NFL.com reports Navy FB Kyle Eckel (5'10½", 244) was clocked at 4.84 and 4.88 in the 40. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.31 seconds, had a 27" vertical and did 27 bench presses.......Since fullback is the primary focus of the Navy offense, Eckel was able to rack up nearly 2,400 yards rushing and 21 TD's the last 2 seasons. His 40 times aren't great, but in line with most FB prospects.

still not bad acheivments for Eckel I beleive he will start before Cory Scleslinger because he is more athletic and can do more things that coach Cameron wants from offensive players. It would be nice to them both lined up in the back field in goal line and short yardage situations. New England played him some at runninback last preseason. Only time will tell we can only hope.

well a general consensus at Dolphins message board where i signed up to see what's going on with Kyle is that he will be cut... of course part of it is hating by ignorant white fans but they do have a valid point: after signing a great blocking fullback in Schlesinger and drafting Reagan Mauia from Hawaii (6'0, 270 - edit that, NFL.com has him listed at...296?) in 4th round, Kyle Eckel being a Saban's addition mightjust be an odd man out for their new coach...

Even with evans, i wouldnt be surprised if the past at least gave him a semblance of a shot. After all, they are the first team to have shown legitimate interest in him and had it not been for his obligations to naval service, the Pats would not have cut him. Otherwise, I think he'll find a job somwhere. If not, that's total B.S. this guy is liek a faster Alstott (obviously not as powerful lol)

he's not faster than Alstott in his prime...
he definitely deserves a shot, Pats didn't cut him by the way, they put him on the waivers so he can stay on practice squad but Dolphins snatched him off waiver wire.

Yeah, but when you don't make the roster, you've been cut. I hate technical terms. Cut, put on waivers= essentially same thing. And yeah, your probaly right in his prime Alstott's faster. I really wish there were youtube videos of Alstott but there's no real mixtapes onyl few highlights. Given hsi huge fan base, I am shocked to still see that one hasn't been made.
