Jason Sehorn thinks 5th round draft pick Cooper Taylor, who is big and fast and freakishly athletic, should stay at safety. Sehorn is Taylor's hero, but he probably has a better chance of playing and eventually starting if he switches to linebacker, where the Giants have been weak for a while now.

He is too much of a physical freak to waste away at linebacker, plus he would have to add some bulk, he won't be able to shed blockers at 228. He has the ability to play cornerback, he would be better than Brandon Browner, who is 6'4 220. I guess they could use him in a hybrid S/LB role in nickel and dime situations, but it would be best for him to get a shot at safety.

wow, I was watching NFL AM yesterday, and its like the guy covering the Giants stole a direct post I had on that link, about how he should be a safety and people just think of him as a linebacker is because of his size and the fact that he is White. Of course its the obvious just surprised to hear some common sense on NFL Network. Then he talked about his elite athleticism and how Jason Sehorn was lobbying for him, saying at least let him fail at the position before moving him to linebacker, but didn't get the impression that they expected him not to make it as a safety. Of course his best shot for this year is a nickelback. Considering teams are using nickel and dime packages just as much as their base packages, sometimes more, its not a bad situation.

It looks the Giants are looking to sign a running back and they are bringing in a guy that they ran out of town and Willis McGahee. Looks like Hillis may be coming to the Giants. I hope he gets a shot & makes the most of it.
