The Hillis situation continues to develop....As I noted at the time, any way you look at it, missing a game for strep throat, diagnosed a full two days beforehand, is mysterious and unprecedented. Here's another tidbit, from Rotoworld, indicating that his teammates clearly feel Hillis cares more about his contract status:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that there is belief in the Browns' locker room that Peyton Hillis sat out Week 3 because he's more concerned with his contract than playing at less than 100 percent.

In fairness to Hillis, he has a well-earned tough guy reputation, and was clearly incredibly sick leading up to Week 3, losing 10-12 pounds during the week because of strep throat. "That shouldn’t be an issue," said Hillis, playing for just $600K. "That’s not an issue in my brain. I’ll go out there and I’ll play. But if I know I’m not 100 percent and I can hurt my team, I’m not gonna risk myself." Hillis only got 10 carries in his Week 4 return.

Hardesty has done absolutely nothing to warrant more than a few change of pace touches per game. The fact that he was being used constantly as a third down back in today's game, instead of Hillis-known to have perhaps the best hands of any RB in the league-says an awful lot. Even more worrisome (and incomprehensible) is Hardesty's use at the goal line, instead of the incredibly powerful TD machine Hillis. Watching Hardesty prove conclusively that he can't catch even as well as a typical hands of stone NFL back was almost surreal. Even for the NFL, this was over the top.

It will be interesting, again, to see if any of the brain dead jock sniffing "journalists" in the local media grill Shurmur about the mind boggling lack of touches for Hillis. If he even bothers to respond, my guess is this idiot will attribute it to Hillis still "not being quite 100%" and/or "wanting to see Hardesty." There is obviously a belief, in "the locker room" (and you all know who controls every locker room) that Hillis should have played last week, and is "concerned about the money." Yeah, we all know the black players don't care about money.

I knew it would look ridiculous for Hillis to miss a game over something like that, and he is really paying a steep price for it. Whatever minimal support he had on the team (from either the black majority or white weasals like McCoy- who threw him under the bus unnecessarily earlier this week) has eroded away now. As sad as is sounds, Shurmer is bound and determined to put Hillis in his rightful place- at fullback, blocking for a natural afflete. The only thing keeping him in the mix for any touches is the fact that Hardesty is so shockingly horrible- even the DWFs may protest if they stopped giving him any carries. However, all it will take is one long run, through a Priest Holmes-sized hole, for the morons in the stands to fall in love with Hardesty.

At this point, Hillis needs to stop being humble and question his startling lack of usage, like any black RB with half his talent would. The team will not give him a huge new contract, and unfortunately I don't see any other NFL team signing him for big money to be anything other than an Alstott-type of half- starting back. This is par for the course for this criminal league.

And in another shocking development, the only other white RB playing significant snaps in the league goes down early with an injury. Even more startling is the fact that rookie Ridley looked great in his absence. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, this is it for Woodhead in any meaningful role with the Patriots. It's tragic, but that's just what happens in this league. If Peyton Hillis can miss ONE game and be thrown into a full blown RBBC as punishment, what do you think a guy like Woodhead's chances are, especially when the black RB (Ridley) really does look impressive?

Good for Decker. Good for Jordy- although he was stupid to sign an extension for that kind of money. Even Rotoworld acknowledged what a bargain it was for the Packers, who will now tie him to their team until Nelson is 29. With Jennings still young and the flashy Randall Cobb coming on (not to mention the young James Jones signing a similar deal earlier this season), there is little chance for Jordy to ever develop into a true #1 WR, which he should be. But as a typical white player, he probably would have signed in the worst place possible if he became a free agent (ala Drew Bennett) anyway. Let's hope today's excessive snap count for Jordy wasn't just a one game bone toss for signing such a modest contract.

The Hillis situation is essential to our cause here; the Caste System can never be dismantled if hate crimes like this go unnoticed, unacknowledged and unpunished. This guy was the star of his team last season, and so far all we've had since the "strep throat" incident are ex-players like Golic blasting him, leaked reports (obviously from within the team) about suspicions regarding his desire to play without a new contract, his QB giving his backup some totally undeserved praise and now his coach curtailing his role dramatically, to almost an even time share with his hapless, incompetent backup Hardesty. No one on the team has defended him publicly. None of his teammates support him? If this is not a conspiracy, what is it?

