Culpepper is an idiot. If he blocks any trades then the Dolphins will just wait until the last moment to cut him. No team is going to want to sign him then because he wont have time to learn the playbooks and develop any kind of rhythm with whatever team he's with

He'a a typical me type of player who only cares about himself. I am so glad that he is no longer going to be on the team. Cameron gets my vote as the coach who is finally bucking the trend and going with players he likes and not allowing his opinions to be swayed by what others are saying about his decisions. Trent Green is the type of quarterback you need in the leauge someone who can read defenses and act accordingly besides Mc Nabb their isn't another black quarterback that can read and react. This is why the postion will always stay white no matter how hard the leauge trys to integrate the postion.

Culpecker is a chump. He thinks employment is owed to him and expects preferential treatment. I hope the Dolphins loose a lot of money over him. It will serve them right. They had so many bonafide players to choose from and they kept pushing for this stiff.

Culpepper has never been underated. I live in Minnesota and had to put up with the Culpepper worshipping for years. Duante was often refered to as the "future hall of famer, Duante Culpepper." He may have had a couple of great seasons with Randy Moss, but did you know of all the quarterbacks the Vikings had starting during the Moss years (johnson, George, Cunningham, and others) that Culpepper's quarterback rating was second worst only to Cunninghams? That's right, every white quarterback who started during that time had a higher quarterback rating than Culpepper and Cunningham.

People will point to his couple of seasons, but he had some of the worst seasons in NFL history to counteract his "great" seasons. One season he had more turnovers by himself than 1/2 of the teams in the league. Voice's stats posted earlier are quite revealing (-10) in TD/turnovers.

Let's not forget the "Love Boat" episode along with a covered-up gang-rape (similar to the Love Boat) episode that happened about a year or two earlier. That incident has been reported on this site if anyone who hasn't heard of it is interested in looking it up. Just search the archives for the "Love Boat", Duante, or Black Vikings. It virtually went unreported even in Minnesota.

Has anybody been listening to Sports Talk Radio recently?


Absolutely has made me sick the waysome of these guys have been gushing over Culpepper and saying he should go to the Raven and be groomed for the starting role in 2008.Not even countingthe fact that he will be 31 years old in 2008, and has been plagued with injury problems, This is guy who despite having 2 monster fantasy years has been streaky at best in the NFL. His decision making has always been suspect and has a history of big game chokes in the playoffs. Culpepper is not exactly the perfect picture of a "project", and since when is a 30 year old guy groomed for anything in the NFL?


These media types and some fanscan never let go of these black quarterback's. They always want them to get chance after chance, and if the situations were reversed and it was a white QB they would be ready to say his career should be over. Christ there are still some people in Chicago who live under the delusion that one of these day's Donovan McNabb is going to become a Bear and lead the team to the promised land. He would be a broken down nag by the time the Bears ever got their hands on him. He already seems to be getting to that point now.

Fantasy Football has actually helped Culpepper. Except for Viking fans, fantasy owners tend to judge a players worth by their fantasy production more than their on-field worth. So, the average fan might have no idea that Culpepper has no leadership skills or can't produce in crunch time. Vick actually is a pretty good fantasy player so owning him can reward you more than if you were a Falcons fan. Troy Aikman was always a terrible fantasy player.

Also, in Culpeppers big years, didn't he throw a lot of dump offs to his running backs that helped pad his stats?

I know during his last big year, everytime the ball was on the one, it was an automatic pass. (to pad his stats) I was always surprised teams didnt key off of this. I wonder how many of his touchdown passes were 5 yards or less.

Even allowing for the gross ineptitude of the Miami organization, how did they sign this guy if there are so many questions about his rehab progress? Didn't they have a team doctor look at him? Or did they simply take his word that he would be healthy (woulnd't surprise me)?
