I'm wondering who will win the starting qb job in Carolina. I'd personally like to see Clausen win so we can so what the rookie is capable of but Matt Moore is pretty good as well.

Hopefully the Panthers will wise-up and start Connor alongside Beason. It makes sense that Connon isn't starting over Beason and even Davis, as both were high draft picks and Beason (along with Patrick Willis) is one of the few young black defensive players with star potential.

I'd also rather see Clausen start at QB. Matt Moore is an exciting player, but he's another white guy who could easily be mistaken for "hispanic"Â￾ (whatever that is). He has jet-black hair and jet-black eyes. I'm not suggested he's mixed, just that Clausen has lighter features, and thus is "more white"Â￾ to me.

Clausen can be an exciting player. The Panthers had their usual almost coal black draft except for two white qb's in Clausen and Tony Pike. Not much to get excited about with them.

Thomas Davis is simply carrying too much weight on his 6-foot frame. Ray Lewis has been lucky to avoid injury, but most affletes can't escape it. Kendrell Bell, for instance, former Pittsburgh Steeler, was carrying too much weight and he's out of the NFL now. At 6-1, a Linebacker DOESN'T have to be 250 pounds. Just like linemen don't have to be 320+ pounds.

News: Davis (knee) tore his right ACL for the second time in the last seven months during Tuesday's practice, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Spin: He suffered the injury while backpedaling, very similar to the way he initial tore the ACL against the Saints in November. Davis will likely miss the entire 2010 season as a result of the injury, while the Panthers' defense loses one of it's most valuable leaders in the process. Dan Connor will likely be elevated to Davis' starting spot, and a roster move is almost certainly forthcoming to address the new need for depth at the position.

I'll only believe that Dan Connor has been "elevated" if (and when) I see it with my own eyes. Anyways, the guy they add to the roster will almost certainly be black.

Steve Smith, the only veteran receiver on the Panthers who deserves to be on an NFL roster, breaks his arm playing flag football at his youth camp.

That's the cover story anyway, which the Caste media dutifully reports, just as they reported that Thomas Jones broke his wrist answering a telephone and Brandon Marshall hurt his shoulder when he tripped over a McDonald's wrapper.

We'll probably never know for sure what happened with Smith because the media usually has no interest in reporting things that make blacks look bad; the present cover story is comical but touching (good hearted player has an accident running his youth camp).

The white morons on the local BSPN radio station were praising Smith's "toughness," citing his propensity to periodically bash in the face of one of his teammates. Yeah, only tough guys breakan arm playing flag football.

The NFL Network is reporting that Carolina has no interest in bringing in a receiver during Smith's absence. Why would they when they have the immortal Dwayne Jarrett and such other stiffs as Armanti Edwards and Kenny Moore? They have rookie Brandon LaFell, but it won't be surprising if he's a big a bust as Jarrett. Why not sign Kevin Curtis, who like Smith is very fast and is on the small side? Nahhh. . . .

2010 Season Outlook
This undersized but scrappy talent from â€ÂÅ"Linebacker U†could prove to be a bountiful source of solo tackles as he takes over in the middle for the Panthers.

Football Outsiders calls tight end Gary Barnidge the Panthers' second-best receiver.

Barnidge, a fifth-round pick in 2008, clearly has significant talent as a pass-catcher. But the Panthers have been very hesitant to use him and he had just 12 catches a year ago. Barnidge remains on the Dynasty radar as a stash candidate in case the Panthers start utilizing his skills.

No doubt Don! Why in the world is Kevin Curtis not on this team?? Is his knee still not ready?? If he were black he'd probably be in some team's camp! After drafting 3 WR's Charly Martin will have to be flawless in camp to make the team; will it be enough??

Matt Jones could easily replace the ghostDwayne Jarrett who has 33 receptions in his 3 year career! Had Decker(3rd round)not had the foot injury he should have been drafted ahead of Lafell(2nd)...who is nowhere near as consistent!

Not suprising on Barnidge...saw him tearing it up in college! He may have only had 12 rec last year; but 2 of those went over 50 yards...

I'm looking for LB-Dan Connor to have a "break-out" season!

Curtis is only 32. While that isn't exactly young you can say he's a baby compared to 36 year old Owens and 38 Galloway who will both be starting this season. Curtis is faster than both of them though we must admit at this point that he's injury prone. Still he should have been signed by some team and at least been given an opportunity to compete for a starting job.

I've yet to read of a team even showing interest in Curtis.

Well, Charly Martin's chances of making the Panthers as a fifth reciever just got a lot worse.

Martin caught one pass in seven games with Carolina last season. With Kenny Moore impressing early in camp, Martin's chances of making the roster just took a major hit. He could end up on the practice squad instead.