People involved in a conspiracy conceal what they are doing. That isn't happening here. The new management in Cleveland is not committed to Hillis as the Brown's number one runner. Nobody has to "conspire."

Yes, why ruin an otherwise solid post with an edit positing a "conspiracy" when what you are actually describing is the Caste System? The Caste System is a conspiracy in a very broad sense but only if one thinks the entire system that governs the U.S. is a conspiracy of millions.

As far as Hillis getting no support, let's see what unfolds. The two announcers of the Browns game today, including tribesman Kenny Albert, were unabashedly criticizing Hardesty and questioning why Hillis wasn't used more. The booing of the Cleveland fans and the near empty stadium in the second half also spoke volumes about how enthusiastic Browns fans will be if Hardesty remains at 50-50 or more in the backfield and the team retains its usual bottom feeding status. But certainly Mikey Holmgren's long track record of screwing Whites at all positions except quarterback could easily carry the day.

Your description of the NFL as a "criminal league" is spot on when one considers how White players have been treated for the past 30-plus years. There is undeniably an agenda being followed by the rabidly anti-White government in Washington and its compliant corporate media arm to marginalize Whites at all levels of influence in U.S. society and also make them a rapidly shrinking share of the population.

Bigunreal makes a lot of good points, but yes, I agree that there's no conspiracy here. You have a weasel of a head coach and his walrus boss who simply don't believe in a white running back as the team's primary ball carrier. So, this plan was probably put together in the pre-season to slowly integrate Hardesty into the offense and eventually make him the team's featured back, while Hillis becomes a third-down and situational back as the season progresses. The only thing preventing that from happening is that Hardesty is simply a bum who has no business being involved in any part of the offense, except for giving Hillis a few relief touches here and there. In fact, his lousy play and a possible injury is what will most likely give Hillis his carries back. And then they'll draft another afflete RB next season with the goal of making him the starter and letting Hillis walk via FA.

Or, ala Josh McDaniels, they'll continue to use Hardesty in a 50/50 role no matter what, while refusing to sign Hillis to a contract extension, and we all get to relive the horrors of 2009.

I did a quick scan of various CLE message boards, and the fans, to my surprise, sort of echo what the announcers were saying today. Everyone is wondering why Hillis was not being used more, that Hardesty should not even be out there, and that Schurmur and his staff are simply extraordinarily lousy play-callers who have no clue what they are doing.

At least the majority of the fan base has not turned against Hillis, and on the contrary, are still behind him and want to see more of him.

Brian Leonard gets 4 carries for 36 yards...giving him a total of 6 carries for 51 yards for the season (8.5 per carry)! Last season he was only allowed 9 carries & still had 61 yards...nearly 7 yds per carry.

It is a shame to see his skills as a potential feature-back being wasted in his prime at 27 years of age....

Congrats to Nelson, Decker & Welker!!!
Yes Leonard has shown that he should be a true number 2 or even a number 1 back. He is poor man's Hillis, but that is a compliment not a put down. Getting only garbage time hand offs is waste of his talent.

Nice to see much maligned Bobby Carpenter finding a little spot in the sun with his nice pick six. He showed some good smart running and the speed that made him a high draft pick. But it still didn't stop Berman on ESPN from hauling out his tired ass "rumblin', stumblin' and bumblin'" shtick.

Weenieworld says Welker may be the quickest player in the NFL.

Wes Welker said after Sunday's 158-yard game that this is the best he's ever felt in terms of health.

Welker is 21 months removed from his torn MCL and ACL, and might be the quickest player in the NFL. "I feel like I'm passed that," he said. "This is the best I've ever felt. This is the best I've ever played in my career." Welker leads the league in targets and fantasy points, and no one is even close in either statistical department. He's a locked-and-loaded WR1 regardless of format.

I have to give some support here to Bigunreal. For me, the specific conspiracy here is in the agenda of the NFL to portray only its African-American employees as athletic freaks that should command your attention on Sunday's. While any of us here at CasteFootball could list many athletic white players who have been denied opportunity let's concentrate on just two, Peyton Hillis & Tim Tebow.

Both of these super athletic players had jerseys that were the top selling jersey in the NFL. Both could have and should have been showcased by the NFL. There are millions of dollars on the line here, both for the NFL and the owners of their respective teams.

