Cincinatti vs. Memphis kicks off week 4 in college football. Gunner Kiel was injured past week and may not play tonight. Behemoth Memphis Qb Paxton Lynch has become one of the best kept secrets in college football. I was hoping for a shootout between two very good qbs but at the very least Lynch should be fun to watch if Kiel sits out.

Too bad about Kiel glad after bouncing around he's found a home in Cincy. Keep an eye out for Memphis OLB Jackson Dillon. 6'6 235 tall lanky and athletic.

WR Max Morrison with the 40 yard TD catch...having a big game tonight! 7-127-1 early in 4th qtr...leading 39-38!

Gunner Keil was knocked out in the 1st half of the game with a nasty hit...scary for awhile...seems he will be OK...back-up Hayden Moore has been very impressive slinging the rock! 427 yards passing ....3 TD's

Paxton Lynch has some good wheels for a 6'-7" 245 QB...leads Memphis with 51 yards rushing + 316 yards passing!

Former walk on Alan Cross is now Memphis' best TE all-time for TD catches.

Both QBs having good games it's a shootout. Paxton Lynch only had 2 offers Memphis initially and UCF late what lunacy! A 6'7 dual threat QB!!!

Yep. It's a shame Kiel went down with an injury but Hayden Moore played well in relief. I figured munchie Lego was on his 19th year of eligibility and still the back up qb.

Lynch has been great this year. His draft stock should continue to rise.

Lynch is an awesome QB and should certainly have a future in the pros.

Hopefully Hogan, McCaffrey, and Stanford can have a big win against the horrible Oregon St today.

Tailback Christian McCaffrey off to a nice start early 2nd qtr (9 carries/67 yards)....leaped over defender on very first run! Great cutting ability & burst(even running out of the Wildcat formation)....unlike last week..these announcers really like him...(how could they not his talent is undeniable)...we need to write letters to who ever announced last weeks Stanford /USC game...unacceptable!

Oregon State's Ryan Nall (listed at TE) now playing RB(bio says he can do both) 6'-2" 255.....3 carries 23 yards & TD...

Hybrid (like a WR) Austin Hooper looks like another Future NFL Stanford TE...42 yard TD catch ...too athletic for LBers to cover & DB's too small...

WR Max Morrison finished with 9-162-2....

6'-7" Paxton Lynch should have the NFL's attention

you beat me to it, TwentyTwo.

Christian McCaffrey is an outstanding talent for the Cardinal.

on the other side of the ball, redshirt freshman "tight end" Ryan Nall carried the ball on 3 consecutive plays (for 23 yards), resulting in a 4-yard touchdown. it's probably not a surprise to anyone here that Nall, who as TwentyTwo mentioned is officially listed as a tight end, was an amazing, record-setting player at tailback in high school. he was the Oregon state High School PoY as a senior, as well. "somehow," though, he wasn't highly recruited, and his role has "somehow" been moved to tight end/h-back.

"weird," huh?

*************************

in a lopsided thrashing, Boise State has done pretty much anything they've wanted to against Virginia.

wideout Thomas Sperbeck currently has 5 catches for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a spectacular 30-yard catch with the defensive back draped all over him. his other score was a 64-yard catch and run, where he left the cornerback grasping for air then left him in the dust.

the Boise tight ends have also been impressive. Jake Roh has 5 catches for 48 yards, and Holden Huff had an impressive 47-yard catch-and-run.

defensively, the Broncos have been led by their two White linebackers and White defensive end.

the broadcast crew of the Stanford game just put up a graphic showing that Christian McCaffrey leads the Pac-12 in all-purpose yardage, with nearly 200 yards per game. impressive work for an "overachieving gym rat" who "isn't very talented."

McCaffrey has over 80 yards rushing and a long catch-and-run already in the first half.

Boise State's true Freshman QB, Brett Rypien, son of former NFL QB Mark Rypien, looked like a veteran tonight, torching Virginia's all-coal defensive backfield, going 24/35 for 321 yards with 3 TD's and 0 INT's in a night game at Virginia.

The days may be numbered for Virginia's AA head coach.

I'm watching the Stanford/Oregon State game, and happened to come across a thread on the game on a Nebraska board (since Riley was OSU's old coach). One of the comments I saw was: "I hope Riley can recruit some of those good-looking Polynesians that are playing for Oregon State right now."

First off, why would Nebraska need poly players?? They're a Mid West team with no "ties" to poly recruiting grounds. 2nd, those "amazing, good-looking polys" are currently getting their asses handed to them by Stanford 35-17. Yeah, they look like they're really helping the Beaver out. Screw the Beavers. I hope they go winless in Pac-12 play.

Stanford (as you guys have mentioned) has been looking great tonight.

206 yards on 30 carries for McCaffrey, plus a 38-yard catch, and 58 yards on 2 kick returns. Kid's a star!

Very nice win for the Cardinal.

Yeah, the "DNA" of Stanford's team is showing to be superior to the "DNA" of Oregon State's, much to the chagrin of Oregon State's Head Cuck, Gary Andersen, I'm sure. McCaffrey with 206 yards on 30 carries along with 38 yards receiving. Too bad he set up all of the rushing TD's for the affletes. He's got to finish some of those himself.

Also, if those Poly's (read: Asian negros) are so great, why wasn't Hawaii winning championships all those years?

Stanford has looked very good since their loss to Northwestern, who now looks like they were a very much underrated team.

Also, Fox Sports announcers were far superior and more fair than ABC's. Very well-called game.

206 rushing yards and 303 total yards for Christian McCaffery.

Christian McCaffrey was amazing tonight. The announcers were also very high when talking about the kid and he deserves all of the accolades. He has even more talented than Toby Gerhart in my honest opinion. Yes I know he is not a power runner but the kid does everything. He is electric. He will continue to get stronger as he is only a sophmore but damn can this kid fly. He is very fast and way more elusive than the scouts or media will give him credit for.

Hope he can stay healthy. He will have to carry this team. He is he m.v.p on Stanford. Even more important than the qb in my opinion. What a game. So pumped up right now.

A little early but if Stanford can keep winning and McCaffrey has games like last night yes he should be in the running for the big H.
Looks like a 10 year pro to me . We need more starting white tailbacks in big college programs. This gives them a better chance of playing in the NFL.

I never expected Mcaffrey to get 30 carries in a game - I figured he would be a 15 carry/5 reception type player. I am glad he got those 30 carries - he really took the pressure off the injured Hogan. It was icing on the cake that he ran all over the caste ****** andersen's black poly defense.

Couldn't agree more I find a lot of joy watching Andersen struggle !

not trying to nit pick, but Brett is actually Mark Rypien's nephew.

the rest of your post is spot on.

defensively, Boise State held Virginia to 40 yards rushing on 33 attempts and forced 5 turnovers. it was a COMPLETELY dominant performance, led by junior linebacker Ben Weaver's 9 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.

*********************

in the Stanford game, McCaffrey looked to be the best player on the field. the only thing he's missing this year is his first rushing touchdown. he's a big time talent.

BYU is getting worked 28-0. Jet lag and a brutal schedule are taking a toll on the Cougars.
