Looking forward to this fight. David should be able to lay waste to Saunders. If David struggles against Saunders then all the hype was just that, hype. David should be in his prime and just destroy a fighter like Saunders. Saunders is no GGG. Saunders looked very beatable last time out against a fighter that did not want to win.

Saunders to win must fight the perfect fight and constantly move. Hard task to do without getting hit. If David thumps BJ on the ribs, more so.

I have David utterly destroying Saunders. The end comes in rounds 6-8.

Lemieux had trouble getting past GGG's long, stiff jab; and, when he did get past it, along came GGG's stiff straight right. BJS runs around and whacks, but not with power. Lemieux's boxing is respectable, but his power is the best in the world -and probably better than GGG's power- it really is dynamite. Since BJS has a mouth full of garbage, and he's a prick, I'd like to see Lemieux flatten him. And that is what I predict. I doubt Saunders can keep moving and keep Lemieux off him for 12 rounds.

I too am rooting for Lemieux, I don't like Saunders' big mouth and unsportsmanlike attitude.

Traditionally boxer types are kryptonite to huge punchers like Lemieux is, but I wonder on the boxing ability of Saunders as he has looked flat in his fights since winning the belt against Andy Lee.

One worry for about Lemieux is he looked really gaunt at the weigh in like he isn't long for making 160. I remember when he first looked like a can't miss prospect I felt he probably could make 154 and I felt that was part of the reason why he was ko'd against Rubio. Many times guys that make weight with a severe water cut are weak at critical points in the fight. I hope I'm wrong.

I know physiques can be deceiving, but Saunders looks a bit soft to me so Lemieux should go to the body early. This is an interesting boxer vs puncher match-up and as WIR says the boxer often survives the power and gets the decision. And Saunders has showed a good chin and won his belt from terrific puncher Andy Lee.

I had thought that Saunders was an Irish Traveler, but turns out he's a Romanichal, a branch of the Romani.

Cork's Gary O'Sullivan winning a by TKO in the 6th against Antoine Douglas (black U.S.). Scary looking stoppage as Douglas looked like he didn't know where or when he was at the end.

Lemieux throwing single shots in the air against a good boxer. Such a useless tactic. Boy does he need to dump his crew and learn to use his tools.

Against a southpaw he should at least been stepping on Saunders' lead foot and with his left hand grab Saunders' right, step back half a step to really break the clinch, and then hit Saunders with his free right while holding. Watch those old Duran films and see how successful Duran was doing that.

As Merchant says, "boxing is the theater of the unexpected." I was right and wrong. BJS fought the perfect fight. He toyed with David, almost lomanisk. David was way over his head with BJS. BJS is on to better and bigger fights. David is in danger of becoming a gatekeeper. Like Amborse stated, David needs to study Duran or give it up. BJS made a North American statement tonight. He will be a handful for the top middleweights now. I guess his new trainer and conditioning coach has done wonders. BJS was fresh in the championship rounds moving and boxing. I was impressed.

While I thought a boxer could school the stalker(Lemieux), I didn't see this. It was a near shutout with Lemieux just pipping 1 or 2 rounds because of sheer effort. Saunders to me looked like he hydrated perfectly and looked a division bigger than Lemieux when they fought and more importantly knew everything that Lemieux was up to and had a move to counter the stalker.

Lemieux has been rebuilt before but he may have to do this a division higher against guys who will be closer to Saunder's girth and height, not an easy task. As for Saunders his purse demands for the GGG-Canelo winner has increased significantly.

Lemieux says his left hand was hurt early in the fight. Don't know about that but I do know his feelings were hurt. He looked clueless in there.

Lemieux can't move up. Too short, short limbed, and short on skills. What was least impressive about him was his lack of viciousness. Dempsey, Duran, and Tyson were all killers and especially if you tried to hold them.

Could be bull-shite, but I noticed he threw mostly right power shots in the last few rounds.

BSJ now has a bit of rightful swagger. He will not be a push over based on this performance. Like I said, he will be handful boxing wise for the top 5 of 160 lbs class. And Ambrose is right again. David's "story of a hurt hand" is bull sh*t.

I wrote above that Douglas didn't look good after that O'Sullivan stoppage. Many posters on line are saying the same thing. He may be seriously hurt. Hope he's ok. Don't like to see anyone seriously hurt just for our entertainment.

Yes, I agree. Unlike Football, boxing, you make your wares based on talent and ability. Hope he is OK.

I agree on his physical limitations but he looked like he had nothing to give at the weigh in.

Many boxers have this dilemma when they can't make a division anymore, if their style is a rugged physical style many times their careers as elite fighters are over when they have to take on naturally larger men.
