Arguably the most anti-white program in the country, Mississippi State has started 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 2, 2 and 2, 2, 3, and 1 white(s) since 2005. The uber-athletic QB Nick Fitzgerald is one of the best in the country and will hear his name in the draft next spring. Oddly enough as Fitzgerald sits out the opener due to a violation of team rules, the lone white starter will be redshirt freshman WR Austin Williams. By all reports the 6'3" wideout has been a breakout star in camp, CBS Sports even selected him as one of the potential breakout underclassmen of the year. Williams is the lone bright spot on a very dark roster.

The precious few back ups on the two deep include LG Evans Wilkerson and C Blake Mitchell. Keep an eye on RS Freshman safety Landon Guidry who could sneak onto the field.

Like Free above just when you thought it would be safe to throw this into the garbage disposal they catch you by the ankle with a running white QB and promising young white WR.

Usually I have some sense of whether a player has NFL ability but I must admit I can't get a read on Fitzgerald. Of course I like white QBs who can move and he has solid speed and is a physical runner. Almost makes you wonder if he would be better suited at RB. Not denigrating his QB ability but I can't tell, at least so far, if he is an NFL caliber QB. He does show up on top ten lists which is a good sign.

Fitz is a beast. What completion % will he need to get drafted ? He is sitting at just under 55% for his career right now.

19 attempts 159 yards rushing for the first game of the season if he keeps that up he could go close to the Holy grail mark of 2000 yards even the most Caste team couldn't ignore that. Maybe a stretch but passing Lamar Jacksons 1601 which I think is the QB D1 record for a single season would be awesome. 6.6 yards per attempt right now is better than Lamars 6.3.
