Since 2005, the Spartans have had 7, 5, 7, 10, 10, 10, 12, 8, 9, 8, 8, 10, 11, 11, and 10 white starters. The Spartans look to start 11 in 2020

MSU is usually always a good team to root for. QB Rocky Lombardi is the man now with Lewerke gone and he has played well through 2 games. TE Matt Dotson is back again and he will make a few catches every game, but he is the only relevant offensive skill position player. Snow plow OL is always good.

On defense it starts with the DL which is pretty loaded with talent. Panasiuk returns as a starter while last years backups Jacob Slade and Drew Beesley move into starting roles. Noah Harvey is the starting MLB and he looks like the next great MSU linebacker, great size and good production so far. LB Chase Kline sees plenty of action too, through 2 games he has 5 tackles. Backup safeties Hallock and Mandryk might see some time throughout the season but probably not much.

Players to watch:
QB Payton Thorne, QB Theo Day, WR Cade McDonald, TE Adam Berghorst, TE Parks Gissinger, OT Luke Campbell, OG JD Duplain, C Matt Allen, DT Maverick Hansen, DE Jack Camper, LB Luke Fulton, LB Chase Kline, S Tate Hallock, S Jack Mandryk

OFFENSE
QB Rocky Lombardi (JR)
TE Matt Dotson (SR)
LT AJ Arcuri (SR)
LG Blake Bueter (JR)
C Nick Samac (JR)
RG Matt Carrick (JR)
RT Kevin Jarvis (JR)

DEFENSE
DE Jacub Panasiuk (SR)
DT Jacob Slade (SO)
DE Drew Beesley (SR)
LB Noah Harvey (JR)

Thanks Red Raider. Michigan State is an anomaly. In this day and age of black spandex touchy feely defensive play Michigan State still plays a very physical brawny type of old time football. Granted their offenses haven't been particularly explosive. But they are a true blue collar lunch pail type of team that is going to make their opponents feel the pain of being in a rugged football game. That was a big win beating a more caste oriented team in Michigan.

I have gotten some early looks at them and I like what they are doing on defense. Chase Kline is a sophomore edge player with a cool number (#21).

I wish they would showcase a white receiver or two though. Anybody remember the sensational WR Blair White? His senior year in 2009 he had a 70-990-9 stat line. He went undrafted ( another caste turd moment) but caught 36 passes his rookie year for Indy in 2010. After that he disappeared. Back issues I'm not quite sure what happened?

Lombardi seems to be a gunslinger - lots of deep passes so far for what is usually a more balanced run heavy offense.

Lombardi outgunned HArbaughs handpicked black quarterback last week.

Very pleased they took down Michigan!

Yes remember Blair White, didn't realize he had such a ln impressive stat line his SR season. I'll always remember his Hail Mary TD catch against Wisconsin!
