Has anyone else seen the intentionally miscast Miller Lite commericial that features a White male wearing sunglasses in a dimly lit restaurant?In the ad, a black waitress ridicules himfor wearing the shades as his male peersfollow along in jeering him.
Whileit's nothing new for White mento be cast as the butt of jokes in modern advertising, thisscenario is particularly remarkable for its irony. Everybodyknows that blacks are abouta million times more likely thanWhites to be the kind of douchebag that wears sunglasses indoors and or at night while most waitresses are White. Indeed, a morerealistic ad would havehad adorky black guywearing sunglasses indoors getting made fun of by a White waitress. When one understands that the powers that be would never allow such an ad to air, one begins to understand the bias and agenda in this country.
