I'm here in Amsterdam and will watch it "real time" WL.
And I've been watching cycling, swimming and rowing (all Euro championships) over the past several days.
It's all happening here - I'll suffer overload by week's end.

I just looked at the 5 heats posted. It must be incorrect. No Vicaut, no Brits, no Tortu.
And they say 48 starters where 5 heats is only 40. Strange. Will see if it all changes tomorrow

I believe all the big guns have pre-qualified for the Semis.
Those that are below whatever the qualification time/criteria is, have to qualify by running in the heats - like Jan Volko, Henrik Larsson, Julian Rues.

As far as the sprints go on the mens side we have so many stories to follow.

No Christophe Lemaitre because of injury. This really sucks but that is life.

Ramil Guliyev trying to make history as possibly the greatest white sprinter ever outside of V. Borzov.

Fillipo Tortu's coming out party. He has already gone sub 10 at only 20 years of age. What's next in this wonderkids
career? Can he medal in his first major championships?

Julian Reus and his never ending soap opera career. Can he finally put it all together infront of his home crowd and get that medal in a major champs he has dreamed about as a kid? Also can he finally get the elusive sub 10? He is stuck at 10.01!

What can youngster Jan Volko do? He has a p.b. of 10.13 this year. At only 22 his future looks bright. How will he handle the
pressure on the big stage?

Who can possibly surprise us? The Swedish kid, the Ukrainian kid? Who knows but it will be fun to watch! :)

It looks like most of our guys made it out of the first round. Some of the youngsters like Larrson didn't, but that
is common for most as nerves will get the best of you at a young age. The conditions were basically with little or
no wind. I thought the times would be a little faster but we will see that in the semi finals as long as the conditions
are good for sprinting. Like sprintstar said, I'm not able to find a working link in the U.S. yet either. This is so weird
with this being a major championships. I will keep searching. Anyone here have a good link to watch these champs?

No, i haven't seen "live" even here in Europe. Cycling seems to have monopolised broadcasting today.
I think tomorrow, with an all day athletics schedule, might be better

Tomorrow you will be able to get a live feed.
Today was just some heats - nothing much to see.

I just looked at the start lists for the Men's 100m semi-finals . . . Guliyev is not running.
Tortu is the only one who has a chance for a medal.
Let's hope he does well.

Wow, that Silvan Wicki of Switzerland looked pretty strong. This is the first I have ever heard of him.

I agree. He is a new name for me too. He Silvan Wicki I think is more of a 200 meters specialist. He is their
national champion this year over that distance. I though Jan Volko and Julian Reus looked good. Volko had a
horrible lane draw in lane 8 but still finished 2nd. We will see how tomorrow goes. We really need to get at least
2 or 3 of our guys into the in finals. I hoping for four. Hope Tortu doesn't get nervous. I doubt he will. The kid has
ice in his veins. Sad Guliyev & Lemaitre aren't in this event. Lemaitre is hurt and Guliyev is focusing on the deuce.

Men's decsthlon 100 within the hour. Be interesting to see the form of Kevin Mayer (FRANCE) and Tim Duckworth (GB). MAYER is a potential 9000 point man while Duckworth is dual US/BRIT studying in the States. He's run 10.40 this year.

Yes. But he messed up his best event, the PV, with a "no height" last comp (i think).
Now he's out of the competition again. You rarely see this with the top guys.

Sorry, just watching on BBC free-to-air here.

Only Tortu will contest the final. He qualified 5th into the final with his 10.12.
He'll need to find maybe 2/10ths somehow to take it.

Reus 10.37, Jakubcwiz 10.32, Volko 10.31. None a threat in their heats

Asher-Smith 10.93, Luckenkemper 10.98, Schippers 11.05.
Schippers (to me) struggled to get clear of the field and was probably flat out. Hopefully she can find a little more.
Luckenkemper seemed to have best finishing speed of the 3 but who knows what 2 hours will bring us

The men's 100m final is already disappointing.
Tortu was the only white European to make the final, and I think he is going to struggle to finish in the medals.

On the women's side Luckenkemper and Schippers, both look to have a good chance for silver and bronze, but Dina Asher-Smith from the UK looks good for the gold.
We'll know in a few hours.

Schippers is too slow to get to full running speed, and that top end speed isn't what it was a few years ago.

I think only 4 of the men's 8 finalist in the 100m were born in Europe.
