The comments are almost universally negative for Fabio vs. the old spice negro. It could almost be intentional, Fabio is universally disliked by white men who hate his girly hair and silly accent, he certainly looks like a stereotypical gay guy. But I think that was the intent of the old spice ad people. I think they thought: oh so you want a white guy instead, how about this specimen of white manhood? and then use Fabio. I think they are having some sort of contest so when Fabio gets clobbered they can say: see, people like the black guy better.

I'm not sure who is buying Old Spice anyway. I know it's not popular amongst younger guys, I think the buyers are made up completely of old farts (like myself) who remember when the old spice sailor was the image of the product and the spicy smell of the product clearly distanced itself from being a "perfume".

Maybe they are trying to attrack blacks? There is certainly no demographic more in need of reducing the amount of stink natural to them. Also black guys seem to use cologne more. In fact in my younger days we called splashing on cologne a "n*gger bath" (this was a very popular phrase years ago) as it was a easier then actually taking a shower.

I think the habit of showering has exploded over the last couple of generations, heck a lot of homes used to not even have a shower head, you could only take a bath which made it awkward and time consuming to do, thus less frequent. Now of course everyone showers every day, sometimes twice a day, (this is a GOOD thing) so the reliance on cologne is greatly reduced. So I imagine amongst those demographics that don't shower as much, cologne is more popular.

There is also a kind of attack on cologne/perfume wearing in white society. I have worked in several places where there was someone (always a woman) who claimed to be so sensitive to the smell of colognes and perfumes that they claimed an allergic reaction to it. Thus the rest of the office had to kowtow to that particular c*nts preference and refrain from having anthing but the most mild of scents on their body.

It's another milestone on the path of freedom restiction where someone has the "right" to dictate private behavior of others due to some personal preference on the issue. This is similar to the bans on smoking in private/public businesses. It's really just about the smell, as the health effects are negligable no matter what the claims. So somebody doesn't like the smell and they get to dictate to everyone else their personal preferences. It also helps that cigarette smoke does stink so that those of us that don't smoke find it hard pressed to defend against them since the end result is better for us non-smokers too.

And I also hate smelling cologne/perfume on someone but what I do is just walk away instead of trying to get the law to force them to make me feel better. But I'm old fashioned that way.

could you please move that Ortiz vs Mayweather thread I accidently posted here. I PM'd Don about it and it appears that my PM feature is not working, because I got no response from him. Also, please advise if you can actually move it.

Thanks

I'm guessing old spice sales were falling like a rock with that negro bum.

Nope, I'm pretty certain that the idiots love him. They find those commercials oh so hilarious and can't seem to understand that he doesn't write the lines himself and that he could easily be interchanged with a million different actors, in fact there was a white actor doing them before him(not Bruce Campbell) that I thought was better. I think the commercials led to him getting legitimate acting jobs.
