Raphael Varane with his disastrous match against Man City int the quarter-final, Raheem Sterling's failure to score a tap-in that would have equalized in the 85th minute against Lyon in the quarter-final, Lukaku's own goal in a cup final against Sevilla, Mbappe's shooting straight at Neuer from a couple of yards out - black "stars" have had absolutely catastrophic displays in this past season's biggest cup matches.

After missing the the entirety of 2019-20 season to injury and also the lockdown, Florian Thauvin had a terrific match in Marseille's opener against Brest, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. He should be favored to reclaim his spot in the French national team should he stay fit and in form.

22 year-old Danish striker Kasper Dolberg with Nice scored twice over the weekend. This kid may have some potential

Ajax's golden trio from the club's historic 2018/19 season has moved on.

Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona for €75 million

Mathijs de Ligt joined Juventus for €75 million

Donny van de Beek has joined Manchester United for €40 million

With Kovacic and Pulisic signing permanently in 2019 and the signings of Havertz, Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Ziyech and Werner, Chelsea has done terrific work in the transfer market and I think is a club that we should support this upcoming season

Chelsea are the side to follow for sure. Hopefully Giroud will keep ahead of Abraham too. Man City, Utd and Tottenham not bad either.

Liverpool are a side I'm totally against, horrible what's happened there. Arsenal have a huge amount of talent, but so much darkness in attacking positions turns me against them. On a big positive, they have two of fastest, most athletic full backs in world football.

Chelsea's main problem last season was its pitch-black central defense, which Lampard could do nothing about due to the transfer ban that was in place. Not coincidentally, they leaked some of the most goals of any club in the league.

    Let's hope it happens

Chelsea have been urged bring ‘this era’s Michael Carrick’ to Stamford Bridge by signing Declan Rice as a replacement for N’Golo Kante.

Kante has been linked with a move away from the Blues this summer, with reported interest from clubs in Italy and the London club slapping him with a £80million price tag.

And, should the two-time Premier League champion depart, Jamie O’Hara insists they should spend that money on trying to prise Rice away from their capital rivals West Ham.

First game is Monday and it will be televised on NBCSN. An embarrassment of riches. It took me one second to make up my mind on which team I will be rooting for the most. Everywhere you turn there is a stud. Shouldn't we have a Premier League 2020-2021 thread?

The US Men's Band of B*stards played Wales to a scoreless draw today in front of an empty stadium in far-off lands. Mediocre placeholder coach Gregg Berhalter opted for a "European-based" roster to work around arbitrary international COVID restrictions (and spare in-season MLS teams). The resulting roster formation was a record number of U23 non-white players that accentuated a remarkable trend in European player speculation.

At least a handful of these non-white players are not officially cap-tied, so this setting was meant to "lure" them into committing to the Great Satan.

The most amazing aspect of the roster was the murderer's row of top Euro teams who already own the US starters:

Subtracting the sole (white) MLS player, LA Galaxy's Sebastien Lletget, 8 of the 10 starters are under Champions League team umbrellas. The canard that Americans don't get a fair shake in Europe appears to have fully expired, although white Americans abroad still seem quite sparse.

Of the 24-man roster, I counted 5 whites: starters Matt Miazga, LLetget, Giovanni Reyna (Argentinian-Portuguese descent), and backups Ethan Horvath and Tim Ream. Johnny Cardoso (Brazilian), Sebastian Soto (Chilean-Mexican), and Richard Ledesma (Mexican), pass muster but would probably self-identify otherwise. Pulisic was notably absent due to injury.

When Berhalter has chosen "domestic-based" rosters full of MLS players, this ratio of white/non-white players nearly flips. Of course, the MLS players trend much older and are more likely to fall into standard caste descriptions, ie heady, composed veterans with low upside and physical limitations. It will be interesting to see the blend when the US finally starts playing competitive matchups again.

One trait that these blessed globalist youths share with their oppressed American kinsmen is bravery. They are willing to really go against the grain and rebel against the systems of white racism, patriarchy, hegemony, heteronormativity, and speech suppression. Despite those lofty hurdles, they managed to voice their generalized displeasure by wearing a hodgepodge of words and slogans on their warm-up kits.

** this display is a concession for not outright kneeling during the national anthem, which is more than the US Women's team was willing to agree to

    US-Gay! US-Gay! US-Gay!

Now while you’re kicking around a ball for social justice and fighting fascism, don’t forget to wear your masks.

Probably the most dynamic player that I have ever seen live died two days ago. Maradona could weave through defenses and get defenders to converge on him and then weave through them with dynamic runs and score in a more violent era of football.

While not truly White as he was probably Castizo when he was fit he looked more European than he looked in recent years when was bloated and fat and slowly dying from a hedonistic lifestyle in his prime. Here's a tribute to him roughly a month before he died...https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/news/1615168/the-big-read-maradona-the-fc-barcelona-years

Very, very sad, rest in peace, Diego Armando Maradona!

I never got the chance to watch him live, as I am in my 30s, but he is without a shred of doubt in the pantheon of all-time greats and has a strong claim to be regarded as the best ever football player. A S.S.C. Napoli legend, Maradona won the ultimate prize in football by leading his country to a World Cup triumph in 1986 and as you pointed out, he was very passionate and bravely rode many tackles that in today's game would result in an instant dismissal for the defender. I remember that he was very approachable and encouraging towards his players when he managed the Argentina national football team. I also like how he refused to blame the altitude in La Paz when his national side suffered a heavy defeat in a World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.

While hotheaded and willing to break certain rules, he had a charismatic personality and was a good guy.

This clip that I recently discovered is a wonderful tribute to him:

It shows how carefree and confident in his abilities Maradona was, at the same time being able to instill belief in his teammates who were considered slight underdogs in this match.

Some nice photos can be found here as well:
