Since 2005, Iowa State has started 14, 12, 8, 9, 6, 11, 10, 11, 10, 9, 5, 6, and 11 whites. They fall back down to 9 this year, all on the offense led by sixth year senior Kyle Kempt. It is disappointing to see a school like Iowa State field no white defenders but the positive news is that this team seems to have slightly bounced back demographically from the two years before last that saw it field a starter number on par with the SEC. Overall, the team has good depth and a lot of white two-deep back ups on defense so hopefully they can make it onto the field frequently this year.

Offense -
QB - Kyle Kempt
FB - Sam Seonbuchner
WR - Landon Akers
TE - Chase Allen
LT - Sean Foster
LG - Josh Mueller
C - Julian Good-Jones or Colin Newell
RG - Josh Knipel
RT - Bryce Meeker

Defense -
None

Back ups include QB Zeb Noland, FB Cole Anderson, TE Dylan Soehner, LT Robert Hudson, LG Will Windham, C Colin Newell, RG Trevor Downing, RT Alex Kleinow, DE Spencer Benton, NG Tucker Robertson, DE Matt Leo, and LB Jake Hummel.

Nice write up!

All 9 on offense! Wasn't expecting that. If a couple of these backup defenders can emerge as starters Cyclones definitely gain some steam from me. I'll still cheer them on against the Oklahoma's and Texas' of Big 12!

Thanks Vanilla.

One of the few college coaches I actually like, Matt Campbell doesn't give off that caste odor that most other coaches marinate in.
His recruiting practices back up my feelings.

That said it is always disconcerting to see a team with no starting white defenders.

But I still have faith in Campbell that things will sort themselves out somewhat favorably.

One big point. I do not know how good WR Landon Akers is because he just returned kicks last season. But he is a player to root hard for because he can ABSOLUTELY FLY.

Iowa State suspends four true freshman dindus indefinitely for “multiple incidents of poor choices and behavior".

These coaches will never learn.

Backup QB Noland playing great against OU today. He short armed a wide open pass to Akers. It was a completion but should have been a TD. Excellent double move by Akers! Also I believe I saw LB Hummel pummel an OU RB!

Rose, Leo played most of the snaps, and biggest surprise for their season is QB Brock Purdy, he's everywhere.

one guy, Greg Eisworth (DB) has pretty good sense of defending.
a QB/DB in high school, looks he's from single dad family (white), mom is black and married another white person.
