It was great to see both GB and IND win and get into the play-offs, but they didn't look very good doing it. Next week, we have two very big caste match-ups, relatively speaking. GB @ PHI and NYJ @ IND. Both the Packers and Colts have to step up and play a lot better in order to have a chance at victory.
Now, rooting for the Rams to defeat the Blackhawks tonight and get a home game next week, even though NO will most likely beat them.

The Packers have the personnel to keep pressure on Vick, not just because of the guy that is likely to win the defensive MVP but because they have a good blitzing CB in Woodson and Zombo and Hawk are beasts and very underrated.
The biggest problem GB has is their lack of a running game so even though I think they can do it, I still think its a toss up in this game - when you don't have to worry much about the run its easier to shut down the passing game.

Interesting that Lovie kept the Bears starters in for the whole game, almost as if they really wanted the Packers out, rather than worried about someone getting injured. OTOH, on the last drive they really weren't trying to hard to score, IMHO.

Rams are starting a majority White defense (6)
4 White starters on offense, giving them 10 altogether. If they move away from their mostly sumo o-line the Rams can be a team to be reckoned with.

Yeah, Buerline was pretty pathetic...probably reading from a script provided him. I was yelling at him to shut the hell up, but he kept yapping on about how Tebow would probably always be a 50-55% passer and how "only time will tell" if he will be successful there. He's already been successful in only three games and is the best rusher on the team too, not to mention his intangibles. If he also played linebacker for them, maybe they'd be able to tackle someone as well.

, who said the defense was bringing "eight 'people' in the box." Uh, why not say "eight men in the box"since all the defenders are men, not "people."Of course, the word "man" is becoming rarer in general, especially when White men are involved.

It is really fun watching the Rams caste-wise. I haven't seen an NFL team with a majority White defense since I was a kid.

Will Herring ... now there's an athletic White man who has never been given a legit shot at being a starter in the league. he was dynamite as a safety at Auburn, but he's been forced to put on a ton of weight and play linebacker and WSTD ... where he's excelled when given opportunities, which is no surprise.

another good point, Don. it's everywhere, whether it be "people," or other cultural marxist-approved terms such as "guys," "dudes," and (of course) the much-loved "boys," one can't indicate the manhood involved with actual men.
in fact, i can't recall the last time i've heard the word "man" used in reference to a White male ... and certainly not in combination with the word "White." that is very, very telling of what this nation has become.
I dunno, I've heard a lot of pro-football talk where the commentator, specifically radio commentators, say "That guy is a MAN". Since I'm from New England I can specifically remember it being attributed to Logan Mankins probably when he threw Polamalu aside like a rag doll after he tried to twist Brady's head after he scored a TD.
I watch ATH and PTI a lot and I hear a lot of "That guy is a man" in regards to football.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the term would only be used when a big guy made a play - and that probably only includes linemen, some linebackers and maybe a few safeties.
Considering most defenses are a few injuries from being 100% black and the black OL man is becoming more popular it probably isn't used that much to describe white males.
But to be honest, I can't remember a game where a team was stacking the box and an announcer said "There are 8 people in the box". I always hear "8 men in the box". But to be honest I haven't really been keeping an ear out, I will now.

George Carlin was a genius at poking fun at it, but the average American has no clue. I've always been tuned in to the way English has been perverted in service to the ruling class, but few Americans are.

I make it a point to use man/men and woman/women as much as possible in the classroom. Another one of my pet peeves is the use of "guys" in a room full of women or in a room filled with men and women. I like to use y'all in those situations, or ladies and gentlemen in some cases.

there have been soooooo many dropped passes in this Seattle-St. Louis game, that i can't fathom that anyone with a brain thinks these so-called "receivers" are legitimate. if you can't do the most basic of your job requirements, how then are you the "best" person available for said job?
