I will cheer for England also. They still should have quite a few white guys. I wish they had more whites.5-7 white startes depending on who plays goal and who the other forward is.That is still too many blacks for the relative small population of black players and some of them are mixed race actually.I don't know if that is a black guy stealing a white women though.

The white teams with the best chance to win the World Cup are :
1. Spain (100% white )2. Italy (100% white)and 3. Germany . Argentina is always a contender but has Maradonna as coach which hurts their chances.Edited by: jwhite96

Corrections to my post:

The hispanic/white category for mexico is complete nonsense and i dont know why i wrote is as hispanic is not a race but a collective name for peoples from spanish speaking countries, irrespective of race. Mexico has a majority (60%) mestizo population (mixed white and Armeridian(native)), with a white minority of 9%. The team however looks like a mix between mestizo and whites.

Honduras looks like mainly mestizo with a few blacks.

Paraguay also has a mestizo majority and the team looks like a mix of mestizo and whites.

The other south american qualifiers - Chile, Uruguay and Argentina have majority white populations (i guess there were few natives there when the settlers came and hence the European blood remained pure.)

forgot to mention Brazil above - a fairly even mix of mestizo, white and black.

I also forgot Portugal - it goes in the 3 or more non white but still majority white category.

So ill make the list again for clarity:

Group A - Teams to support:

Denmark, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany, New zealand, Australia, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay.

Group B - Teams to not support:

Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory coast, South Africa, Ghana, France.

Group C - Teams to support if they are playing against a team in Group B but not to support if they are playing against a team in Group A:

USA, Honduras, Netherlands, England, Paraguay, Brazil, Portugal

Group D - Teams to support or not support depending on your preferences:

Japan, North and South Korea, Algeria.

Personally I am SAD and UNHAPPY that Russian and Ukraine both didnt make it on the last night.

Is England in, I hope NOT. France is a NO-NO.

It's either Spain, Italy, or Germany who'll win it!

Argentina might, unless Maradonna screws things up.

I don't see an Asian team like Japan or South Korea winning it, though they are generally the best from Asia, and are highly competitive.

I looked up Paraguay and almost none of their players play in Paraquay. We need to go back to players playing in their own country and we also have to cut off immigration. Then we won't have teams like France and England.

If only political parties like the BNP (British National Party) had their way, immigration would really stop. Edited by: j41181

I would love to see Spain win the World Cup. An all White team, and they have never won it before, despite Spain having one of the top three leagues (along with the Premier League and Serie A) and 2 of the worlds biggest clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
I'd be happy to see Italy repeat as Champions as well. Sad to see that Deutschland has a schwarzer on it. As for Argentina, how White are they? I am not that familiar with the current roster. I know Argentina is a White country, but they have certainly had a fair amount of mesitzo and not quite White looking players. Obviously their biggest star was/is the current manager, the mestizo Maradona.
As for England, well, I have some strong mixed feelings. Part of me hopes they crash out in the first round, or maybe lose on penalties in the quarter-finals. :)
I'm torn because I love England, they gave football/soccer to the world, but the current "English" side is an insult to the 1966 World Champions.
By the way, I am new here, and this is my first post. This looks like a really good forum. Cheers!

South Africa not ready to host World Cup. FIFA getting nervous.

I remember Europeans being called racists for saying South Africa wasn't ready in time for the 2006 WC, so it was held in Germany to give South Africa another 4 years to prepare. They're still not ready. I can't say I'm surprised.

The Argentinian team is mostly if not all white. There are few mesitzos in Argentina as a whole (Just a small population who mainly live in the north of the country near Bolivia). There are almost no blacks in Argentina.

The current senior English team is still mainly-ish white. At the world cup there will probably be 1 black starter (Heskey), and about 3 mixed race (Ferdinand, James, Johnson). However, for some reason many of the youngsters coming through are black or mixed.

Matra1, here's an excerpt from that link:

"Fifa has become used to hitting back at allegations that South Africa is not up to the job of hosting the World Cup.

But this is the first time that an official from football's
governing body has admitted in such stark terms that not everything is
going to plan.

Last week Fifa was forced to slash the prices of some unsold VIP
tickets in the hope of selling them to South Africans rather than
overseas fans.

Out of a total of 3 million tickets, 2.3 million have been sold,
raising fears of half empty stadiums at some of the lower profile games.

Fifa has cited the global recession as the main factor deterring
fans from traveling to South Africa rather than concerns about crime.
"

Glad to know that Fifa knows what we think!

Isn't Ashley Cole mixed? Is it good to have all these mixed race people? Also, Aaron Lennon and Walcott are mixed.

Ashley Cole doesnt look likely to be at the World cup.

Good news yesterday - Green seems to be nudging James out for the goalkeeper position. Crouch is putting a lot of pressure on Heskey for that other sticker position, and a lot of people are shouting for Milner to take that as yet up for grabs right wing position.

I think A Cole might make it. He broke it 2-11, so 6-11 would be 4 months recovery. I hope Bridge comes back also. I hope Milner can beat out Walcott ,Lennon and Wright-Phillips. Of course, Beckham will be on the team, but probably not start. I hope Joe Cole is picked also. He had the 2ND best goal is the last World Cup. Interestingly,Wright-Phillips is the only full black midfielder who has a chance to play on the National Team. Lennon and Walcott are mixed. Ahsley Young is the only other midfielder I can think of. The midfield takes the most skill to play it seems to me. Rooney could play midfield if he wanted because he is so skilled. Rooney could be World Player of the Year if he has a good World Cup. He is already leading the Premiership in goals and islaying great in the Champions League. I predicted he would finally start to dominate once Ronaldo left.

Crouch is awkward, but always seems to score. Heskey does nothing but push people out of the way which I guess can be useful.

33% is too much considering that black and mixed might make up 4-5% of the population at most. There are more Indians and Pakistanis is England than blacks.

Still, 16 whites on the English team? Not bad, I was expecting less. If the final roster (23 total?) resembles this (70% white), I suppose England will be on my list of teams to root for, after Germany, Italy, and Spain.

I'm hoping for at least a 75% white team from the US as well.

I think Mexico has whiter soccer team than there general population. It seems like there defenders are almost always White Mexicans who look like Spaniards. Overall their team is mostly Mestizo though.

I was looking at the managers of the Dutch team and out of the first 27 managers through 1974 22 were foreign. 15 of the 22 foreign were British.
