You're right, Space Hillbilly.

Eddie Chambers is a bad style match-up for Lyakhovich at any time. But because Sergiy is coming off a brutal KO loss to Robert Helenius, it's even worse.

I would sooner have seen Lyakhovich in with someone he can KO like Maurice Harris.

Not so fast guys. If the White Wolf shows up in condition like he did for his last fight against Hellinus, then there is a great chance he will end up as the winner against a good boxer like Chambers who doesn't have any power. Again, he does have outright dominate or KO Chambers which is not out of the realm of possiblity. This is a good fight to re establish the White Wolf as a top tier fighter in the heavy weight ranks with a win.

I think this is excellent. The biggest reason the sport died out in popularity in the USA is that they stopped showing it on regular tv, and I think this is a good first fight too, not a couple of jockey sized nonwhites bouncing around all night. I hope they continue to show the big boys.

Jon Miller said "we think there is an opportunity here with the right matchmaking and right positioning to possibly reintroduce boxing to free over-the-air and, in this case cable television."

I guess by "right matchmaking" she means top Negros vs White no-hopers? Lyakhovich has only fought 6 times in 5 years, and went 3-3 in those. Clearly they cant have white fans seeing that the best in the division are not blacks....Chambers has become one of the biggest duckers at heavyweight. He has turned down a rematch with Povetkin and a chance to also rematch Wladimir.

We know they won't show the Klitschko's. We can't have the myth that white fighters can't fight get exposed on national television. Lyakhovich isn't that bad and I believe he has a decent chance. If he loses it will be on points as I don't see Chambers knocking him out. I think a focused and in shape Lyakhovich can at least be competitive with Chambers and has a fair chance of winning the fight.

I think it's a good fight and I think Liak. will win. It's not like they're matching Chambers up against some chubby white professional loser, which is something I wouldn't have put past them.

They probably can't afford the Klitschkos. A TV fight usually has a good fighter matched against an "opponent" who is expected to lose. Sometimes, an upset happens. A good TV matchmaker has competetive fights.

Good point! The Klitschko's fight mostly in Germany anyway and make good money from European pay per view.

I don't think Sergei is that bad of an opponent for Chambers. He's probably the best American heavyweight right now but that's not saying much.
