Good one tonight. Breakdown of some key players.

Oregon State-Bill Swancutt--pro potential DE. Good quickness.

Mike Hass WR-good pro potential--gets downfield. Maybe Joe Jurevicious is a good comparison

Sabby Piscitelli S--great size and speed. Have to think pro scouts are looking at him. Only a sophmore I believe.

Notre Dame-Matt Shelton WR--With his lithe Steve Finley build and speed he seems better suited for baseball.Runs track at ND. Probably not a pro prospect but he is called upon to run straight down the field and blow by defenders which as expected he has done regurlarly this year. Only a junior so one more year of this fun player. Tore acl senior year of Hifgh school which slowed development.

Tom Zbikowski-S--Best athlete on field. Only a redshirt freshman I believe. Tom was a sprinter and boxer in HS. Wierd combo for sure. Anyway has 4.3 speed and is the real deal. In my opinion has first round draft pick written all over him. Should be a corner actually--but compares favorably to Stu Shweigart now on the Raiders. More potential even. Basically a stud out there. Paul Hornung must be throwing up somewhere.

Zbolpowski was actually a h.s. quarterback too!I guess
they were afraid that he might actually be as good as
Eric Crouch and we can't have athletic white qb's
winning the Heisman now can we.That would hurt the
myth that only blacks can be mobile qb's. He should be
on offense at wide receiver or at corner like you said.
Mike Haas is as good as any receiver that I have seen in
college all year long.Bill Swancutt should be playing on
Sundays too.Should be a great game.Too bad I won't be
home from work until it's over.Hopefully they will re
air it later tonight since my vcr isn't recording right
now.

I remember going to the website of one of those dubious organizations that rank high school players for recruiting purposes (they all strictly abide by the caste system at this crucial stage) and reading about Zbikowski. He was faster than any of the cornerbacks listed, but had somehow transmorgified from a cornerback to a safety prospect. Same thing the same year with Brad Mueller, a Penna. state sprint champion and dominant tailback and cornerback, who magically became a college safety.

Should be a good game to watch. Oregon State is one of my favorite teams this year, and Notre Dame has more whites on offense and defense than in quite a few years.

ND also has a good tight end, I believe it's Fasano.
I'll be flipping between that game and the Gonzaga
game on ESPN2.

Well with about 10 minutes to go in the game,Notre Dame
is lame.lol. Oregon State is winning 31 to 14.Mike Haas
is having a good game with almost 100 yards receiving.
Derek Anderson will be a very high qb pick in the NFL
Draft. He has more yards than Andrew Walter and doesn't
get near the hype.Anderson is a very gifted quarterback.
He has well over 10000 yards passing. At or very near the
best ever in the PAC Ten.I just wanted to make sure that
he get's the credit he deserves. He had a great career
and will play on Sundays.I feel bad for Haas next season'
with a inexperienced qb throwing the ball.It will be hard
for him to have 3 straight 1000 yard seasons.Mike Haas
might want to consider going pro right now.

Good points about Zbikowski guys.. Second coming of Crouch but alas was not to be. Game was flat and Hass was open all night but dropped at least two easy big gainers. Zbikowskiwould be a better corner than the guys NDhave at the moment.Shelton did not play due to injury. ND sure could have used him because their O was stagnant.

Tonight on tvOhio State and their excellent linebackers and Dustin Fox. Fox has been underrated his whole college career.

Mueller is with BC but has yet to surface. Maybe in 2005?

Oregon State was 5-3 in the PAC 10 this year. They lost to LSU by one point and to USC by only eight. Interestingly enough they lost to Boise State by 21 this year. The team that scored the most points on them - also Boise state with 55.

Ohio State started 13 whites tonight, 7 on D and 6 on O. The QB was Justin Zwick, who looks far better than the black starter, who was suspended. They also are starting a WR named Tony Gonzalez, who looks European, unlike the Kansas City TE. All the announcers can talk about in this game is Ohio State freshman Ted Ginn Jr. Non-stop praise the whole game.

Oklahoma State's black starting QB is terrible. So was Iowa State's last night against Miami. Even the announcers in that game were wondering why he wasn't throwing at all to WR Todd Blythe, who has been the best freshman receiver in the country this year. Were there any good black QBs in college this year? The best was probably Chris Leak, and as noted on another thread he is far from great.

On an unrelated note, I was glad to see Paul Pasqualoni get fired today. Of the four big northeast programs, Penn State, Pitt, Boston College and Syracuse, Pasqualoni's teams were almost always the blackest, usually with a black QB too. He was also the coach who lured Rob Konrad to Syracuse after his record setting high school running career in Massachusetts by letting him wear the program's sacred number 44, previously only worn by great tailbacks ala Jim Brown, and then sprung the caste system special on him -- blocking fullback who got the occasional touch. Good riddance!

Speaking of overrated QB's what about Misourri's Brad Smith. Hailed as the second coming of Vick he stank up the joint all year but got a pass from the media who blamed his lousy season on the coach and the "new offensive structure" . Syracuse has a very fast player named Steven Gregory. Initially a CB he was moved to receiver this year. I was surprised he was moved over to the offense. Might hurt his pro chances. Anyway Ohio States D was awesome last night. I admit Ginn has serious talent but the media overdrive was firmly in place regarding him last night.

In a late game tonightkeep and eye on two Northern Illinois players. Dan Sheldon and CB Rob Lee.
