He couldn't have caught it and placed the ball down in a better position.

I am tired of the announcers, especially the analysts. The English ones are way too negative. They never give the offense any credit. There also is way too much talking. I would rather just have one announcer and no color guy like they have on the FA CUp telecasts.

I like Ray Hudson on BEIN. Everything isn't a mistake to him. He gives credit to the offsense.

    I also like David Pleat.

Rebajlo, I remember that game and indeed that great Danish team, the most exciting at the 1986 World Cup, maybe even of the 80s. They also beat West Germany and Scotland then fell to pieces against Spain in the Second Round. Maybe they should've behaved like Germans - ie thrown the final match against West Germany thus enabling them to play Morocco in the next round.

    Matra2 -

I likewise remember the match. "Dynamite" Denmark certainly possessed a marvellous team: Michael Laudrup, Preben Elkjaer (one of my favourite players as a kid), Soren "Bare Shins" Lerby, Frank Arnesen, Jesper Olsen, and Jan Molby. Those were the days - skilful, positive, attacking football, with blokes like Elkjaer and Laudrup dribbling through defences left, right, and centre. Today's fans get awfully excited (or disapprovingly anxious) when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo uncorks some "fancy" dribbling, not realising that the utilisation of deft ball skills in directly running at opponents was always a routine part of the game. We certainly live in a strange world...

Denmark's 5-1 second round loss to Spain hinged on Jesper Olsen's egregious error which gifted Emilio Butragueno the equaliser just before half time. The Danes failed to recover and Butragueno ended up scoring four of his five tournament goals in that match (his other goal came - as You doubtlessly know - barely over a minute into the first round clash against Northern Ireland).

The following video features both of Verona's goals in their 2-0 Serie A win against Juventus in 1984. The first strike is by Giussepe Galderisi, while the second is Elkjaer's most famous goal. He lost one of his boots yet continued running, eventually putting the ball into the back of the net with his bootless foot.

PREBEN ELKJAER (Hellas Verona) vs Juventus - Serie A, 1984-1985:

Yes, I do remember it. I think the match was on a Saturday. I watched it with my dad. I remember him laughing at Northern Ireland's goal which he described as the "stupidest goal of the World Cup":

From the Portugese middlefielder Ricardo Fernandes who used to play for Porto, but is now finishing his career in Cyprus a flying backheel goal. Very lucky, but a great goal nonetheless.

That's an odd thing. Normally it is the other way around, but I have never actually heard that some couldn’t watch a video on youtube that was uploaded by a German Channel.

i remember like 1 or 2 years ago when people weren't sure if bale had to play midlefielder or fullback :icon_lol:
like i said at that time, when you have this talent you don't play fullback, it would be a waste

Andrej Kramaric equalizer in yesterday's Rijeka-Lyon Europa League match (1:1).
Nice goal because it's not a random lucky shot but you can se the player nicelly stopping the ball, turning around, seing the goalkeeper a bit off position and calmly aiming at the upper right corner, all in a fraction of a second. Pathetic defending from Lyon's black defenders.

FIFA's top 10 goals of the year. Included are two by women (including Louisa Necib "the female Zidane":icon_rolleyes:) but not included were the goals scored last month by Pajtim Kasami and Jack Wilshere.

Actually some of the goals are from 2012 and none are from the 2013-4 season aren't eligible.
