There should be no comparison between drafting a "great" quarterback vs a "great" defensive end. Even if Clowney had 30 sacks last year and was basically the next Bruce Smith and Reggie White combined, I'd still take Manziel or Bortles. A franchise quarterback is by far more valuable. Other than being the most important player on the field, a QB can play for 15 years or more. A DE you'll be lucky to get 10 at a high level. The only reason a team should take a DE over a QB (both top prospects of course) is if that team is already set at QB. None of top 5, including the Rams, can really say that. The Texans shouldn't even be considering that Clown at #1.
Yes a defensive end can fall off the map quickly due to injuries. Look at what happened to Jevon Kearse. A franchise qb even if his legs go as long as his arm is fine he can still win ball games for you. A defensive end chosen over a top qb prospect just means that a team in need of a top qb doesn't feel that the top prospects are truly elite talents.

The Texans could draft Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney only had 3 sacks last year but is said to have a huge "upside." He's considered a bit of a risk.

Manziel was very productive last year. Is he more of a risk than Clowney?

The smart move would be to take Manziel with the number 1 pick.

I would love Manziel to go one overall to Texans! Ideally you would then see the Rams take Matthews and then Jacksonville take Bortles. I don't know who that would leave the Browns to take my guess would be Watkins not that i would take him that high and then Oakland take Derek Carr at 5.

That would probably be our best hope for the draft on May 8th. Falcons will take Clowney I have no doubt at 6 if he is still there to replace Bierman who got injured and has now lost his job, funny how the white guy loses his job when injured where as the white guy is often just filling in till the 'superior' athlete comes back in!

Extra Point, i don't see Manziel going past the Browns fingered crossed and in the worst case the Vikings at 8!

You never know what will happen but based on merit Manziel should go in the top ten.

Quarterback needy teams such as Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland and Minnesota would be wise to snap him up.

Bortles looks like a good prospect too.

It will be interesting to see where Manziel goes.

On another subject it will be interesting to see if Lovie Smith, Tampa's head coach, takes Bridgewater at 7 to replace Mike Glennon.

The leftists never refer to a white man as a man. They call them boys, guys or males. Unfortunately they've been successful in getting a lot of people to go along with the program, sometimes white men themselves.

Why would a grown, adult white man refer to himself as a boy?

Especially since referring to an adult black male as a "boy" is considered a Category 5 sin in this cultural Marxist-ruled world, as bad as calling him the N-word.

Somehow, suddenly, Greg Robinson, a tackle who is a good run blocker but needs work pass blocking is the number 1 prospect at left tackle on everybody's list.

Jake Matthews, who excels at both run blocking and pass blocking, is now rated the second best left tackle in the draft.

The reasons given as to why Robinson is supposedly a better prospect than Matthews, even though he doesn't play as well? Athleticism and upside.

The claim of athletic superiority is questionable. Robinson does better in most drills like the 40 yard dash but Matthews is significantly better in drills measuring quickness and agility, which are very important for an offensive tackle.

All of a sudden Robinson is on a list of "the four elite prospects" in the draft and Matthews isn't. Who made up and propagated this list?

It's also being suggested that if the Rams draft Matthews at 2 it's because Rams head coach Jeff Fisher also coached Matthews's father Clay Matthews. It couldn't be because Matthews is a better prospect, it must be because of a conspiracy of white men. After all, all black males are more athletic than all white men, therefore picking a white athlete over a black athlete must be racism.

The black supremacist, anti-white agenda is pretty clear here.

Sailors a CB which is news to me ran a 4.45 on pro day . I watched a lot of Georgia football this year and can't recall him playing on D. There was safety Connor Norman who started a few games but Sailors?. Another one of those hidden white speedsters which drives me crazy.

Sailors played a bit of mop up duty, but was really just a special teams player. Isn't it amazing how a guy who lacks speed can be the first one down on kick coverage every single time, then bust out a 4.45 for the scouts?

The Georgia DWFs always lament how these walkons (at least 80% of them are white) get to play special teams. The fact is that these are college level players that Georgia gets without having to use scholarships. Guys like Blake Sailors, Rhett McGowan, Conner Norman, and Merritt Hall mostly got ZERO offers. Good enough for UGA, but not Georgia Southern? Even when black walkons break through, the DWFs never stop to consider that maybe, just maybe, the recruiting sites aren't exactly shooting straight with them.

Manziel seems primed for a fall deep into the first round as Rodgers did in 2005. However, it wouldn't shock me if he were selected by Tampa Bay, as their new management doesn't seem to like Mike Glennon at all, which is unfortunate. Tampa Bay does need to sell tickets and Manziel would certainly do just that for the franchise.

On another subject it will be interesting to see if Lovie Smith, Tampa's head coach, takes Bridgewater at 7 to replace Mike Glennon.

