Good article on Bryson Shaw!

https://www.landof10.com/wisconsin/wisconsin-badgers-bryson-shaw-football-lacrosse-recruiting

Found it interesting that he and his dad were fans of Leonhard when he played in Baltimore a Raven in 2008! His dad made a comment that Leonhard was always ready to come up and tackle compared to Ed Reed!

Dummy decommited to go play for Urban. Good luck.

Thanks for keeping these updates going! I don't understand why Shaw would flip instead of play under Jim Leonhard. At least they got Wilder as a transfer. Hopefully they are able to reload as a defense - they lost quite a few players to the draft.

Shaw will most likely play both Lacrosse and Football as a Buckeye. Its a tough loss but as you mentioned adding Wilder helps, he will be battling for reps in 2019.

Freshman redshirt Scott Nelson (6'2 195) earned rave reviews in Spring ball. He's battling with afflete Patrick Johnson for FS. Also keep an eye on RSo. Seth Currens. He'll likely be 4th or 5th Safety in 2018. Good size as well 6'3 210.

Good to see Arizona State going after a couple of these White kids from a couple of your posts. The Wildcats probably would have too in the very recent past, but not now under Sumlin.

Here's a couple of more recent commits:

TE commits to Auburn
SDE commits to Baylor

Celtic sorry for the bad news but star slot WR Nolan Groulx pulled out of Wisconsin and is opening up his recruiting again. His new schools include Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Wake Forest and NC State to name a few.

Four stud athletes I cannot get a recruiting read on which usually means they will evaporate into thin air. If anyone can throw some light on these players it would be appreciated.

As mentioned in the Track and Field thread Nick Bolettieri out of Heyworth HS IL ran a blistering 6.27 in the 55M a few days ago. The BEST in the country by far!!! He is 6'3" and is mostly listed as a WR.

Hayden Willimon out of Wren HS in SC is a WR who runs a swift 4.48 40 yard dash. Very athletic!! Can leap out of a gym.

Kyle Terry ( mentioned by Dolphin above) is a DB out of GA who scored the highest Sparq rating at the just concluded Las Vegas Opening Camp, the final one of the series this year. He ran a 4.53 and had a whopping 44.6 " vertical leap.

DB Parker Allen out of CA ran the fastest 40 yard dash at a recent camp with a 4.43 time.

I was very disappointed overall with the white player's 40 yard dash times in this all important "The Opening" series this year and the past few years for that matter. White players need to understand how recruiters use that test as an all important guide. I don't think the white players take that test seriously enough and they need to practice it more and maximize their numbers. The black kids start practicing it once they start to walk. They really do seem to have a head start on whites when it comes to the 40 yard dash.

Noticed the Groulx decommitment coupled with Shaw's been a bad month for UW. Positive side Groulx has chance to make earlier impact at schools you listed!

In the category of one that got away Randon Jernigan a WR from Georgia has opted to play baseball at The U of Georgia. Dolphin mentioned him here first last year as some colleges were showing interest in him for football.

My rule of thumb is simple. I don't have a problem when elite athletes choose baseball over football. However it is MUCH harder to make it to the national stage as a baseball player. Too many elite white athletes get stuck in the minor leagues and no one knows they even exist. Play for a big time college football team at least you get national exposure.

Why bring up Jernigan. Speed and more speed. Possibly the fastest player in the class of 2018 Jernigan is an ultra burner who ran the 60 yard dash in 6.32 seconds last year. That is moving folks. Here is hoping he succeeds in baseball!
