Can it be worse than 2014's?

Can there be fewer whites drafted than 2014's sad total of 52? (I'm not counting some "borderline" players as white).

Will it be the year the total number of whites drops below the magic number of 50?

The coverage will be alot more annoying and the black quarterback hype from the media is going to be over the top. I haven't done much investigating into next year's draft class but it will probably be status quo.

You have Petty and Hogan from Baylor and Stanford at QB. Sorry to depress but the mock drafts are very black that i have seen in other positions.

I didn't want to get started on the 2015 draft but since a thread has been created I will throw some thoughts out there. Right now the QB position does look pretty bad with 2 black quarterbacks and Mariota everyone's consensus top picks at the position. Don has pointed out time and again not to put the cart ahead of the horse when it comes to the black quarterback push. This time last year Boyd, Thomas, Bridgewater, Morris and even Keith Price were being touted as either first round picks or legitimate pro prospects. Fast forward to the drafted - Bridgewater everyone's consensus number one pick falls to 32, Thomas was a reach for Arizona in the 4th and will not pan out, Boyd is a 6th round pick stuck behind two other black quarterbacks in a defunct organization and Morris/Price were not drafted.

Most people also had no idea who Bortles or Jimmy Garrapolo were last year at this time as well so who knows what talented white QBs will rise to the top over the course of the football season. A lot of teams also drafted insurance policies this year at the QB position.

The best senior QBs at this point for next year are:
Sean Mannion
Bryce Petty
Kevin Hogan
Bo Wallace
Shane Carden

Dylan Thompson is a sleeper - he has the prototypical size and arm strength so if he has a good year for South Carolina that could move him up draft boards.

and here is a list of some white seniors at different positions to keep an eye on. They are all draftable prospects:

O-LINE
Hroniss Grasu - C Oregon
Reese Dismukes - C Auburn
David Andrews C UGA
B.J. Finney C K State
Brandon Scherff OT Iowa
Eric Lefeld OT Cincinatti
Sean Hicket OT Syracuse
Jake Fisher OT Oregon
Austin Shepherd OT Alabama

DLINE
Henry Anderson Stanford DE
Anthony Chikcillo Miami DE
Brock Hekking Nevada DE
Jordan Allen Transfer to AZ St DE
Tracis Raciti SJSU DT
Kyle Baublitz PSU DT
Joel Hale OSU DT

LB
Bryce Hager Baylor
Kelby Brown Duke
Aj Tarpley Stanford
Zach Vigil Utah State

OLB
Jake Ryan Michigan
Mike Hull PSU
Blake Lueders Stanford

Safety
Brian Blechen Utah
Ray Vinopal Pitt

TE
Nick O'Leary FSU
Ben Koyack Notre Dame
Jeff Heurman OSU
Blake Bell Oklahoma
Connor Hamlett Oregon St

WR
Matt Miller Boise St.
Jaxon Shipley Texas

RB
Zach Zwinak
Mark Weisman

That's a good list of players to look out for and work on throughout the college season, great work Leonardfan lets hope they all play well.

In another thread. I mentioned how Black QB draft stocks are artificially boosted by the Media. I checked out 2015 mock draft just to prove my point. Jameis Winston and Brett Hundley are 1st round picks.

Yep, all of the pundits have black quarterbacks as the "top picks" in next year's draft. We saw how well that worked out for them this year, I expect similar afflete failure for 2015. Heck, Jameis (another stupid black name) will probably be arrested five times before then.:afro:

I do not believe Hundley received a first round grade, which is why he stayed in college. He doesn't impress me much, just another black quarterback being hyped by the media. UCLA's best offensive player last year was that LB that also played RB so what does that say for Hundley. I think the spread offense craze has passed to be honest, the NFL is back to placing the most importance on how QBs play from the pocket.

The PAC 12 has some good white QBs that can hopefully get a 1st boost this season - Mannion, Hogan and Kelly from AZ St. are all great QBs that are draft eligible next year. Kelly is actually a better dual threat QB than Hundley. Also, there maybe a QB that makes another Bortles like rise from obscurity.

Both Mariota and Hundlley struggled against Stanford, which had one of the best defenses in the country last year.

Jeff Driskel is one QB that can really improve his stock. I hope Florida has done something to address their offensive scheme.

Couple of Big10 MLBs to keep an eye on. These guys are real blue collar, lunch pail type of guys ;).

1 NUs Collin Ellis. 6'2 230 lb native of Louisiana started last year at OLB and recorded 2 pick sixes. This year hell man the middle for the Wildcats.

2. PSUs Mike Hull 6'0 227lbs has been waiting patiently behind Mauti and Carson hes next up,ready for a big Sr year.

3. UWs Derek Landisch 6'0 230 Like Hull he's had decent production when on the field and is looking to expand his role as a senior leader now that Borland's a niner!