Maybe, but Smith has never shown a preference for black QBs. He could have easily brought in Vick but opted for McCown instead.

Any walk on that contributes for a top ten program could be on scholarship for perennial door mats like Rice or in the MAC Temple. Sometimes the players don't want to leave their home town or feel that they really don't have a potential to play on Sundays.

As I stated in another thread, Bridgewater has not one outstanding attribute. A few scouts and executives seem to agree with me.

We've reached out to many teams about Bridgewater, and all have been down on him. Perhaps the most glaring response we've heard came from an executive with an NFC playoff team that has no need for a starting quarterback. They have their franchise signal-caller, but they could use a reserve, so we asked this executive his thoughts on some quarterbacks, including Bridgewater.

The NFC executive said that he thought Bridgewater was a "fourth-round guy" and will fall out of the first round. He said that there isn't anything exceptional about Bridgewater's skill set, as he doesn't have an elite arm, size or mobility. Because of that, he felt that Bridgewater is a fourth-round talent.

Another scouting director picking in the top 20 that could consider a quarterback told us that his team never had Bridgewater as a first-round pick. They said he's carried a second-round grade throughout the process. They still have him as a second-round pick after his much-maligned pro day.

Sources from three teams in the top 10 have told us that they have Blake Bortles and Derek Carr graded ahead of Bridgewater. One team also has A.J. McCarron rated ahead of Bridgewater.

They'll Be Sorry

Any of these quarterback needy teams that pass on Manziel will be sorry. He has a great chance of being a franchise quarterback.

Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Oakland and Minnesota all need a quarterback. If Manziel's available when they pick they should grab him.

People seem to forgot that he's only a sophomore and will only get better. He has tremendous upside.

Not surprising, big programs have these types every year it seems. LSU had a db named Daniel Graff who ran a 10.48 100 meter dash in high school, listed at safety but more corner size at 6'0 180. Ran a 4.32. A walk on who earned a scholarship, never got to do more than play special teams. No offers out of high school, except a partial track scholarship to ULL, then Katrina hit his home and he wound up at LSU.

There was also Steve Korte who was like 6'0 230 that ran a 4.3, listed as a fullback/rb, but never saw the field from what I recall, came out the same time Jacob Hester did. Couldn't have two big White guys running the ball, one with blazing speed. Korte probably only got the opportunity to be on the team because his dad is somewhat famous (college, nfl, now broadcaster). Had a few carries but mainly special teams. They started bulking him up and putting him in the fullback role in high school his senior year, where he had 628 yards rushing on 98 carries 6 tds, 16 catches for 243 yards, junior year when used more as a traditional halfback 1234 yards 11.3 ypc and 19 tds.

That's funny...I usually refer to 'em as "colored boy(s)"...IF I'm feeling generous. ;-)

Greg Robinson will be average at best at the next level. He played in the Gus Malzahn offhense this season which really does not translate to the NFL. Matthews, Martin and Lewan are all better than him. The past 6 or 7 years in the draft the best tackles seem all be white. If Robinson does get drafted second overall he will end up like the huge bust Jason Smith out of Baylor or floppy-man tit andre smith out of Alabama who was drafted 8 overall but has failed to be anything better than mediocre.

I remember speaking on the phone with Louisiana's big time high school football recruiting guru, I can't remember his name, maybe you know who I'm talking about dwid. He said there were 3 or 4 white RB's in Louisiana alone that should be D-1 type backs, 5'11-6'0 200lbs., 4.5 40, but that they would never get D-1 scholarships, just wasn't going to happen. I asked him so how did Hester make it, but forgot what he said, something to the fact he was lucky.

He said the same thing about Rex Burkhead. Burkhead had only 1 D-1 AA offer from N. Texas and then Pellini got the job at Nebraska and offered Burkhead, just luck or we may never have heard about him either.

Yes, Matthews, Martin and Lewan are all better prospects than Robinson, especially at left tackle.

The MSM describes Robinson's combine workout as "phenomenal." It was no such thing. Overall it was good but not great.

Robinson did not do well in the 3 cone or 20 yard short shuttle. He does not have great quickness or agility.

Robinson looks like a right tackle at the next level. He's a good run blocker but will probably never be a great pass blocker. Is this a guy you'd want to take high in the draft?

If a team passes over Matthews for Robinson it's making a mistake.

Pumping up black athletes over white athletes is part of the black supremacist / anti-white agenda.

Extra point i totally agree. The media and jock sniffing dwfs do their best every year to pump up overrated blacks. The whole draft process is the best illustration of the caste system in action.

it will be interesting if their is any deviation in the percentage of white players drafted this year due to extra 2 weeks teams have before the draft. Perhaps it has given some white players a little bit more of a window to be "discovered" but I won't hold my breath. The baseline for the % of white players drafted is 25% and I doubt their will be much deviation this year.

a couple of things should stand out regarding this story.

