Week 6 started last night with a Sunbelt Game - Ga Southern vs. Arkansas St.

Ark St. QB Justice Hansen threw 4 Tds (along with 4 ints).

Tonight is not must see TV as Louisville and NC St play each other. Hoping for another Louisville loss.

NC State about to upset Louisville. The NC St QB Finley has thrown some really nice passes - 50/50 balls, back shoulder passes - real accurate - gets no press though. He still has another year of eligibility so maybe he will be another potential 2019 first rounder.

I hope this week is better than last week where white WR's put up paltry numbers overall. Even though on paper no one game stands out I think it will turn out to be an interesting Saturday. For starters there are three Big Ten matchups I will have my eye on. The biggie is Michigan -Michigan State. The Michigan State QB Lewenke is someone to follow because he has shown the ability to break out some long runs. Their D has more than the average number of white players and for Michigan DE Chase Winovich has been unstoppable so far this season.

Wisconsin- Nebraska begs the question is that outsider caste recruiting coach of theirs finally seeing the light as three corn fed local Nebraska players are now setting the tone on D and they are winning? Not a coincidence in my mind. This will be a big test to see if the Cornhuskers are finally moving in the right direction. Wisconsin is ranked very highly so it is very important Nebraska shows up and maybe pulls the upset. With the AD recently axed ( Trev Alberts turned down an interview) Riley better start winning or it is good night Charlie for him as well.
On paper even though it is at Northwestern, the Penn State game looks like another cakewalk for them. But and this should get Leo's attention QB Clayton Thorson has played fair but not great yet this season. Mel Kiper is very high on him and he has the size, mobility and talent the NFL is looking for at QB so perhaps he breaks out here. Not saying NW will win but this could be closer than people anticipate.
Ohio State should roll over Maryland and look for Iowa to bounce back against Illinois.
Is Notre Dame any good this year? Hard to tell. They would have made things easier on themselves if they had beaten Georgia even though in my mind a game they should have pulled out. They should beat NC who has looked lost most of the season and without their top WR Proehl they have a giant hill to climb even though the game is in Chapel Hill.
West Virginia is on the road at TCU. That is going to be tough but the Grier to Sills connection has been dynamite so far this year.
Auburn is home vs. Ole Miss. And yet again this game features an athletic QB who is getting the attention of NFL scouts. Jarrett Stidham had a miserable game against Clemson, (who doesn't?) but has made great strides since then. Hopefully he can connect big with lightening in a bottle WR Will Hastings.
Both QB's Thorson and Stidham are listed I believe as 2019 NFL draft prospects but both could declare for the 2018 draft. With Darnold staying in school, media hero Lamar Jackson wobbling ( thank goodness) and Josh Allen having a bad year--albeit his offensive teammates are among the worst in Division One football--the only player left standing with the exception of exciting Baker Mayfield is Josh Rosen who while talented lacks the kind of foot speed and athletic pedigree I prefer to see in white QB's. Which is why Thorson and Stidham are in position to make a giant leap. Will they be able to is one of the intriguing questions in college football as we head into the half way point of the season.

Northwestern is shutting down Barkley so far. McSorley looking good in the passing game. Have to think Mayfield will jump over Barkley now as the top Heisman candidate.

Nice write up - don't forget Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson. He was left in a terrible situation after Hugh Freeze was fired to due shady recruiting tactics and running a dirty program (no surprise really).

McGay hyping up the black superback for Northwestern - Don't recall any positive press for Dan Vitale when he played the position so well for the Wildcats.

I wonder if the video game numbers in college football have anything to do with the fact that 80% of the population is not recruited to play defense?

It amazes me how these high scores are just an accepted reality. It's not all just wide open offenses - it's bad defenses that don't tackle.

pisses me off, Epstein rips off a 50+ yd gain and then gets to stand on sidelines while the negro rb get to run for the TD...Dudek barely getting any passes his way and when he does it is sideline for short gains... Lovie Smith has this continuous dumb look on his face, like he cant keep up mentally...lol

Iowa State up on Oklahoma, 38-31, in Norman, late in the 4th. Iowa State Senior White walk-on QB, Kyle Kempt, started the game today and is 18/24 for 343 yards and 3 TD 0 INT, scorching the Sooners coal D in Norman with his (assuming) first start ever as QB.

Where has this guy been? Rotting on the bench, I see. Where were the talent evaluators while he was in high school and why didn't he receive a scholarship? Rhetorical questions, I know.

I guess this BSPN reporter read my post about Kyle Kempt and responded via Twitter as follows:
i

Kyle Kempt spent two seasons at Oregon State and one season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas -- and never played in a game. He just threw for 343 yards with three touchdowns in Iowa State's 38-31 upset at No. 3 Oklahoma. Yes, some guys still get overlooked.

Oklahoma really crapped the bed on that loss - Mayfield's margin of error moving forward is very small for him to be considered the front runner for the Heisman.

Every time a top team gets upset my immediate thought is how this is going to magically help Ohio State weasel up the rankings after their almost perrenial early season loss
