Brock is the QB and DB for Giddings, a small 3A school in central Texas. He may be the most explosive runner in Texas and is being compared to Jordan Peterson, the starting CB for Texas A&M who is from a nearby small town, Lexington, TX. As a SOPHMORE last year, Brock ran the option attack gaining 2,465 yds rushing for 36 TDs (avg 10 ypc) and passing for 700 yds and 11 TDs. So far this year he is the leading rusher in Central Texas for all divisions (which includes the powerhouse 5A programs in Austin, Temple, Killeen, and Waco) rushing for over 1000 yds (10.28 ypc).

At 5-10", 175 lbs, he is projected as a CB in college. Runs the 40 in 4.42 sec and is a state champion sprinter on the track team. He is being recruited by TCU, Colorado, and Miami, but I can't imagine that Texas, Texas A&M, or Texas Tech would let him go out of state. Good luck Brock.

Miami and TCU?!? they must not have seen video of him yet, otherwise how could they recruit a guy who obviously isn't fast enough?

Jeremy Shockey and Dan Morgan made it there.

Those to players have NFL Hall of Fame talent. Not saying they'er going to Canton just saying they have that type of ability. So I would consider Shockery and Morgan as exceptions because they are so good and they played positions that caste experts deem white people okay to play at.

Good point.

Miamia usually has a white TE, but Morgan was a stunner. Either way, neither are a CB which would be groundbreaking at da U.

Giddings lost in the quarterfinals this past weekend as Brock was hurt in the first half and had to leave the game. He ends the season with 2865 rushing yds and 28 TDs to lead the central Texas region in rushing.

The team that beat Giddings is Liberty Hill, who feature a white FB (Doug Allman) and a white HB (Brent Bode). In the central Texas area, Bode ranks second behind Fitzhenry with 1,911 yds and Allman ranks fifth with 1,715 yds. They have a combined 54 TDs. Hell of a one-two punch. For the Giddings game, Allman had 166 yds and Bode had 61 yds. Unfortunately, neither kid is getting recruited.

Steve,

have you done any digging and found out the measurables and things of that sort regarding the two backs from Liberty Hill? what's the whole "story" on why they aren't getting looks?

any new news on who is checking out Brock?

Brent Bode was the QB in the Wing-T for Liberty Hill last year so that could be a reason why he isn't getting any looks at RB. As far as Brock is concerned, no new news as to which colleges are recruiting him, but I would say he would be a perfect fit for Texas Tech and their spread offense. He could be a great slot receiver that could run the reverse and reverse pass.

Bode was the slot back this past year in LH's slot-T offense. It's not a true RB position. Most of his carries were around the end with a few inside traps. Before DeBerry stepped down, he was getting some looks from the Air Force Academy for one of their hybrid receiver-rb positions, but nothing else as of now. Because of his build, he projects as a receiver at the next level; a position he hasn't played or had much work at. I expect he'll go to a juco to learn the position and then see what opens up after that. He still has quite a bit of physical maturing to do, which gives him a lot of upside.

Allman, the FB, is just a junior, so we'll see if offers start coming his way. He's a hell of a fullback, but that's a position that's almost forgotten in today's offenses. Height might work against Doug as he's only about 5'9 or 5'10, but that low center of gravity is what makes him so effective. He'll play in college somewhere.

Thanks for the info LHPanthers. I try to follow all of the high school action in Texas, but it is a big state. Any help that you can give is appreciated.

Brock has given a verbal commitment to University of Texas. I am glad he got an offer from a big time program. Good luck Brock, we'll be watching you.

I'll be honest and say that despite the fact that Texas is a big time program, I'm disappointed he's going there. If he was looking to stay in state I would prefer him to go to Texas A&M, but good luck to Brock.

I haven't mentioned anything about Brock this season, but he is having a fine senior year. He has led his team to a perfect 11-0 record including a first round playoff win last night. He is second in the Central Texas region in rushing with 193 rushes for 1662 yds and 24 TDs. He is looking in good form for a big playoff run.
