I don't think anyone at Caste has yet mentioned Richard "Rick" Mullaney, a wide receiver and safety for Thousand Oaks High School. He was the leading receiver in California for the fall 2010 season with a state record 122 receptions and more than 1,700 yards and 21 TDs. He's a lanky 6'3" and 185 lbs. yet surprisingly strong and has among the best hands and spring I've ever seen. The town of Thousand Oaks had the best two receivers in Ventura County (and possibly in the state) this past season in Mullaney and Nelson Spruce (who has been mentioned at Caste) at Westlake High School. There is a good highlight film of Mullaney on YouTube. He looks like a man among boys. He's also a starter on the Thousand Oaks High basketball team and could be a track star if he gave it some effort. He has accepted a full scholarship to Oregon State.

Rick Mullaney was named to the Cal-Hi Sports first team offense All-State as an end. Of the 11 players named to the first team 7 are white, including 3 of the 4 backs. Another Thousand Oaks kid, Nick Isham, at Westlake High School, was named first team "All Purpose."
