A first for me. I cannot ever recall a Saturday with such a lackluster TV lineup. What an awful TV lineup of games. I guess the Notre Dame game and maybe the early Oklahoma State game are the "highlights" if you will but for the second straight week ABC is putting on another caste affair as Louisville battles Miami in prime time no less.

Two other factors make matters worse. First ESPN is so beholden to their ACC Network ( which isn't even available where I live) that they can't improvise and put the Wake-NC State game on an ESPN station?
Clemson plays a little guy but heck it's Clemson put them on anyway?

And the COVID undertow is still causing some havoc on the schedule. Five games have been cancelled or postponed this weekend including Baylor's opener against Houston. We knew about BYU and Army being shelved with a make up date in mind but North Carolina will not makeup their canceled game against Charlotte.

I'll be blunt. This has been a crappy start to the season. I thought most of the games last week were lackluster and it is hard to get excited about tomorrow's TV lineup which features a lot of non Power 5 teams. I'm sure there will be some good bits here and there but this does not feel like an ordinary Saturday in September.

Chalk it up to growing pains during difficult times but cripes things need to pick up and soon. Hell the Big Ten doesn't start in over a month from now and the SEC still hasn't started. I suspect over time things will get ironed out and these dreaded postponements will finally stop occurring. And I also believe the Big Ten roll out will go much smoother. But in the meantime these opening college football moments have not been so great. At least that's how I see it and I am a diehard.

Coastal Carolina is playing tonight. From what I saw vs Kansas last week and tonight they are a very palatable team and one we should keep an eye on.

In these early games it seems that the qbs are all black quarterbacks. Whites have magically stopped poessessing the ability to play qb somehow. Just like they stopped having the ability to play rb, cb , wr and safety.

This is all playing out now in front of our eyes just like the magical decline in whites ability to play the aforementioned positions. Just wanted to remind everyone of this.

We've long kept track of the black quarterback push. Looks like they have finally dumbed down most offenses for them to run now. Most run a gimmick read/option scheme.

It’s funny - they run those offenses yet they still have losing records.

Watching Notre Dame game (USA network) and eight of their players are out. So I see #24 on D and the announcer explains why he is in the lineup but neglects to say his name. Jack Kiser sophomore. Plus the punt returner is senior walk on Matt something. Can't make out who it is and is not listed on their roster as far as I can tell? Will figure it out.

Late Edit: Sophomore LB Jack Lamb is seeing his first action of season too. Jack Kiser not Mahoney is #24 on field. Great open field tackle. He is a sophomore LB too. Matt Salerno is the PR. Junior wide receiver #32 doesn't match roster lists. No wonder I was having problems figuring him out.

On the one hand you would like to see future starter QB Uga-Buga do horrible for Clemson. Yet the back-up receivers are where whitey gets to play. A no win situation. As an added bonus Uga Buga is gifted the starting offensive line against an overmatched FCS school masquerading as a prep school for military officers while wearing du rags and performing not the baby daddy dances.

App. State WR Thomas Hennigan nice 36 yard catch!

Tulsa LB Grant Sawyer a player to watch! Had a nice game vs. Ok.St!

Strong debut by Jurkovec! Good qb play has finally returned to BC
Jurkovec can make Boston College relevant again! 300 yards passing & 2 TD's vs. Duke

Good start for them. Sounds like they were dominant running the ball.

Currently watching Marshall Vs Appalachian State. Both QBs look good.

Hennigan is up to 3catches for 52yds. Let's hope he can top 100 in consecutive weeks!

SMU is making it look like pratice today so far at North Texas. They are about to go up 21-0 but TJ McDaniel has not played as much as the other rb is having a big day. TJ has 2 carries for 12 yards. I think this one is going to turn into a laugher and a huge blowout. TJ McDaniel should get plenty of carries but he might be 2nd string if this continues. I hope not.

WR Griffin Hebert TD catch for La.Tech!

TE Will Mallory (Miami) 17 yard TD catch

WR Alec Pierce (Cincinnati) tweaked a knee at practice; sat out vs. weaker opponent. Hopefully should be ready next week vs. Army

RB's TJ McDaniel 8 carries for 35 yards ; Tyler Lavine 6 carries for 48 yards....SMU up 34 - 7 at half

Thanks for the update, I was wondering why Alec Pierce didn’t show up in the box score.

Hartman has a live arm - fun to watch him drop back and sling it.

Payton Wilson is a beast for NC St!

Hate to be the Debbie Downer but McDaniel is starting to look like the back up for SMU. The good new is that another sophomore RB should get at least 5 carries a game for them and has looked good.

Payton Wilson is a mean SOB, Just body slammed the WF RB to the ground and got right in the RBs face when he popped up - didn't give an inch. He plays with an edge and intensity to him.
