I know there are some teachers on the site. (or at least there used to be before the Great Drop Off) so this item should be of interest. Coming to a school near you.

I'd push for concealed carry in schools if I were a teacher.

Board members of California's Oakland Unified School District unanimously voted on Wednesday to cease suspending students for what they call "willful defiance." Those behaviors can include swearing/yelling at teachers, refusing direct orders, texting, and storming out of class, to name a few.

The reason? Concern that too many black students are being suspended for willful defiance.

One sophomore student, Dan'enicole Williams, told the San Francisco Gate, "They never take time out, if someone is sleeping in class, to ask what’s wrong. They may be acting that way because they didn’t eat the night before.â€￾

"We’re getting pushed out of schools,â€￾ she added. “They don’t care about us.â€￾

Along with suspensions, the new policy will also include bans on expulsions and transfers of students to other schools for multiple infractions.

Public schools are becoming catastrophic failures, due to an obsession with trying to close the performance gaps between Black kids & White/Asian kids (at any cost). City of Minneapolis went thru this recently. The city hired a Black superintendent, who was hyper-focused on reducing suspensions of Black kids. She feigned ignorance, publicly stating that she doesn't know why Black kids receive more suspensions, but then still moved forward w/a backwards policy implying it's solely the fault of racist, anti-Black teachers. There's never an objective accounting that maybe the kids are just disproportionately misbehaving.

Anyways, short story long, only 36% of Minneapolis' Black & Latino students were graduating on time under her watch.. test score gap never closed.. so she said she needed to focus on her family, & resigned mid-school year. With standards lowering to try and close performance gaps & discipline being demonized, inner city public schools are unfortunately just free babysitting services now. Should probably convert to more realistic, full-on trade school training.

Whether by official policy change or what is actually practiced in a particular public school (I mean government indoctrination center), this kind of thing has become more and more common in recent years. I decry it in my classes on a regular basis, and I explain why it's wrong as well. As what's left of the U.S. moves further and further away from being a society based on individuals (especially diversities, but everyone to some extent) being responsible for their own actions, you and I will see more of this happening.

Are you a teacher, Colonel Reb? I'm kind of new here.

The Colonel is indeed an educator, & a fine southern gentleman as well. :)

Yep, they have been counting numbers on suspensions for a long time now. The NAACP, Justice Department, and all the government overseers have been on this for a long time. The end effect is similar to our justice system; the need to suspend more white kids for minor offenses to equalized the numbers.

As far as graduation rates, they have something called graduating on an IEP. The kids with bad behavior patterns get labeled as disabled emotionally/behaviorally (EBD) and go on an IEP. The IEP allows them to graduate without earning the normal amount of credits - credits are not part of the equation. Thus, a kid who has not earned a single high school credit can graduate on time if the IEP determines so and they do determine so quite often now. As a school principal or teacher, would you rather throw the kid their diploma and graduate him or put up with his destructive behavior for another year or two? Easy question to answer.

What state does this happen in? In Georgia you need to get 25 Carnegie Units, credits, to graduate regardless of your status. Btw EBD kids are put on a 504 plan not IEP.

When I was in Mexico I saw school children who looked so nice and disciplined. I met an American couple from L.A. who had moved to Guadalajara just so they could send their child to school in Mexico instead of the L.A. school system. Imagine that, taking your kid out of school in one of the biggest cities in Zogtopia just to put him in the school of a third world country. Try to tell your teacher, "F you, white bitch!" in Mexico and see what happens.

It happens in every state I think.

EBD is always an IEP. ADHD and other "disabilities" (diabetic, health issues etc) might be a 504 plan. 504 plan is usually involves special accommodations and that's about it. An IEP is a more full blown deal that involves and evaluation. I don't know much else about 504 plans because every EBD kid I've had have been IEP only.

I just got through shredding this years IEP and 504 plans and I only had 1 kid with EBD, along with other issues, on an IEP. The rest were on 504 plans.

But why do they need all those goofy acronyms? Can't they just get on with teaching what they want to teach, namely that white men are devils and should all be killed, and negroes are the most wonderful geniuses that the world has ever known but the devil white man has kept them down, that six million Jews, G_d's especially Chosen people, got turned into lamp shades and bars of soap and consequently need to be supplied with an endless flow of free cash and military equipment, and "gay" sex perverts are great and much more normal than disgusting "heterosexuals", that Iran and Russia and Islam are our enemies and we have always been at war with them, and war is peace?

Jewess professor expostulates on the agenda:

"Emily Goldstein, a professor and writer for thoughtcatalog.com, wrote an article agreeing with us that White Genocide is indeed happening.

The article (which has since been deleted) was titled “Yes, Diversity Is About Getting Rid Of White People (And That’s A Good Thing)â€
It may have been deleted, but we can still read the article through the Wayback Machine which saves websites and allows people to view their history.
“One of the more common memes that I’ve seen white supremacists spread around recently has been ‘diversity is a code word for white genocide†Goldstein wrote.

“That’s exactly right. Diversity IS about getting rid of white people, and that’s a good thing..."

This new policy will only further erode the "quality" of the teaching going on up there. The brat/thugs will leave as barely functional illiterates and the "good" teachers will flee to private schools. The people that will replace the "teachers" will become baby sitters with an alarm for security guards if things in the class room get to ghetto fabulous.