I will update to add a few more guys once I find out starters for rest of big ten teams.

I found a couple of lesser known white players listed as possible 2nd rounders on a 2015 mock draft at walterfootball. OT Spencer Drago of Baylor and LB Kyler Fackrell of Utah State.

RB-Cam McDaniel (5'-10" 207) led Notre Dame in rushing w 705 yards amongst the trio of RB's in the rotation used...the Irish were 7-0 in games where he lead the team in rushing...yet in 2014 he may not be listed on the 2-deep? Maybe he can sneak his way onto a 53-man roster in the NFL! He just produces when called upon...another Rex Burkhead?

RB-Zac Laskey 6'-1" 217 (Georgia Tech) should be another player to watch....

Weisman & Zwinak are listed as Fullbacks...

With all of the mediocre DB's drafted in the middle of the 14' Draft...where 5'-10" 185 4.6 players were picked(WHY was Sorenson not taken again?)...it really should not be a stretch to see ALL of these players selected in 15'....along w Ray Venopal & Brian Blechen/injuries? (already mentioned)

Jared Tevis- Arizona...tremendous instincts; tough...another Pat Tillman?
Matt Hermanson- Montana......the next Grizzlies defender to land a spot in the NFL?
Austin Collinsworth-Notre Dame...has the bloodlines
Craig Bills- BYU....6'-1" 205...heavy hitter! Elbow healed?
Justin Halley- Florida International....6'-2" 200...ball-hawk w 7 career INT's
John Lowdermilk- Iowa...6'-2" 2o7...should have had Pick Six in Bowl Game
Caleb Schaffitzel _ Missouri St....6'-0" 215...FCS Strong Safety will knock your head off

WR's
Matt Miller -Boise St...can join Nelson, Cooper, Decker..with size/speed ratio
Jaxon Shipley-Texas...has the bloodlines
J.J. Worton-UCF....CFB Play of the Year w Sick one-handed catch!
Jordan Taylor-Rice...6'-4"+ 210 with that "Sneaky Speed"
Michael Bennett- Georgia...hopefully recovered from injury

QB Brian Bennett-SE Louisiana (Oregon transfer) could be one to watch

at the running back position, perhaps the most underrated player in the nation is South Dakota State's Zach Zenner. you can read more about his ability in this thread: Zach Zenner. he is explosive (averaged 42.8 yards on his 13 scoring runs in 2012 and over 20 yards-per on his 25 scoring plays in 2013), productive (back-to-back seasons with over 2,000 yards rushing while averaging 6.2 yards-per-carry), and possesses ideal size (6-feet, 220-pounds). but … wait for it … he is listed by NFLDraftScout as a fullback.

Wow Jimmy C...How times flies! Zach Zenner is already a Senior...for some reason thought he was still a junior...that's what I get for posting late at night! ZZ's measurables look similar to Mark Ingram(4.6)...but you never heard him being a stinking Fullback! DOUBLE-STANDARD!! What a JOKE! I need to get on the phone! This dude has the FCS Record for multiple 2,000+ yard rushing seasons...that's NOT a fullback! To the back of the bus white boy!

Speaking of flying...tell me HOW this looks like a Fullback?? This 99 yard TD run a few years back vs FBS/Big 12 Kansas....

OLB-Kyler Fackrell(mentioned above) has been nicknamed the "Freak"...check out this raw athleticism of this 99 yard Pick Six at 6'-5" 245!

Mentioned above...DT-Travis Raciti 6'-5" 290 San Jose St is another force destined to land on an NFL squad! & DT Henry Anderson-Stanford

Is Zach Zenner considering the NFL? Hawkeye2 posted in the Zach Zenner thread that he has no interest in the NFL and will continue to pursue a Phd after his collegiate career is over.

There will be plenty of sumo OL and DL that will be hyped up accordingly throughout this year. Just by glancing through draftdaddy a lot of the top OL prospects listed especially at Guard are black players from power conferences.. That along with the hyping of Hundley and Mariotta Espn should be pretty unbearable to watch.. Hell it already is unbearable to watch lol.

I sure hope he does. 2 straight 2,000 yard seasons screams talent. But with the NFLs track record he has to know it's an uphill battle to get the respect he deserves.

It doesn't hurt to keep one's options open.

A good plan for Zenner would be to adopt a wait and see policy. Go through the pre-draft process and see how much he could make at a pro career before deciding.

Maybe he will be drafted in a high round the way Toby Gerhart was.

This sounds like a good plan.

I think it'd be cool if anyone else is.interested please throw out some names! Team effort, I'm sick.of reading mainstream reports on top prospects. All of those writers focus on the same group of guys. Time we start one for our underdogs!
