Since 2005, the Buffs have started 10, 11, 9, 9, 12, 12, 14, 15, 13, 7, 8, 8, 7, and 6 whites. Look for them to stay at 6 this year.

The Mike MacIntyre era in Boulder is over after a dreaful 6 year, 30-44 campaign finishing last in the Pac 12 south in all but one season. For his efforts, he was rewarded with the DC position at New Miss. In comes Mel Tucker, the ex- Georgia DC that has hopped around the college and pro ranks for the last 15 years on the defensive side and has Vance Joseph and Jon Embree 2.0 written all over him. Both CU and CSU now have ex Georgia coordinators as their coaches.

The lone weapon on offense is Brady Russell a local kid from Fort Collins that walked on in 2018 and earned the starting nod, and a scholarship, towards the second half of last year hauling in 5 catches for 41 yards.

Senior QB Steven Montez has received the Tennessee Titan Marcus Mariota treatment his entire time at CU. Completely pedestrian with some flashy runs with his starting position never once brought into question. I’d expect no change from this philosophy for his senior year, though if it does all three QB’s behind him on the depth chart are white.

The defense will be anchored by a trio of linebackers, led by returning starter Nate Landman Who compiled 107 tackles, 2 INTs, 6 Pass Deflections, and 2 Forced fumbles in the 2018 campaign. Pre-season All Pac 12. Jonathan Van Diest is another local product from Cherry Creek that saw limited but actual action in his Freshman year. Carson Wells also saw action during his RS Freshman campaign with 34 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Hopefully this young core can be a mainstay the next 2-3 seasons

Offense
Kary Kutsch – LG (Junior)
Colby Pursell – RG (Sophomore)
Brady Russell – TE (Sophomore)

Defense
Nate Landman – ILB (Junior)
Jonathan Van Diest – ILB (Sophomore)
Carson Wells – OLB (Sophomore)

Two /Three Deeps
OL: Frank Fillip, Kanan Ray, Heston Page
QB: Blake Stenstrom or Tyler Lytle
S: Sam Noyer
WR: Curtis Chiaverini, Jake Groth, Alex Smith
TE: Beau Bisharat

And if anyone was hopeful that future recruiting classes might get better (why would you with a black head coach that hails from the SEC), here is their new Director of Recruiting.

Cymone George is in her first year as the director of football recruiting at the University of Colorado, as she was named to the position on January 1, 2019. She is one of just a handful of women serving in this most important role in major college football.

George, 28, joined the CU staff from her alma mater, Georgia Southern University, where she spent three years (2016-18) as the Eagles’ director of football operations; in 2018, was one of just five women to serve in that position. Named to the position just ahead of the 2016 season, she oversaw the daily administrative and operational duties within GSU’s program, along with coordinating team travel and other assorted responsibilities

haha my Alma mater going full retard, not a bad move though if "recruiting" is what I think entails, still though, this program is going nowhere this coming decade

Nice stuff Claimjumper.

I admit I have not liked this team for a long time now. Why the hell would Colorado be so caste heavy in such a white state?

And I agree Montez QB is a clumsy player who plays ugly. Uninspiring. Watching Colorado is like trudging though a muddy swamp. At least throw a white WR or two out there to make it interesting?

However one way to soften me up is to start three white linebackers.

Weirdest sight in college football is when that Buffalo tears through the field before home games. That is pretty wild.

The CU Buffs announced today that they are “unretiring” three numbers, one of which being one of the most decorated Coloradoans in history: All American, Rhodes Scholar, 2x NFL Rushing Leader, WW2 Veteran, and 30+ year Supreme Court Justice Byron “Whizzer” White. The press release stresses that they think it’ll help the program because players are asking for these numbers all the time. Whatever that means

And yes, before you ask a freshman and newly recruited afflete will be the one with the privilege of wearing the number