But the complete opposite has happened to both of these players. Their owners have hired new bosses for them and just by 'coincidence', neither of their new bosses have any use for them. If I was the owner of the Browns or Broncos, the first thing I would tell any new manager(head coach) that I hired would be to showcase my top cash cow. Isn't that what the Falcon's owner did with Michael Vick. Isn't that what the Titan's owner did with Vince Young. Let's not forget the Steeler's owner and 'Slash' or any number of other owners who milked their cash cow dry.

Some people will argue that the Colt's showcase Peyton Manning and the Patriots showcase Tom Brady but the heart of the argument here is athleticism. White football players hoping to play in the NFL had better not show too much of it. It's the quickest route to the CFL.

So we have a billion dollar industry that is the NFL that doesn't mind losing millions of dollars annually to maintain it's core value of promoting and showcasing black athleticism. Players like Hillis and Tebow are probably best described as colateral damage. Don't get me wrong, the NFL will employ both of these players. But Hillis will need to become a fullback or backup and Tebow will have to become more stationary and stay in the pocket like a white QB should.

But is what the NFL does a conspiracy? Well, when every owner partakes in the NFL's agenda despite losing money doing it. When the media covering the NFL embraces and lauds black athleticism. When the scout's for NFL teams promote black athleticism while downplaying white athleticism with their laundry list of code words. When 99.99 percent of the fans would never believe that such an agenda could be in place and sports is a true meritocracy.

And finally, when the only people who seem to be aware of what is going on in the NFL are the three of four dozen people here at CasteFootball who talk about it weekly but are considered racist lunatics by everybody else. Then yes, what is happening to Peyton Hillis should qualify as a conspiracy. I will go along with that.

When I used the word conspiracy in my last post, it was meant (in this case) to apply specifically to the Hillis "strep throat" saga. I don't know how else you would define it; we clearly don't know exactly what happened, and those involved appear to be covering things up.

I also surfed into some of the Browns' forums. There is a majority support for Hillis on them, and lots of posters are angry and baffled by Shurmur using Hillis so little and force feeding touches to Hardesty. Race was never even alluded to, however, even though several posters brought up both Hillis and Evan Moore and wondered why Shurmur "doesn't like" them. Well, at least they recognize that.

The only faint glimmer of hope here is the possiblity that Hillis was still not at full strength yesterday, and if so we ought to hear that excuse trotted out by Shurmur very shortly. That is, of course, if any of the local jock sniffers bother to ask him about the situation (although I really think in this instance that at least one of them will broach the subject- I don't see how they can avoid it). Trying to be uncharacteristically optimistic, if Hillis is back to getting the lion's share of touches after the bye, and especially if he is used at the goal line and on third downs, then we'll all feel a lot better.

good post, bigunreal. i amsure this is a number 1 question reporters will have all week and Shurmur needs to acknowledge that he will need a whole lot more than Mediocrio Hardesty in oder to shelf Peyton without a HUGE controversy, that, frankly he can ill afford with those results.

i missed all of the Sunday action, away on a trip but i am glad i didn't get to see Browns, would have been very, very frustrated and unable to enjoy Wes', Jordy's and Eric's success.

Exactly, and Carolina with Cam Newton, just handing him the job!

With Tebow, reality is, he was a value pick.. but the MSM acts like he was a "super-high pick" (and instantly declared him a "wasted" pick). You want to talk about wasted picks?! We sure can talk about those..

No, you don't know exactly what happened. What are they covering up? By your scenario, Hillis is in on the conspiracy. Are you going back to the argument that white players go along with The Grand Conspiracy?

Jason Babin had a huge game with 3 sacks. he now has 7, half a sack more than Allen.

In some positive news, I couldn't help but notice how well Whites are doing in the sack department considering how under-represented they are on D-lines and as 3-4 pass rush OLBers. Jason Babin leads the league with 7 and Jared Allen is 2nd with 6.5. Other guys like Chris Long, Dave Tollefson, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Ryan Kerrigan, Brian Robison and even Adam Carriker are off to great starts.

good job beating me to this backrow.

haha, yup! we need Clay Matthews to wake up in sack department and then the domination will be total!

btw Pat Angerer is still a tackle leader even though he-s still to play this week while everyone else had already. good stuff!

