Chris DiMarco played tremendously today. I won't say he deserved to win because the golfing gods apparently still favor Tiger.
What DiMarco did by staying with Woods, catching him and coming oh so close to beating him, helped dispel a little more of Tiger's "aura." Early onCBS's talking headswere all but giving it to him in a runaway. At one point Lanny Wadkins said that no one thought DiMarco had a chance except maybe DiMarco himself.
I highly doubt that this will be the beginning of a dominant run likeWoods had from '99-'02. DiMarco has been just under the radar of golfing greatness for several years, at least today he made himself a lot of fans.
