I don't think we're paying enough attention to Brad Johnson these days. What this guy has accomplished, taking over a sinking ship like the Minnetonka Vikings, and steering them to five straight wins, is phenomenal. He plays mistake free football, and makes plays when needed.

Even after his bomb to Koren "Hands of Stone" Robinson (who bobbled that pass big time before hauling it in) they still question Brad's arm strength.

Here are some quotes from articles today:

Koren Robinson: "He's throwing it on time and he's throwing it precise," Robinson said. "He's like Greg Maddux."

Mike Tice: "What a great throw from Brad. He's having hernia surgery tomorrow," Tice joked. "He threw that thing as far as he could throw it."

Way to go Brad Johnson!

On a lighter note, don't know if you guys heard this anecdote but he supposedly convinced his wife to name their newborn son, Maximus. Yes, his son's name is now "Maximus Johnson!"

You think there will be a QB controversy when Daunte gets better?

Is Daunte even coming back? I read that this might be a career-ending injury.

I think the Vikings would be better off with Johnson than Culpepper.

If Daunted Dulpepper returns then there will be no controversy, they
will give the starting job to da brutha. Thats the way it works
and thats why we are on this site. I have heard the commentators
downplay Brad's performance and the teams spectacular Lazarus
like comeback from the dead. All due to Brad Johnson, don't tell
me it was Tice, cause hes the Menza member that started Dulpepper
and stayed with him during his scorching play before getting injured
(on a typical dumbass run, what was a 6-5 260 lb quarterback thinking
on that one?)

I've found several comments by sports writers giving kudos to Mike Tice for "righting the ship" after the fiasco on the lake, and that he has probably secured a CONTRACT EXTENSION, if you can believe that BS.

Anybody who thinks the Vikings come back has ANYTHING to do with anybody besides Brad Johnson is a moron and hasn't been paying attention. They're looking for any excuse that will sustain and support the myth of black athletic superiority, in this case Culpepper over Johnson, rather than looking at whats happened objectively.

Even if they WERE to award the starting job to Johnson next year, he'd be looking over his shoulder and the first time they got behind or he played a poor game he'd get yanked in favor of Culpepper. The best Johnson can hope for is that they'll let him 'compete' for the starting job next year. He'd be better off trying to turn the Vikings comeback into a starting job for himself somewhere else, rather than play backup for the Mini Vikes.

Some stat guru on ESPN even came out with a study that said turnovers are the number one predictor of wins/losses, the more TO's the more losses. Brad Johnson plays uh, SMART, and doesn't turn the ball over, therefore the Vikings are winning again.

I didnt see the game yesterday, but apparently the announcers couldnt stop praising the vikings "new athletic offensive line" and crediting them with the new found vikings success.

The Vikes were lying face down in the water, dead to the world. Without Moss, Daunte was throwing picks at a feverish pace. All hell was breaking loose in Viqueen land on every front. Their ship was broken and sunk lower than the Titanic. But wait, something happened to refloat their boat...but what?

Culpepper was replaced by Brad Johnson, who has led the team to 6 consecutive wins. He's thrown only 2 picks on the year with 8 TD's.He is the REASON for the turnaround, no need to look elsewhere. What, is that hard to believe? Didn't Brad lead the hapless Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory a couple of short years ago? How many SB's have the Vikes won with Daunte? Z-E-R-O !!!

Much as I hate the Vice Kings, I want Brad to win simply to proove our
point. That all things being equal a white man will get the job
done more often than a brutha.

Brad has 6 wins in a row to get the Vikings back in the playoff hunt and they still talk more about the injured and (criminaly charged Culpepper). What a joke! The charges will filed today against several Vikings Players.Brad Johnson is a class act on & off the field but he has what they call the white disease. The media just doesn't find him exciting enough.I'm rooting for my Steelers but I just want to congratulate B.Johnson on a amazing turnaround of the thug Vikings.