1) how is it possible that a (White) walk-on is the fastest player on Georgia's football team? i thought all those scholarship affletes were the most affletically affletic affletes in the world … at least that's what the media types and DWF fan boys keep telling me.

2) i thought the best athletes play? obviously, this wasn't the case for UGA, considering the fastest player on the team barely saw the field. although when he did, he was a standout.

3) the fastest player for Georgia, a powerful team in the "speed freak" SEC, "only" ran a 4.45 in the 40. and no one else on the team was even close! the next fastest player who ran at their Pro Day was 4.58. where are all those supposed 4.2 and 4.3 affletes that we are constantly regaled about? hell, i thought all those affletes at the skill positions ran sub-4.4s … *smirk*

sadly, none of these perspectives will be addressed at all by the so-called "reporters" who cover these sports.

tailback Kyle Harbridge of St. Francis (PA) has been mentioned before, but i wanted to mention him once again, before his name slips down the memory hole. per this link: http://northeastconference.org/news/2014/4/8/FB_Harbridge_DeMedal_ProDays_SFU_14.aspx , at his Pro Day, Harbridge ran a a 4.42 40-yard dash while bench-pressing 225 pounds 22 times.

NFL Draft Scout "somehow" turns that time into a 4.52 (as seen here), although they get his bench reps and other numbers correct. "strange" that his speed isn't accurately listed AND they list him at wide receiver, a position he's never played. "weird," huh?

i don't think we've mentioned Jakob DeMedal, a safety (of course) and teammate of Harbridge at St. Francis (PA), who also posted blazing times in speed and agility drills and big strength numbers. DeMedal clocked a 4.44 40-yard dash with a 38.5-inch vertical jump and 23 reps on the bench press (see the first link above). yet again, NFL Draft Scout posts a slower number (albeit not too much slower) on their profile of DeMedal.

one wonders, if the best players play, and coaches actually will do anything and go anywhere to recruit speed, how these two fleet-footed footballers ended up at tiny St. Francis …

DeMedal especially, at 6-foot-1 and over 200-pounds, is an eye-popping physical specimen and completely dominated at every level he's played. yet he's virtually invisible in the football world.

why weren't these two gifted athletes playing big time Division One football? oh, yeah. they both possess that damn skin condition that prevents them from being physically gifted.

The mainstream sports media continues to hype offensive tackle Greg Robinson as some sort of unbelievable athletic marvel, far more athletic than white tackles Matthews and Lewan and even though he can't pass block he has "upside."

I'd say Robinson and Matthews tested out about even athletically. Robinson was pedestrian in the short shuttle and the 3 cone while Matthews was excellent. Lewan tested out better than both of them.

Robinson looks like a right tackle at the next level. Any team wanting a left tackle should take Matthews.

Right tackle, maybe. Although I can see the endless (and predictable) hype job for Robinson that is undeserved, he's not a bad player, just not nearly as good as the pundits are trying to tell you. I'm not a fan of sumo lineman at all, but if I was a coach and had this guy on my team, I think he would make a much better guard than tackle. He has good size and good straight-line speed to be a good pulling guard. But is a relatively one-dimensional player like that worth a first-round pick? No, he's more like a late 2nd round to 4th round pick by merits.

It's difficult to like even black players who are genuinely good because every time one is, he gets hyped up by the Caste media as if he's TEH GREATEST EVAH instead of receiving praise in proportion to his true abilities. Their attempt to make us like black athletes is backfiring.

The detestable Merril Hoge just did a scathing critique of my avatar "hero" Jadeveon Clowney. Think what you want about Hoge, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut here and there, a broken clock is right twice a day, etc........

Add another analyst to the list that isn't very high on the likes of South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney.

ESPN's Merril Hoge actually took the Clowney-bashing a little further than most, calling him and "atrocious" football player."You look at him as a fundamental football player when you talk about feet, hip and hands, like we watch Khlail Mack, he's actually atrocious,â€￾ Hoge said, via Will Brinson of CBS Sports. “Clowney as a football player is not very good. Amazing athlete. Don't get confused by being an athlete and being a good football player. Not a very good football player."
"[Clowney] doesn't play with his feet, hip and hands like Khalil Mack. Gets controlled, trucked a lot," Hoge said. "The second he tries to swim move you he's neutralized if you get inside his pads which is easy because he plays so high."
Suffice to say, Hoge doesn't feel Clowney is a number one pick by any stretch of the imagination. "Jadeveon Clowney does not play very smart as a football player. He has a long learning curve to be successful in the NFL," Hoge went on. "I would take Mack in a heartbeat over Clowney in the first round, first pick, all day."