It was rather amusing to watch the Steelers and their 44/53 African roster (47/53 if you subtract the kicker, punter, and long snapper), falter against the most white-friendly defense (aside from the Rams) in the NFL. Honorary-Jew and lovesick Black Supremacist (I apologize for the redundancy), Dan Rooney, must’ve been reluctantly scowling at his beloved group of charming Commercial Negroes. Despite the victory, the Texans’ offense was utterly unexceptional. Given the fact that Andre Johnson should miss the next few weeks, I hope that Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels, Joel Dreesen, and James Casey will all benefit greatly from his absence.

With the exception of Wes “The Patriot Missile” Welker, New England looked utterly dreadful in that “win” against the Raiders. Bill Bellichick, the alleged “defensive genius,” can’t seem to find a single dark-skinned defensive back that isn’t rancid with the stench of mediocrity. Devin McCourty, an undeniably-talented rookie and potential “shutdown corner,” has been absolutely seared in every game this season. Kyle Arrington is a walking penalty-machine. Leigh Bodden and Ras-I Dowling (yeah, that’s his real name) are permanently-injured. Sergio Brown and Josh Barrett are, bar none, the worst safeties who receive regular playing time in the NFL (which is no small feat). Pat Chung has been the best of this appalling bunch, which isn’t actually an accomplishment. Naturally, after conceding 500+ yards of offense to the lowly Jason Campbell, the Patriots maintained their esteemed rank of “dead last” in total defense. What would this sorry unit have to lose by signing more white defensive talent?

Despite the terrible play of the linebacking corps (and the loss of Jerod Mayo due to an MCL sprain), Dane Fletcher barely played on defense. Instead, the “Belli-Genius” predominantly played the awesomely-average Gary Guyton and former University of Florida thug-boy, Brandon Spikes. You all remember Spikes, don’t you? He was the fat slug who ran a 5.06 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, had a personal “sex tape” that leaked online, and famously “gouged” the eye of an opposing player while in college…

brandon-spikes-eye-gouging.jpg

Spikes was solely responsible for Darren McFadden’s 41-yard run, missing his gap assignment in an embarrassing manner. Jerod Mayo, one of the precious few talented blacks on the Patriots defensive roster, could be out for at least six weeks, so hopefully Fletcher either becomes the starter, or receives more snaps on defense. Offensively, Fletcher’s been playing the “blocking fullback” role (particularly during goal line situation) more and more frequently. Transforming a potential star linebacker into a “human battering ram” is a colossal waste of white talent...I’m ever-so “shocked.”

After a beautiful 9 catch, 158-yard, 1 TD performance by the impossible-to-cover Wes Welker, he’s now amassed a staggering 40 catches for 616 yards (15.4 yard average) and 5 TD’s through the first four weeks of play. He’ll only need to average 32 yards per game in the remaining 12 contests to achieve yet another 1,000-yard season. Welker’s quality of play isn’t the only thing that’s transformed, however. Inexplicably, at 30-years old and 21 months removed from a major knee injury; he’s playing faster, quicker, angrier, stronger, more aggressive, more attitude, and with more elusiveness after-the-catch than ever before. His legs and stomach appear leaner and he has more definition and muscle mass in his upper body…

439x.jpg

In a postgame interview, the perpetually-humble player finally acknowledged his stunning play…
“I feel like I'm past that (injury)," Welker said. "This is the best I've ever felt. This is the best I've ever played in my career.

“Phenomenal Wes,” the man that no athlete with African blood coursing his veins is capable of containing, is now averaging 154 yards per game. He’s currently “one pace” for a NFL-record 2,464 yards through 16 games. This season, I’ve noticed that he’s been running less screen passes / quick slants / short stop routes and now runs longer passing routes, more “back-shoulder fades” that require him to leap at the sidelines, etc. Perhaps we’re finally witnessing what would’ve occurred had Welker been “unleashed” on longer passing routes throughout his entire career? Below is a laughable post-game quote from Bellichick…

“Wes is a good player, we know that. He’s a hard guy to cover. He’s a good receiver. I thought all of our receivers stepped up, I think we got plays from everybody today. Again, that just helps the overall balance of being able to spread the ball around.
“Spread the ball around!?” “Balance!?” The next leading receiver was Chad ImAClosetHomoCinco, who amassed another mammoth performance (2 catches, 26 yards). It’s interesting to note that Ochocinco is making $5.75 million dollars this season, whereas Welker is making $2.5 million.

