Wallin was easily handling the shot Kaufmann, but Kaufmann had a shoulder injury and cut short his inevitable wide points loss or late round ko/tko. Wallin seems to be a PBC guy so he will be probably in the mix for a fight with Ruiz on the comeback trail or even Wilder in a stay busy fight or on the comeback trail after getting his head handed to him by Fury. If he can win either fight he will get a 7 figure title fight at some point against either Fury or for a possible splintered belt against another ranked contender. The various sanctioning bodies have already stated that Joshua and Fury have overdue mandatory title fights that will be an impediment to the Fury vs Joshua 100 million showdown.
It's a very winnable bout as Breazeale is a cigar store Indian type heavyweight who can be out boxed and even stopped if you have decent power. Plus he took two horrific beatings in two championship fights and has had wars that he won to earn his second title fight against Wilder, the treads on his tires have to be thinning.
Good fight. Should be a nice win for Wallin. It's on in an indian gambling ("gaming") casino in Connecticut where a bunch of people are living tax free and raking in tax free sheckels from a Mafia gambling casino, splitting the proceeds that the mob leaves them with the local politicians, pretending to be part of a long assimilated long gone American indian tribe. Brezeale hasn't fought in almost two years since he got terribly KO'd by Wilder. Wallin: I Truly Hope I Get Fury Again, I Believe He Beats Joshua https://www.boxingscene.com/wallin-i-truly-hope-i-get-fury-again-i-believe-he-beats-joshua--155533 It's on Showtime (i.e. youknowwhatwedo) fights start 9PM ET but will be cluttered up with the usual crap prelims and a Broner fight.
ESPN, Dazn, and ShowTime all have cards Sat. night. All within an hour of each other. Hope for quick ko's.
Wallin, if his career is to advance, he must look good to great in stopping his contender like opponent. Else, his valiant effort against Fury will be considered a one off fluke performance.
I don't know if he can't punch or doesn't sit down on his punches for fear of counter punching. It was a decent workman like performance but late in the fight Breazeale was able to land some decent shots as Wallin tired. I think he could have gotten a stoppage if he had the urgency to finish to his opponent who looks as shot as Kaufmann looked in his previous fight. Beyond a jab and some mauling in fighting shots Breazeale couldn't land anything on the outside and Wallin could time his shots on an egg timer. PS guys like Wallin need to market themselves for big fights and koing his cigar store Indian opponent could have done that and set him up for bigger fights with fatter purses.
Agreed. Wallin if he wants to improve and excel he needs a strength and conditioning trainer. He needs to step it up. Or just stop.
I never watched Youtube clown Broner bore me to death I was too busy seeing Berchelt vs Valdez and seeing possibly the ko of the year fight...
