Gavin Schurr just graduated from high school in June 2021 in Colorado. I see so much talent in this kid that I just wanted to start a thread about him. His wind legal best in high school were 10.36 and 20.52! The kid
got a full ride scholarship to USC where he is currently entering his freshman year of college. Keep a close eye on this kid as he just has the swagger about him & the talent to back it up.

I personally cannot wait to see Gavin Schurr running at USC. I think he will be very competetive even as a freshman in the 100 and 200 meters. This kid is so
talented yet very few people have taken notice. Bring on 2022 and let's see what this teen phenom can do on the track! His confidence reminds me of Matthew Boling.
Schurr isn't on that level yet but I honestly believe he has the potential to get there over his college career and turn pro later on.

In his senior year of high school Gavin Schurr ran a 10.36 with virtually no wind. This is a high school kid and with his 20.52 wind legal in the 200 meters
we should see him shine in the Pac 12 when the season starts. His biggest weakness at the moment other than strength is his start. Maybe tighten up his form
a little too. You can never work too much on your sprinting form. The best sprinters make it look almost effortless as they run so relaxed which allows a sprinter
to hit his top speed that he is capable of. The harder you try the worse you run when you try to force it. Form equals success on the highest levels of track.

HIGH SCHOOL: Schurr is a 2021 graduate of Fairview High in Boulder, Colo. He did not run in the 2021 Colorado state meet as a senior as he got a late call saying he was invited to the U.S. Olympic Trials. Schurr placed 21st in the 200m at the U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 20.72. He has a 200m personal best of 20.52 and a 100m PR of 10.36. He won the NSAF USA Meet of Champions 100m dash title where he ran the U.S. No. 6 time of 10.36. He ran his 200m PR at the BYU Cougar Invitational which ranked No. 3 on the U.S. high school list in 2021. He also has indoor bests of 6.73 in the 60m dash and 20.84 in the 200m. The 200m time ranks fourth all-time and his 60m dash time was third among 2021 high school runners.

Gavin Schurr is now at USC and he will have his first meet in late January. It will be exciting to follow his collegiate career.

Gavin Schurr was at USC last year, but didn't race much that I can tell. I don't know if he had injuries or whether it was something else.
In any event, it seems he wasn't happy there, as he has now transferred to California (UC Berkeley).
Cal is not really a track powerhouse, but maybe he will get more individual attention there, then at star-studded USC.
Let's hope so.

Hope it works out. Look what happeded t Matt Bruno and UCLA years ago. They ruined the kids career.

Gavin Schurr was one of the best high school sprinters in high school nationally just a year ago. It would be a travesty
to see another kid with this much talent get screwed over. Hope this transfer helps him.

And don't forget Curtis Godin, who dropped track altogether after 1 year at UCLA.

I'm actually excited the more I think about Gavin Schurr running for the University of California. He was one of the top 3 high school
sprinters in the nation just 2 short years ago. USC has a very deep squad with alot of talent so he wasn't being trained or getting the
chance to race much as jacknyc said in a few posts above. The Cal. Golden Bears in my honest opinion will give him every chance to
suceed. The kid has the talent and the focus plus desire to get to the top. I personally thing it's a great move. We will see this more and
more in college sports now. I see him geting back to Schurr the Blur and running very fast times over the next 3 years. This year may be a
bit of a transition year but by his junior year I think we will see a big jump in his times over both the 100 & 200 meters. Here is his
bio from Cal.
