kind of idle time (and mind) wasting stuff will continue to attract the weak minded.

I used to look forward to draft day, but now I actually dread it. However, the masochistic part of me watches it anyway just so I can see how many white players get screwed over and to see how my hometown team (the Dolphins) will pass over every one of them. Its so incredibly frustrating. The only thing we can do is to write emails to the NFL, boycott going to the games, and try to educate some of the DWF's on what is really happening. Most of them wont listen, but if say.... 1 of 10 DWF's actually listens and stops and thinks about this situation, it can be seen as a moral victory.

I agree.. I think, even in 1 a 100 makes a difference.. especially if that one ends up in a team's front office one day, or in the sports agent business.

I heard Dan Patrick interviewing Ryan Swope a few days pre-draft, heres a deeply entrenched member of the same-stream sports media, but he was asking why ppl only compare Swope to other White receivers.. He told Swope, w/his speed, he should be viewed just like any other deep-ball threat (of any race.) It was delivered light-heartedly, but still a brief foray, a brief glimmer.. into a fair, realistic world-view on sports.

Nice video. It does give you an idea of what we are up against, and why the caste system is so effective. The folks who spend the money and fund all of this are completely ignorant and accept what they are given. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same responses given by the "scouts" and "personnel" people on the teams. Similarly, if Rivals created a "top 100" prospect list out of thin air, all of the fictional "players" would have D1 offers.

Dude that video is hilarious!! Thanks for posting it. I gotta be honest, I think all pre draft talk goes something like the people in that video. I don't follow the players that closely so many "big" names are unknown to me and might as well be "Buster Hyman" for all I care. I hear yahoos calling up the sports talk stations and going on about a guy they know nothing about. Virtually every player is a super star, especially of course if he is obviously black, like DeSenaca Jones, or Obigobywe Alijacon, hey I just made up two mid second round picks!!!
