A new tax of 50% over 150,000 pounds will be put into place and this will drive some foreign players out. Good. They didn't care about England. It's just the money. It won't keep all of them out because if you salary is higher in England that will make up the difference in taxes especially for Africans and South Americans.

Foreign stars won't last

Now maybe some English players will be able to play, but some English players could leave and some lesser foreign could come in. That is why you have to have strict limits on foreign players.

The devaluation of the pound is also having a beneficial effect by devaluing salaries for foreigners. They are more likely to spend their earnings overseasmore than British players.

I find it interesting that foreign players in Spain might be taxed at 25% instead of 40%. They come an take Spanish jobs and then they get taxed less than the Spanish players.

Since people in Italy are complaining about English teams dominating the champions League, maybe they will back a limit on foreign players. Although they really have no credibility since their top teams are mostly foreign also.
