Yeah, you are probably right there, Mr. Wonderfull. Maybe something will happen and they won't be able to make Brad look bad.

Since some are pointing out that even when Culpepper comes back that he won't be able to play the same I would like to add that I just don't see him 'maturing' into a quasi-pocket passer like Steve McNair. This year has shown that he was never that good a passer in the first place and that without Randy Moss he just plain sucks (and still fumbles alot! LOL!!)

Boy the Vikings sure do miss Duante! People and the media around here acted like the vikings season was over when they lost Duante Fumblepepper for the season. Brad Johnson played very well and the Vikings easily won. Johnson just might save Mike Tice's job just long enough for Tice to bench Johnson in favor of Fumblepepper next year.

My prediction of turning to a conservitive offense seems to be right on target. The Viqueens are 2-0 since Johnson took over, but the media is giving him zero credit. I dont know his stats right off hand, but im pretty sure he has 0 turnovers and is making good decisions. It proves to me that Culpepper WAS the reason for the Viqueens lousy start. Lets hope they let Brad utilize his talents a little more in the coming weeks, he is afterall one of the most accurate QBs of ALL TIME. Heres to Brad Johnson

So far Brad Johnson has 3 TD, 0 INT, for 442 yards and an 83.5 passer rating.

I hate to say it, but if it weren't for special teams the Vikings would have lost to the Giants. Brad didn't play that well, the Vikings only had 136 yards of total offense, including SIX YARDS in the first half, and they missed two field goals on top of that. The Vikings became the only team in NFL history to score on a punt, a kickoff, and an INT return for TD.

But Brad Johnson DID take the Vikings on the game-winning drive at the end of the game. He could have thrown an INT to end the game like that Irish guy in Philadelphia, McNabb, has done the last three weeks in a row.

Just keep in mind that they probably would have had more offense vs the Giants IF they would get away from the ultra conservitive offense. Like I said they are only doing enough to win games right now with Johnson, hopefully they open it up a little, but i guess we will see. The last thing they want is a QB controversy next year

Black QB's are not smart and not mentally tough. That is why the media is doing their best to hype them up to hide these facts.Whites make better qbs. They have everything the black man does not have(like brains and the warrior instinct).

Brad Johnson has done well so far and will continue to.And one day, that stupid fool Vick will give way to Schaub and well see theREAL qb's in action.

Pardon me for asking but is Schaub a Jewish surname? Don't get me
wrong, he showed very good skills filling in for the oft injured most
dangerous player in the NFL. And Schaub is white, soo lets hope
Super Vick breaks his life this weekend and Schaub steps in!

Well, the Vikings are now 3-0 with Brad Johnson at the helm. What looked to be a lost season as a bottom feeder at least has some hope thanks to the savvy veteran. His stats weren't great, but he had zero protection almost the entire game. Nice job by Brad.

Wow, I quit watching the game in the first quarter and got on the computer. I figured Favre might pull it out, but I guess the Packers really are out of it this year. Congrats to Brad, as he is doing a really good job considering his circumstances.

Brad is still getting it done. Even though they ALWAYS run on first down and are ultra conservitive(like I predicted). By the way Bohler dont look so bad all the suddden either.

I've been hearing commentators talk about how he must sell himself if
he wants to play next year. Well he has been playing good
football and I must say that Vi.. has not thrown for as many yards in a
single game as Bohler and he doesn't hear such chatter.

During the Viking game an announcer remarked that he didn't know if Duante even wanted to return to Minnesota. Shouldn't it be the other way around? After Brad Johnson's performance this year, Minnesota shouldn't want Daunte to return.

On a side note, you Kyle Boller bashers (you know who you are)- its time to apologize and admit you made a mistake.

Johnson is making Dulpepper look BAD! I sure hope Johnson gets a chance to take over the team next year. That would be a major COUP! Considering that Brooks is most likely out at New Orleans, that would decrease the number of starting black QB's by 34%, which would be great. Now if we could just get McDrabb and Mexico out of the picture and get McNair to retire, we would have only Leftwich to worry about.

Sure wasn't me. I've been defending Boller all year, I think alone in that category. The anti-white bias, as well as lack of football knowledge, is shown by all the "journalists" and "commentators" who mindlessly bash white quarterbacks without looking at the other talent, or lack thereof, on a team. Harrington took 99% of the blame when his receivers deserved a lot of it, David Carr took 99% of the blame when his receivers and o-line deserved most of it. Boller had a lousy o-line, but simply needed more time and experience to blossom. He was probably the most hated white player in the league this year, so it's great to see him come on like he has.

Looks like the caste system in Minnesota won't change with the hiring of the new head coach, Brad Childress. Childress has already named Duante Culpepper as his starter for next season. Brad Johnson is reportedly upset and wants to be traded to a team that will start him.

The team ownership has also stated that is will commit to paying Culpepper a 6 million dollar bonus in March. The also said that Johnson is already under contract for the next three years and they have no intention of trading him. Under his contract, Johnson will recieve 1 million dollars next year.

.

Childress wants to keep the Philadelphia-Minnesota mystique alive.Warren Moon,Randall Cunningam, Daunte Culpepper, Donovan McNabb - Johnson is the odd man out.

This bugs the hell out of me. Just when you think we're making progress...

I don't know that Johnson would get a starting job anywhere else anyway. But again, has to chafe the pride of a man who took the Vikes to six straight wins only to be told back to the bench with you!

Every white QB who has had to replace Dulpepper has done a far better job than he has. This year it's Brad Johnson, before him Gus Frerotte and Todd Bouman before him. It is remarkable that 1)no one ever comments upon this and 2) Dulpepper is still considered a "star."

You're right about that. And before Culpepper it was Jeff George and even Randall Cunningham leading an explosive offense. The only time the Vikings have struggled offensively over the past eight years has been with Culpepper as their starting quarterback. Culpepper had a good first year as starter in '00, but then it was several years of struggle before his big '04 season, and that was with Randy Moss anda great o-line.

I don't see why Childress wouldn't even open up the job in training camp. Culpepper makes way too many costly mistakes, and although he may be more "talented" physically, Johnson's superior football intelligence is just what the Vikings offense needed.. But hey, it isn't like there is any evidence to support Johnson doing a better job than Culpepper huh?....

I recently checked out Culpepper and Johnson's respective stats. Despite having been in the NFL twice as long as Culpepper, Johnson has thrown fewer interceptions, has fumbled fewer times, and most remarkable, has been sacked fewer times. Wasn't the great thing about Culpepper supposed to be how hard it is to bring him down?

I stand corrected on the interception stats; Johnson has a few more than Culpepper after this season. But the fumble/sack stats are correct.

But like you said, for these stats to be even remotely close even with Johnson being in the league significantly longer, it shows how much of a joke it is Culpepper is being handed the job. Here is the stat I like most of these to..

SUPER BOWLS:

Johnson -1

Culpepper - 0

and sure, the Bucs had a great D, but the Vikings had some good teams over the years also...
