Since '05, Baylor has started 6, 5, 9, 9, 10, 3, 6, 8, 8, 6, 7, 6, and 6. They will start 7 (8 if you include the rarely used fullback) in 2019.

The starters are almost the same as last year. Jake Fruhmorgen has moved from tackle to starting center and 2 year starting center Sam Tecklenberg has shifted out to right guard.

James Lynch is a future NFL player, he is a STUD! His backup Rob Saulin should see a lot of action this season (someone mentioned him in the DL thread), I’d love to see him take over the other starting DT spot.

Clay Johnston could very well be drafted in 2020 after being a 4 year contributor and 3 year starter.

Former OL Ryan Miller has moved back to his HS position of DT, look for him to earn some playing time in 2020 and 2021 but likely not this season.

QB Charlie Brewer
*FB Koby Bullard
TE Christoph Henle
LT Connor Galvin
C Jake Fruhmorgen
RG Sam Tecklenberg

DT James Lynch
MLB Clay Johnston

Players to watch
WR Jackson Gleeson, TE Ben Sims, OL Casey Phillips, OL Ty Smith, OL Blake Bedier, DT Rob Saulin, LB Owen Rogers, LB Jake Copeland

Nice write up RR!

Baylor's Defense caught my attention this preseason! DT Rob Saulin is Listed as a "Starter" in the Athlon's publication. Giving them a total of 3.

Justin Smith ; Kyle Williams ; JJ Watt ; Derek Wolfe ; etc can't play forever; some more players must take their place. Know it's still early....but D-Lineman James Lynch has the look of a long time starter in the NFL.

Clay Johnston is a tackling machine!

I was going off of the depth chart that Baylor released about 2 weeks ago where they had Saulin backing up Lynch, let’s hope Athlon is right and Rob Saulin can take the other DT spot!

Thanks Red raider.

I agree with the above posts. I came away very impressed with LB Johnston in the couple of games I caught of Baylor last season.

Baylor is usually a mixed bag at best. But one name listed as a back up truly intrigues.

WR Jackson Gleeson who is a red shirt freshman just might be the fastest white college player this season. Not sure Beck from West Virginia will see the field this season?

Gleeson has turbo jet deep speed. Praying he gets a chance this season.

The depth chart has been released and it looks like Rob Saulin is listed as co-starter at TE now, not DT for him as of right now. Jackson Gleeson cracked the 2 deep at WR and looks to make some noise this year.

Ex Chicago Bears/Oklahoma D-Lineman ; now ESPN CFB analyst Dusty Dvoracek said "James Lynch is an absolute monster; " compared him to JJ Watt!!

Too bad tackling machine LB Clay Johnston has been out for the year

Charlie Brewer is an underrated QB.

James Lynch will likely reach 10 sacks this year which is impressive for someone his size. He started off the season super hot but has cooled off a little bit (likely due to more attention from O-Lines). He is pretty much solidified as a future draft pick, I’d be extremely surprised if he was anything lower than a 3rd round pick whenever he decides to enter the draft.
