I like how they keep pointing out that Hogan was a lacrosse player at Penn State, since the "talent evaluators" decided he wasn't good enough to be a major college WR.
And the Pats even have one of the best defenses in the league, and they have barely been able to slow down Pittsburgh at all.
Patriots need to get more pressure on Big Ben, otherwise it's going to be a close game. He's getting tons of time to throw and is dinking and dunking down the field as New England focuses on shutting down Antonio Brown.
Hogan for 30+ yards!!! He has 180 yards and is owning this team. Blount for the TD. Pats have a little breathing room but way too early to get comfortable.
One of the compliments Brady is often given by the media is that he's able to have a lot of success with "nobody"(read white) receivers. The great irony here is that he probably would be nowhere near as successful without all of those white recievers
Yet no other team will copy what makes them so successful. What a commentary on how entrenched the Caste System is, and the cowardice of decision makers in football from the peewee level on up.
NE's defense gets credit in one important area, and that's redzone defense. You can move the ball on them, but they do shut it down once the opponent gets inside the 20. They managed to stop PIT twice inside the 5, it does help that Bell got hurt, but still. We're almost there, no mistakes, no prevent defense, and run out the clock. This NE offense is what we're used to seeing, I knew they wouldn't have another subpar outing.
I hope they keep their foot on the pedal. They should put up at least 40 and give the Crawfords a taste of their own medicine
I love how all of NE's white players (Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Hogan, etc) all have an attitude. They always get in the faces of the negro defenders and mix it up and let them know who's boss. It's great to see!
Pats are more than just the brilliant Brady. Belichick may be the most meticulous master of this business at present. The whole game is a confrontation between weaknesses and strengths, and Belicheck is constantly putting every and any strength his team has against his opponent's weaknesses - a remarkable mind.
Should be a helluva Super Bowl matchup, at least on paper. Atlanta has quietly been getting stronger by the week and has a very potent offense. Can't wait to see New England and Brady and Belichick win it for a fifth time!
Steelers CB #31 Cockrell is a PUNK!....Dude won't shut his mouth w continuous smack talk to Edelman....last week Kelce got fined $9500 for pushing him into the ground..probably well worth it for him CONGRATS Chris Hogan! Knew you had it in you or wouldn't have started a Topic a few years back...a flicker of hope was all that was needed from back-up QB Kyle Orton; showed you were plenty capable at Buffalo..... Where your coach makes back-handed compliment about """not looking the part""""..but sticking around on 53 man roster...THANK YOU for letting him get away...the Patriots gladly oblige Hogan 9-180-2 Edelman 8-118-1...... MOST by a Duo!
Just saw this stat on screen, Hogan and Edelman combined 298 yards receiving is most ever by a duo in a conference championship game, AFC or NFC! Take that caste system!
Over 300 yards between just 2 receivers (Edelman and Hogan). Those Pittsburgh dummies on defense couldn't figure out who he is likely to throw to? OFG, what a league?!
