Jeff had 8 catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns.I'm sorry but that is not because of luck.Brady Quinn is as fine a qb as you will see in all of college football. They just have a special chemistry about this team that brings back memories of yesteryear! What a game!

Brady and Shark save us yet again.....

Brady was 28/46 for 313 yards 2TD and 0Int but was sacked 5 times....The O-Line was pathetic today....

Darius Walker is the worst Running back in College Football

45 yards on 20 carries..i know the O-Line isnt good but christ he is so slow ...

Shark had a huge game and came up big as usual when needed 8 Receptions for 118 yards and 2TD's

Derek Landri got 2 important Sacks as well
smiley32.gif

John Carlson had 3 Receptions for 36 yards..

Even though we won and are 6-1.... we are fairly overrated....I dont honestly think we are BCS material......We have no running game...and ourdefensive backscontinue to be destroyed by the big play...UCLA hadnt had a passing play over 25 yards before they played us,they had 3 or 4today.

I meant the play that won the game for Notre Dame was luck. Anyways, yeah, Jeff had a fantastic game. I think this guy can be a good future NFL player.

Darius Walker is terribly slow and doesn't run with much power. He may pad his stats in certain situations, but the bottom line is that he is just not very good.

Philipj, please explain why you think it was luck. I saw a great QB pump fake and then throw a laser to a equally good WR who then beat the defense for the TD.

Notre Dame is truly one of the luckiest teams I've ever seen so far in college football.

A Public Service Announcementhas been issued for California and Philipj: Alert !!The Bruins were the victimsof a brutal Shark attack today ! The - Great White - is still on the loose! Avoid late snacks, pizza and 40 ouncers, or he mayresurface in your nightmares ! You've been warned !

This is the second time Norte Dame has done this to me. I missed the Michigan State comeback because I figured it was over and went out. This time, when Quinn's sneak failed to first down, I got disgusted and went channel surfing. Bad move. Another comeback missed.

Oh ye of little faith.

Is this a serious question your asking me or is it a joke? First, there was 27 seconds left in the game. Second, Quinn completed three straight passes for what? 80+ something yards? And he was under pressure all day. Third after Jeff caught the ball he almost fell but stayed on his feet. These events don't happen very often, even with the best NFL players. That's why I thought it was luck. Even Charlie Weiss said, "I'm not going to feel miserable about this win, I promise you," Weis said. "You want to be miserable, fine. I'm going to be happy. Any time you win a game like that -- we're very fortunate to walk out of there with scoring a touchdown inside of 30 seconds to go with no timeouts left. Sign me up."

Talk about negativity. Instead of giving credit to Quinn and Samardzija for the feats they accomplished, you attribute it to luck. You even mention that the 'best' NFL players would have trouble recreating the series of events similar to what happened Saturday, but you do realize that these two guys are two of the best draft prospects right?

Sometimes you make your own luck.Edited by: Sark6354201

I did give credit, look above. And yes, I stand by my words. Even the best NFL players have trouble recreating the series that happen. But that's a good thing I said right? I guess not.

Update to Notre Dame's starters

QB Brady Quinn
WR Jeff Samardzija
TE John Carlson
LG Dan Santucci
C John Sullivan
RG Bob Morton
RT Sam Young

DT Derek Landri
DE Chris Frome
FS Tom Zbikowski

The main change is a different white right tackle on offense, and Chris Frome is the starting right defensive tackle. All starting LBs are black today versus Navy.

The Offensive Line has been a problem all year.... Ryan Harris the overrated and undersized LT... has been turned inside out all year...

Bob Morton is a converted Centre...

Sam Young was our prized recruit,To Start at Notre Dame as a freshman for Charlie Weis just tells you how special the guy is... Our O Line will be all White next year... with Paul Duncan/Michael Turkovich(spelling) replacing Harris... and Dan Wenger at centre... and Carufel at one of the Guard Spots.

The Linebackers this season have been atrocious.... how that Physical Freak Anthony Vernaglia who spurned USC for us Irish hasnt been playing i dont know...

Other White Linebackers include Steve Quinn and Scott Smith both very good players.

Nduke at strong safety has been a disaster... why he has not been benched if beyond me...Its a greater shame because Kyle McCarthy is 2nd on the depth chart...i hope we see two white safeties playing for ND before the season end.

Naturally McCarthy should be playing Corner, but well we all know why that wont happen

Zib just ran his 3rd career punt back for a TD, and what do the announcers say? That most guys who return punts are "scatbacks, small, quick guys, fast guys, but Tom Zbikowski gets it done his own way." Man, I am really ticked off today at how these guys go to such lengths to make whites seem inferior even when they are the best athletes on the field!

Its like they had a meeting and said lets turn up the anti-white rhetoric a notch today and see what happens.

It's such a lie. When Zib was in high school,he was a running athletic qb and also was a star sprinter on the track team. One scout said he was the fastest player he had ever seen to come out of the Chicago Area. That was his exact words.I was hoping Tommy would be a running back as he could have been awesome! To say he is not fast is like saying there is no such thing as gravity.Zibby is the fastest player on the Notre Dame Team.

Z allegedly ran a 4.3 40 coming out of high school as a HS All-American at corner. hmmm... i guess his debilitating skin condition is rapidly diminishing his athletic capabilities...

It's funny to see how we already have a great thread on Notre Dame and someone creates a new one just to put the program down. If Notre Dame can keep winning, they, along with Ohio State, will provide a view to millions of people of white skill position players who are the best at what they do. Notre Dame is recruiting quite a number of white skill players at this point in time. I think we'll have to see what happens early next year before we can effectively judge how white-friendly he will be as a recruiter and coach. Its simply to early to make those comments now.

The new Notre Dame thread was originally posted in the College Football Stars forum, so I moved it here. Unfortunately I don't have the capability to add it to the existing ND thread.

As I mentioned on the latest of our many Wes Welker threads in the NFL forum, doing a search often results in finding an existing thread on a player or topic that can be added to rather than starting a new thread. For people who find this site by doing a search, it's better if all the information and commentary we have on a player, program, etc., is in one thread rather than multiple ones.

Quinn had another great game, throwing for 4 TDs with no picks. Jeff had 106 and a TD, and Carlson had a score. I really hope they can run the table. With some key losses today, Notre Dame should move up 2-3 positions. If they can beat USC, they might still have a chance to play for the national title! Its going to be quite a finish to this season, and I can't wait to see it unfold!

With #'s 3,4,5, and 8 losing this week (#6 Florida should have) several teams now have a shot. Again, it shows how ludicrous the BCS is.
