Damn I'm mad. Yes I missed the race. I can't believe this. I was so excited to watch the finals. At least I'm catching a few of the events. The German Pole Vaulter who won the bronze is a hottie. A little crazy talking to her pole but who cares. Haha. So glad that Lemaitre won. We need to get a video posted as soon as possible. Sorry I missed it guys. This kills me and I'm glad you guys missed me but were here to hold down the fort and root Christophe home. It sounds like it was a very close race.

Here is the race guys. Damn it was close. It would have been such a heart breaker if he had lost. So glad he got the doube despite looking human for a change.

Congrats Christophe. You are in very rare company my friend!

Legend. Phenom. Prodigy. "The Master".

i seem to recall that Christophe is the first White man to win the European Championship in the 100-meters since 1982. how long has it been since a White man won the 200? or won the double gold?

It's happened recently Kenteris blew away the field in 02' and before that another Greek sprinter dead heated with Christie for gold and I recall Geir Moen winning the 200 in the 90's.

What an amazing runner! Even if his arm were put in a sling, I think he would find some way to win! Many of you will remember this World Junior championship in 2008, where this tremendous spirit could be seen: Christophe 2008

Yes, the "cardiac", as mentioned earlier.

Did everyone read where (French friends, correct me if I'm wrong here) American scouts are lining up with their cards at the end of the straights (I presume for U.S. colleges).

If this is so maybe we could discuss this.

Yes that's correct. It's for US College. The biggest sport team in France (team Lagardere) also tryed to get him.

his coach said that he think CL will run below 20"00 before the end of the summer.

here is the race

Opinions have been given on how much CL should bulk-up. While it is clear that a muscular physique makes many[/I] athletes faster, do we actually know that it is the determining factor?
Scanning the history books and the IAAF All-Time 100m performances what is noticeable is: 1] Many of the recent top runners achieve their PB at age 30 or above. 2] Most have medium to heavily muscled physiques â€" even Gay and Fredericks are well muscled. 3] We see very few of the slender physiques of the 1960s and 70s like Norton, Mennea and Sime â€" and going back further to Owens, but most of these athletes retired well before age 30. 4] But we also see fewer runners with absurdly muscled physiques like Christie, Chambers, Greene and Ben Johnson running fast times today. 5] Runners that achieve very fast times when very young: Lewis-Francis, Blake and Bolt, all appear to bulk up very quickly and most have histories of avoiding drug tests.
Putting this all together CL appears to be unique. He is slender, very fast and very young. And as many people on this forum have been saying he should get his style sorted out first and not worry about bulking up.
My question for the forum (perhaps the French posters can help here): Is his present coach up to the task? His starting technique â€" even before the gun fires â€" is simply terrible.

I think he needs to totally change his starting technique. His legs are too close together everytime he comes out of the blocks and this causes him to lose power. He also like Darren Cambell says, pops upright far too early. If he can widen his legs when coming out of the blocks and stay low a little longer, it should help him alot. Also he need to do lots of deadlifts, squats, lunges and plymetrics to build his strength. Also just refining his form so he smoother in everything he does. All of these things can help him dramitically.

I am shocked he ran in the 6.55 range indoors with his technique being so poor. He should be able to get into the 6.40's if he fixes these problems. I would also say that his starting to look very tired as it has been a long season. That can lead to bad form as well due to fatigue. Overall, the future is exciting. I think this coach can fix the problems but it wouldn't hurt to have another coach to advise with helping him to fix some of his form and tecnique issues.

On T&F News, Lemaitre is not listed as being a member of the French 4 x 100 team.

I think they must have taken their information from the European events site. They have the heats team listed. Lemaitre and Pognon will come in to replace Personneaux and Hallay.

I think it will be Vicaut to Lemaitre to Pognon to Mbandjock

And how would Collio be running for Italy after pulling out of the 100 only 10 metres in?

where's is he going to do this? Diamond league?

I don't know. It was not said.

In some interview from his coach, I understood that CL already run better than 9"98 while training.

Ok training is not racing, but that 's intersting for the future.

In these days read this forum and is very good.
I love Lemaitre like runner, he is great and very good talent.
Of course his tecnique have to be better if he want improve more.
But i dont understand why in this forum the people talk bad about Bolt?¿?
I dont think that he take drugs.
He is the best talent of the histoy, he was very slim like Lemaitre, he won world championship junior 200m at 15 age¡¡¡¡¡
Since 17-20 years he had several injuries because he had a lot of speed and his body was very slim, so every year he build muscle.
He is not very muscleman, he is very tall and he has very normal weight.
Lemaitre probably in 4 years will have weight about 80-84 kg(175-185 lbs), almost like Bolt for his height(I think that Bolt is about 4 cms taller) at almost 24 years now.
I think that Bolt gets his respect since that he is child please.
I admire to Bolt and Lemaitre, i dont understand really why then talk bad about him.

I'll try to explain why I think Bolt is dirty. I'll try and keep it short so I don't derail the topic. I can sum up Bolt being dirty in one word, History. the history of the sport has shown that anyone that has runs under 9.8 has been caught doing PED's or caught buying them.

Ben Johnson - PED
Tim Montgomery - PED
Justin Gatlin - PED
Maurice Green - bought $30K of PED's and said it was for a friend. maybe training partner Ato Boldon?

so I find it hard to believe that Bolt, Powell and Gay are clean. and lets face it, people like Marin Jones prove you can get tested and not get caught.

I'm sure Bolts a nice guy and would the fastest clean sprinter if not on drugs, but 9.58? come on, thats a hard time to run on a video game!

Bolt is a prodigy of the speed, i think that is not same that gatlin, montgomery or Ben Johnson.
Bolt is very tall, is very fast, he was known since that he was child, not like others that suddenly appears.
Nobody run so fast like Bolt, but NOBODY is so tall, agile and fast like Bolt.
Gatlin with 185 cmx max(6.1 max)he ran about few more 41 steps in his false record.
It is FAKE.
If a guy so tall like Bolt is agile and fast, the speed of Bolt is logical.
I repeat NOBODY so tall like Bolt had his qualities and at least I believein Bolt in this moment.

Bolt with 15 years won wc 200 m junior, he had drugs?i think 99.99% no
I think that with 15 years he ran no professional 100m about 10.3.
If he later improved his start and tecnique race, his times i think that are logical.
Of course for the other runners of the world his timesare IMPOSSIBLE.

Zellgadiss, the reason many of us think he is a cheater is because he didn't just break the WR he shattered it. What next? Is he going to run a 9 second flat time? Think outside the box here. Since he's black many of the DWF's won't question his record but we here at Castefootball do. If you think Bolt's time is legit my friend then you yourself are buying into the myth of black athletic supremacy.

If bolt make perfect race his top is 9.4x and in 200 he will down 19 seconds.
The most coachs of worldwide, explain why Bolt is so fast.
He is very tall, he is super agile and he has great coordination.
It is not myth.
If Bolt is like Ben Johnson,Montgomery or Gatlin, runners not very tall is more doubtful that they get so potence for run so fast.
But Bolt runs with big stride, is his secret. Lemaitre has good stride too because is tall and it is big advantage agains his rivals.

I hope that in the futureyou see that Bolt is clean andyou excuse to him.

Is your goal to come on this site and praise Bolt? I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure that doesn't fit the agenda here.

As Albinosprint mentioned if you'd like to discuss this further follow that link. This thread if for Lemaitre and not to discuss why you feel Bolt is clean.
