they say he is exeptional, only 21 years
they talk about his 9.95 in the 100m
they say he is even better on 200m, like usain bolt
they say he will try to confirm his 200m victory at barcelona
they say that it is an amazing time, with 2m/s wind
they say it's even better than his time at barcelona
they say he is truly an amazing athlete
and at the end they compare the times of the other athletes with matteo galvan, northern italian sprinter on 200m and 400m

LoLy where you read that Gay out in 200? Several weeks ago he told that probably he only would run 100m in Daegu but finally he is listed in 100 and 200m yet in trials.
If he finish 100m in good conditions, he will run 200 too in trials. If he has problems he will not run 200 in these trials, or you read any recent new?

Loly that new is in 8 June, like i told you before, it was the old decission.
In this moment he was listed for run this weekend 100 and 200, and if Gay did not tell yesterday that he miss out of 200, he will run 200.
Only if he has problems finishing 100m, he goes out 200m

it looks like he confirmed an hour ago that he won't run the 200, look at my post, i translated in english

they even say "qui ne pourra désormais pas revenir sur sa décision puisqu'il ne
s'aligne pas sur la distance aux championnats des Etats-Unis, sas
indispensable vers les Mondiaux."

"he won't be able to change his mind, since he didn't list himself for the 200m in the US champs, that are an obligatory step to go to deagu"

If Teddy Tamgho don't jump beyond 18m, I think Christophe will be again the european athlete of the year.

If finally Gay neither run in 200, big disaster for Gay and USA, and i think that Bolt would win easily in 100 and 200...

Thanks for the update ZELLGADISS, this is big news. (BTW, I enjoy your posts in the track forum, very informative

)

Now, it looks like the Jamaicans are going to win all 3 medals in the 100m in Daegu. Bolt will easily win the gold, and then some combination of Powell/Blake/Mullings will get silver and bronze.

For Lemaitre, it's now realistic to aim for 4th or 5th which would be a very good result. I don't think he can win the bronze because I believe that will require a time of low 9.8x, which I don't believe he's ready for yet.

A 4th place finish with a PB of high 9.8/low 9.9 would be an excellent result for him. What do you think?

With Gay out, Christophe have a big chance to be in final.

And with a 9.8x time... maybe in the top 4... or top 3 !!! (I'm dreaming ?)

yes Twinsen 9 and foobar75, the chances for Lemaitre are bigger now.
Dix 9.94, Gatlin 9.95 Rodgers 9.99 finally

And in Jamaica, with wet track and big wind negative -1.8:
-Powell 10.08

-Blake 10.09

-Mullings 10.10
-Carter 10.12

Carter out 100m, perhaps only substitute in relay 4x100(previous rounds)

For Lemaitre i think that 4th or 5th place is possible, and well i think that is not totally impossible now a bronze medal by example.
Of course would be make a perfect race for him but if he get his better shape in Daegu, good reaction like recently we saw and he improve a few more his first 30m, ummm all is possible.

I see a lot of runners in 9.95-10.00 but very few in 9.90 or less, we will see...
The big target for Lemaitre in Lausanne is try to be very near Powell(i hope that the jamaican can run for motivation of Lemaitre), and if he can win wow would be amazing¡¡¡

Regards to everybody

Well I go make study, taking reference last final 100m in Berlin:

-For get final, the slowest was Chambers 10.04
We can imagine that this year will be almost same, Lemaitre should make about 10.00 in semi final for get final.

-The places in the final were:

Bolt 9.58(i dont think that repeat same time or near, but about 9.7 is very possible)
Gay 9.71(very fast in that race, probably his best race, but now he is injuried, out)
Powell 9.84(perhaps he is 2nd favourite now but usually in big finals he always down level, so if Lemaitre is near , in the last 40m if Powell has crisis can to be defeated)
Bailey 9.93(good 4th place, i imagine that he could make more or less same time)
Thompson 9.93(5th place, was 2nd in Beijing, good runner perhaps he can to be around this time)
Chambers 10.00(good 6th place, i see him perhaps in this time but i think that perhaps he dont get final because he is a little worst that in 2009 and the semi finals will be very fast)

Of course we can add now runners like Dix,Rodgers,Blake and Mullings but Gay OUT.

We can see that usually in big finals , people is not super very fast by nerves or lack experience(only Bolt and Gay perhaps never fall).
If Lemaitre make 10.00 or little better in semi finals and around 9.90 in final, 4th or 5th place easily.

Yes, is very hard, but i think that Lemaitre is more fighter that most runners and we are looking that most runners are running around 9.90-10.00(very few distance really). His final part is amazing and although he is a little slow at beginning, he can defeat to several runners in the last metres.

I hope good luck to Lemaitre, and very good race now in Lausanne with probably Powell and in Paris with Bolt and Blake(interesting duel with Blake too for Daegu)

Regards to everybody

Now Yohan Blake out 200m,perhaps he was tired and with risk injury after 100m yesterday.
Another rival less for Lemaitre in 200m...

Mullings and Ashmeade, in good shape, are the favourites.

It is really sad that Tyson Gay does not run the 100 in Daegu. I also regret that Lerone Clarke has not been classified, I believe he is my favorite athlete of all athletes. But it is a great opportunity for CL. I do not know if he could win a medal, but I'm surehe will broke the european record. He will run under 9.85 this year. And I think the eighth finalist in the 100m can be Mike Rodgers.

More news about rivals of Lemaitre. Spearmon out of 200m Daegu, he is in awful shape, only 20.82 ELIMINATED, one of the best runners 200 last 5 years(21 sub20 with only 26 years).

Lemaitre is few to few near medal in 200 hehe

If he get sub20 i think that is medal sure