Speaking of money, Welker will be a free-agent after this season…so hopefully during the latter part of the season he’s (finally) given the gargantuan contract extension that he so thoroughly deserves. But alas, he is the pinnacle of a “white boyscout” who will always “do what’s best for the team”…so the greedy Jew (sorry for the redundancy), Robert Kraft, will likely force his star player to wait until the offseason for his substantial pay increase.

Yes, Wes Welker is mainly used as a vertical threat when in the past he was used like a receiving runninback like Brian Westbrook or Marshall Faulk everything except take handoffs(which he never got credit for, just considered a possession receiver), the Patriots used to spread you horizontally dink and dunk with Welker and Faulk getting yac and have the occasional deep ball (which was the role Randy Moss was in for a while).

Now they are spreading teams out vertically, mostly with Welker, Gronkowski runs a few deep routes but not as much as Welker. They will keep stretching teams vertically until someone stops them, they take what they can get. Maybe later in the season they might have more of a balance with Woodhead used in the role he was last year, but right now they dont even have to, no one has stopped Welker.

So what is really going on is, Welker is doing a better job at the role Moss was brought in for. There is no way Moss keeps up a 15 yard per catch average with 10 catches a game, but he could never get 10 catches a game dropping easy passes.

Sport Historian,

I posted links to a few articles about the "strep throat" incident that raised some intriguing questions. There is obviously an element on the team who are willing to leak statements about Hillis being more concerned with his contract, and perhaps doubting he was really sick last week. I didn't say Hillis was involved in anything, although I did criticize him at the time for missing a game over something I (and clearly a lot of other people) think is a pretty lame reason.

I'm raising questions about the whole "strep throat" thing, because in light of what has happened since, I believe there is more there than meets the eye. At this point, I think it's obvious that Shurmur doesn't want Hillis as his main RB (and even the DWFs on message boards believe this), and the organization doesn't want to give him a big contract. Any way you look at it, this curious case of "strep throat" occurred at a very convenient time for them.

Great analysis as usual, Thrashen. I hadn't heard that offensive quote from Belichick- I'm sure Welker is thrilled to know that his coach thinks he's a "good receiver." However, it probably will be best for him if he stays in NE, as I just don't trust any other team to make even someone of his pedigree their #1 WR, not to mention he'd be without Tom Brady.

I'm extremely frustrated with this timeshare with Hardesty. Hardesty showed yesterday that he has terrible hands and Hillis is clearly the better back but the caste system always seems to rear its ugly head. Didn't the coach say in the past that Hillis is clearly the main guy and he'll get he majority of the carries? What the hell happened to that?

Houston's win over the Steelers was huge. The whitest team in the NFL beat the second blackest team.

Now let's hope the Colts can beat the most racist team tonight - Tampa

I missed the intro of the Bucs defense but the offense had one white starter (Trueblood). The lowest I have ever seen was 2 white starters but it appears Tampa has set a new standard.

On the plus side, the Colts started 8 whites on offense.

Gruden says Blount will "pound you" over and over.

So, according to my understanding of NFL procedures, that means they have to add a big name runningback to the roster to evenly split carries.
Right?
Otherwise Blount will "wear down".
Right?

However, it probably will be best for him if he stays in NE, as I just don't trust any other team to make even someone of his pedigree their #1 WR, not to mention he'd be without Tom Brady.

Hilis, by his own account, willingly sat out the game. I agree with you that it was, as you say, a lame excuse.

The strep throat thing may be very similar to Hillis mysteriously being deactivated in Denver. I think it's possible that Hillis was told his role was being reduced and he wasn't happy and he bucked as he should do. No other RB of his caliber would stand for a reduced role for any reason.

BTW, John Gruden was so impressed with Blount's 4.1 yards per carry and no TDs that he just said he is running "like a man possessed" and that he doesn't see guys like "Peyton Hillis" and Brandon Jacobs do what Blount is doing. And then Tampa punted again.

I thought the same thing. I was thinking maybe something happened in practice like Hardesty getting first team snaps instead of Hillis or someother affront that the No 1 RB shouldn't put up with. If so then Hillis leaving was the right thing to do. He needs to send a message that he's the man or he won't be the man.

I'm also hoping the Hillis jinx sticks around, and with Hardesty dropping 4 passes, it looks like it still is.
