This guy definitely deserves his own thread.

Pulev defeats Oloukun

WBO #9 heavyweight contender Gbenga Oloukun (17-3, 10 KOs) was surprisingly upset by "The Cobra"Â￾ Kubrat Pulev (3-0, 2 KOs). The Bulgarian boxer confidently controlled the bout and his punches were by far more effective. Oloukun, who won over former WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster just two fights ago, could do nothing to disrupt Pulev. The Bulgarian took the first couple of rounds to adjust to the Nigerian's style but then started to dominate with his superior technical assets. Fightnews had it 60-54 for Pulev, who made a quantum leap up in class in this fight.

Impressive victory!

I wonder if he'll get ranked by the WBO after this performance? Also props to Sauerland for having the balls to let his fighters face tough opposition early in their careers

According to boxrec Kubrat will take on Oleg Platov 28-1(22) on January 30.

Platov is very unlucky. Koc pulled out a few days before their fight, and Sauerland didn't find a replacement.

I like both these guys and would prefer they not fight each other. Perhaps instead they should put Platov in with Gbenga Oloukun, and perhaps have Pulev fight Michael Sprott.

Not sure what happened but Pulev-Platov is off. Kubrat's new opponent will be former Euro Champ Matt Skelton 22-4(19).

Heavyweight prospect Kubrat Pulev (5-0, 3 KOs) pulled off by far the biggest win of his fledgling career with a stunning fourth round TKO over 43-year-old British KO artist Matt Skelton, who drops down to 22-5 with 19 KOs.

Kubrat Pulev will return on Feb 20 in Belgium, fighting a boxer from the Congo named Isossa Mondo. He may also be on the March 13 Sauerland card with Huck, Povetkin and Pianeta.

Too bad Universum doesn't keep their heavyweights active like Sauerland does. What's happened to Dimitrenko and Chagaev?

Chagaev is a good heavy who I doubt has recovered from the Klitschko fight. I don't know what his next fight will be but David Gaye should be a good fight. The question is will the black coward challenge anyone legit?

Kubrat Pulev's opponent Isossa Mondo retired in the third round today. It's the first time Isossa has been stopped.

Excellent Sauerland card today:

Pulev vs. Batchelder
Povetkin vs. Mora
Frenkel vs. Simms
Huck vs. Richards

I'm looking for a stream HERE.

Kubrat Pulev once again won impressively, stopping Batchelder in the second round.

Pulev got him with a perfect uppercut, Batchelder went down and although he managed to beat the count, he was in no condition to continue. Kubrat is one of the most talented of our white boxers.

This caught me by surprise...

Oleg Platov is a tough opponent for Pulev, I thought he was one of the best heavyweight prospects three years ago but he's been strangely inactive since then. It will likely be a competitive fight.
