I don't often watch the news, because you know, they are full of sh1t and I'm not buying what they are selling, but in the past week I casually observed a few of the major news stories here in Canada. Among them being Black Lives Matter, Gay Pride, Atheists being allowed to lead the Church, and Eliminating the Gender Pay Gap. One that caught my eye is an impending possible strike by Canada Post. Canada Post is the national mail carrier for standard mail shipments and parcels in Canada. Apparently there will possibly be a strike at Canada Post because women are not paid as much as men and society needs to close the "gender pay gap" and eliminate institutional oppression and the patriarchy.
"Gender pay gap" eh? Feminists, male feminists, liberals, and other raging leftists like to claim that women are systematically oppressed and not paid the same amount as a man for the same type of labour. They then point to salary amounts within similar occupations as some sort of proof. But what they often don't take into account is levels of implied responsibility, stress, or danger, and the fact that even 2 people with the same job title can have vastly different job expectations. Some of the facts that these leftists consistently omit include the facts surrounding workplace safety and the level of danger involved in work. More precisely: Men are delegated and implied as being responsible for more dangerous and potentially harmful work, which by the rules of the market, should necessitate a higher wage.
The fact that men are infinitely more likely to die, suffer an amputation, crushing, or otherwise seriously debilitating injury is something that I've never ***once*** seen discussed in the mainstream media, or brought up by any member of the Government as something that needs to be fixed or solved. Clearly this statistical fact is not something that is in line with the leftist narrative, who are consistently pushing women as some sort of victims. Actually the truth is its men who are the most mistreated in the workplace yet I don't see anyone saying a god damn thing about that!
According to this source (http://www.inside-man.co.uk/2015/03/03/97-employees-die-work-men-2009-2014-figures/) 97% of workplace fatalities between 2009-2014 in the UK were men, specifically between 2009 and 2014 528 people died on the job in the UK and 510 were men. In Canada and USA the numbers are very close to being the same, where the vast majority (90%+) of workplace deaths or injuries are male.
Just something for us all to think about. We keep hearing about "white privilege" and "male privilege" but I guess no one in the media or government wants the address the issue of men dying in the workplace? Clearly no one sees the issue of exclusively men dying in the workplace as an issue that needs addressing or needs to be fixed, rather all we hear about is "the patriarchy", and "male privilege", and "women are oppressed". Do the men continue to receive their privilege once they've died on the job?
