Last night's MAC games were uninspiring as Ohio WR Brendan Cope was carted off the field with a leg injury. I was impressed with Central Michigan's DE Joe Ostman. He was gobbling up players behind the line of scrimmage. About 6'3 250 don't expect him to be taken in the early rounds. But he could sneak into the 6th or 7th rounds. Looks very good to me and I suspect he will be invited (we hope) to the combine.
I don't think KS WR Dalton Schoen will play this Saturday which sucks. WR/PR Trever Ryen might play.
Tonight WR Scotty Miller, coming off a good game and RB Ian Eriksen will be in action. Good luck to both of them.

Ostman looks like the Next CMU defensive player to make it pro. Following in the footsteps of Nick Bellore and Frank Zombo before him!

Meant to start this thread last night...Thanks Shadowlight...made sure to put Ostman in Pre-season D-Line thread...he is NFL Starting material no doubt!

Ohio U. Soph. QB Nathan Rourke had a nice 68 yard TD run on 2nd play of game. Finished w his career high 165 yards rushing & 2 TD's on 15 carries(his 5th 100+ Rushing game this season!)...also had TD Catch on trick play thrown by WR Brenden Cope.

OJ Ouellette was bottled up for the most part....finished w 74 yards Rushing on 24 carries

Akron WR Austin Wolf had 5 receptions for 57 yards & TD

Saw Wolf's TD catch. Good body control inside the pylon. Doesn't have the best stats but is a longshot for a camp invite.

Northern Illinois D-End Sutton Smith showing the wheels on a 60 yard TD on fumble recovery! Announcers raved over the former HS RB's speed. Tied for 3rd in Nation in Sacks & 2nd in TFL's

Neither he nor Ostman are finalists for the Nagurski award though.

During the Bowling Green game the announcer said WR Scotty Miller is the fastest player on the team which we all kind of figured. It is a shame they look disorganized and Miller does not get enough looks--gee a white WR not getting a lot of targets that's a new one ha---. Miller's stat line for the night was 3-51-1 which is fair but he should be MORE INVOLVED. Nice to see a good night by RB Ian Eriksen but it could have been so much better. He seems banged up. Also keep an eye on his teammate sophomore WR Matthew Sexton. He made a few plays last night--did drop a TD unfortunately --but he looks very smooth out there

Three crazy good exciting DE's in the MAC and two of them are just sophomores. Eastern Michigan's Maxx Crosby continues to terrorize backfields with three more sacks last night. Very rangy looking he sort of reminds me of Carl Nassib. Eastern Michigan is a team to root for next season. Joe Ostman could be drafted in 2018. As for Sutton Smith see above from 22, this cat LIVES in opponents backfields. See below highlight of him taking it to the house. You may have to sift a bit because I can't isolate these ESPN videos. Great wheels

I think Miller will have a bounce back year in 2018. Bowling Green's freshman qb Doege looks pretty good and should only get better with time which will bode well for Miller.

The past 2 games Maxx Crosby has 6 sacks 2 FF and a FR for a touchdown. He has 11 sacks and 4 forced fumbles on the season, only a redshirt sophomore!

Only two weeks left of regular season games and what a downer it is for me when there are no more College games on Saturday apart from Bowl Games. Once again the schedule makers messed up. The 8:00 EST Stanford vs. Cal ( RB Laird!) game is an ok but not great matchup but the night schedule is pretty damn bad overall. All the good games are early or mid day. At the headache inducing same time. Would it have killed the Big Ten to have a night game featuring either Iowa, Northwestern or Penn State? Or better yet the key matchup of Michigan and Wisconsin which is shoved in at noon. Two of the 7:00 EST ESPN games are caste holes--with LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss and A&M. All meaningless games to boot. Games to settle down for the evening NOT. Even the 8:00 EST UCLA and USC game isn't mouth watering.

In the midst of the better early games at 12:30 EST is what they call the big game as Yale plays Harvard in a season finale. And it will be nationally televised on CNBC. My understanding is the Yale Bowl will have 50,000 fans attending as Yale tries to capture the Ivy League crown something they haven't done for nearly four decades. And RB Zane Dudek will happen to be there as a side note ha. Here is something to munch on. If Dudek tears it up and Yale wins the title will one of the Power 5 schools finally come a calling? Like PENN STATE? The day their coach turns over the reigns to a white RB is the day that I am lost in a dream. Dudek would be eligible to play immediately and as far as performing scholastically for another school it would be like going back to kindergarten for him.

Why are Alabama and Clemson, the reigning national championship playoff teams, allowed to play Mercer and Citadel in the penultimate game of the regular season?

Mercer gets paid 600k to get their ass whooped by Bama! I suppose that's worth showing up for lol.

PS I'm pretty good at geography and the schools around the country, but I have no frigging clue where Mercer is let alone they had a football team.

It's still very early, but Virginia is up on undefeated "Thug U" 14-0, at Miami.

Northwestern just scored to go up on Minnesota, 7-0. Minnesota starting two pale faces on defense today (instead of the usual one).

Dudek off to a slow start (Yale vs Harvard).
Cole Gest for Indiana is about 8-32 at the half.
Nothing yet for Groshek. Go Badgers.
Watching a bit of WVU, Grier hurt his hand.
Not many running back friendly early games......
Coleman Fox with one carry for VT.

He was diving into the end zone and hurt his passing hand.

Bennett Skowronek with the 13-yard TD reception from Thorson to put NU up 32-0 over Minnesota now in the 3rd.

Bad weather conditions in the northern Chicago area.
