Tennessee has been a bottom feeder for a while now and has almost nothing to be excited about as far as the team’s White players. Their best move was to bring back WR Marc Mariani after he was cut by the Bears in an inexplicable move even for the Caste NFL. Mariani was a standout kick returner for the Titans several years ago before gruesomely breaking a leg. Mariani will again return kicks, but if his past usage pattern holds, he’ll be all but ignored as a receiver despite being sure-handed, quick, elusive and intelligent and the team lacking quality at the position.

There are just three projected White starters to begin the 2016 season, all on the offensive line. Left tackle Taylor Lewan and RT Jack Conklin are both young first round draft picks, while center Ben Jones, drafted in the fourth round by Houston, is very capable.

Brian Schwenke is the backup center, while Dennis Kelly (acquired after the Titans gave up on last year’s second round draft pick, WR Dorial Green-Beckham), can play guard and tackle.

Matt Cassel and Alex Tanney are the second and third string QBs.

Anthony Fasano, Phillip Supernaw, and recently acquired Jace Amaro, a Mexican with a lot of Euro ancestry who bombed with the Jets, are the team’s tight ends behind black starter Delanie Walker.

Tackle Karl Klug from Iowa is the only White defensive player on the team. Now entering his 6th NFL season, Klug has always been very productive when he plays and should have been a career starter but remains a backup.

WR Ben Roberts made the practice squad. Like Mariani, Roberts attended Montana. Tackle Tyler Marz from Wisconsin is the only other White player on the practice squad.

White Starters:
LT Taylor Lewan
C Ben Jones
RT Jack Conklin

Total number of White players on 53 man roster: 15

Grade: F+
